I know the good devs are mostly retired but it's been ages since KDE 3.5, 4 was ass LOL literally, and 5 and 6 are exactly the same thing

The Plasma team need to make a reset button. A simple thing to rescue users when they screw up their desktop. Another 'advanced' feature would be the ability to SAVE your setup. But no. They just put more features in, more ways to break your system.

@@TriaMilia The one great thing Plasma has is the search system (baloo). It is buggy but it is fast. Alt+space and search. I used KDE just for that feature. Then when I destroyed my system for the 5th time I just went full time cinnamon. But by some miracle the baloo search works in cinnamon. So I became a full time cinnamon user. I ran mint and installed the DE KDE 5.2., left it installed and jumped back to mint from the login screen.

I haven't heard anything official, but I recently heard they are working on some sort of option to export settings as a backup. This would allow the user to replace the current settings with a backup if something is screwed up, and could also be imported into a new install to have all the changes applied in a few seconds.

@@haplozetetic9519 KDE have always been interested in new shinny stuff. They don't care about making a stable usable platform. As long as it looks pretty they are happy. I ran Plasma on top of mint and the computer was unstable. I went pure cinnamon and the same machine is rock solid. In the meantime plasma has gone to version 6.2.xx with all the same bugs. No path of upgrade for 5.2 users. They don't care. A simple SAVE button is beyond their skill level. Plasma is shite.
