You look so nice in the longer skirts, especially with a little slid... and then with the sneakers, really looks well with your body type. And the black dress with the slit and open back - absolutely amazing!

you are so right about the cultural differences between the UK and other places. I'm American but when I had an internship in the UK it really struck me how compared to the US, businesses are soooo consensus-driven and you have to come at everything sideways instead of directly saying, "this isn't working" or "we need to fix X problem." There's something about the relative lack of hierarchy that i appreciate--I don't like the way people in the US obsess over status and power--but it also made it hard to fix any problems. Americans can also be pretty direct like the Danes (though it varies a lot based on the region of the US, midwesterners are a lot like the UK).

I have to laugh at the UK having a relative lack of hierarchy! I'm a British expat living in Denmark, and I suppose it's all relative, while I do think the US comes across as being more conservative than the UK, there is a very definite hierarchy in the UK. There is one in Danish workplaces, too, but management make it seem like it's more of a consensus - it is in some ways, but definitely not in others. The British will complain, but pretty much always in a polite manner. In my experience, some Danes complain, others don't, even when they should. As for quality, there are definitely Danish brands I avoid because of quality (mainly Bestseller brands), and there are some more expensive brands that don't always finish items in a way I'd expect when you look at the pricetag. So I think, like in most countries, it's swings and roundabouts!

Good on you for standing your ground when it comes to taking back things that weren't worth the price. I'm German and customer service it's kinda similar here (even though not many things are still made here.)

I think you should say! I’m from the UK and out of 8 orders I sent 6 back for fit and quality issues or just the fact that the garment was so poorly packed it arrived ragged . We havd a right to demand better quality xx

The black linen dress looks lovely on you ✨ I haven’t bought from NaKd in a while because in my experience the quality did not hold up well over washes and time, but that seems to be more and more commonplace these days! Happy summer 🌻

I’ve avoided them for a while simply because I have been adding things for a long time that I need in natural fibers and back then they really had so many synthetics, at least of the things I was looking to add, which has changed a bit. I am extremely happy with my order, but it’s also early days :)

@@NajaSierra Definitely, the singlets look perfect. Sounds like they've improved a bit since I shopped there. I wonder if collaborating with KZbinrs and taking on feedback perhaps. I hope more brands will hop on the natural fibres train :)

Didn’t realize that you had a dog! 🐕💕 As for the new additions: the black off-shoulder top and LBD (w/ unique details) were my 2 favs. Hope you’ll do the review on the items that “won’t last a lifetime”, bc regardless of the quality, the cut/design of these items added an element of sophistication to your wardrobe. Choosing the right cut/lines for our body types is something many people struggle with (e.g. moi). Please share what you’ve learned.

I’m glad I waited for your opinion on the OddMuse blazer 😅 i really wanted to buy it - the shape is amazing, but the price was solid and I saw a huge number of those blazers on vinted and didn’t really get why people were selling them (sometimes it’s the fad culture and sometimes it’s bad quality). I would also be iffy about reviewing them - and i guess that is why this is the first time i saw anything about oddmuse past someone buying it - as they tend to make fun of a lot of things as a part of their tiktok marketing. Like if someone is wearing a similar cheaper blazer to what they made and such. Btw, I’m in the UK, but I’m originally Eastern European. We don’t really have good quality, but (influencers aside) people tend to rewear their clothes a lot. And we are vocal about returning stuff - something that does not really seem common in the UK. Or maybe it’s just frowned upon? I’m not sure.

Naja, I am in the US, when I think of Scandinavian fashion I think of creativity, ease etc, when I think of Swiss I think of a more austere, elite way of life in general, same can be applied to the craftsmanship of Italy vs the flair of France, I think it is all valid, I was thought that Europe is the crib of civilization since I was really young and have a highly adaptable and appreciative view of it all, best wishes always!

27:18 constructive criticism is key for improvement! the cultural differences are interesting, especially considering it's 3 different countries. the US alone is so large that i've witnessed it as well. (i'm from chicago & when i lived in seattle or portland, to give constructive criticism made you the enemy. like, "how dare you, my mom said it was so good she put it on the refrigerator!" whereas in chicago, everyone can be blunt & appreciate it because you can cut through the BS & get things done. although, returns country-wide are pretty easy with receipt & policy. PS. i moved back to chicago for the people!)

This sounds exactly like Switzerland/Denmark so I can totally relate! It’s very frustrating for everyone involved when cultural differences buds heads like that

I've visited both Chicago and Seattle, and while I can't comment about customer service I did notice people in Chicago seemed more blunt (to a point where it was so rude), while in Seattle they were very polite. I witnessed an elderly lady crossing at a pedestrian crossing in Seattle, she didnt get all the way across before the lights changed. Not one single person used their horn, which I have experienced in Philadelphia. In Phili, people were loud, but it came across more friendly, a sort of halfway house between Chicago and Seattle.

@@danishpastry6137 i see how people from outside of Chicago may feel it rude, but if you're from here it's just quick & easy communication. manners are important, yes. i found people in Seattle were polite, but if you stayed long enough you'd find a pack of lies underneath it all. i made a few friends out there, but none of them were *from* there.

Brit here - I think you should definitely give constructive feedback/criticism. I'd say most Brits don't love complaining but when we do it's about something that warrants it and it is nearly always done politely. In terms of consumer rights I'd say we're pretty good as well - if I've ever returned something due to it being faulty after only a few wears I've absolutely never had an issue with getting refudned.

why is it so normal to order so many things with the knowlege that you basically return it all, i dont get it
@NajaSierra
@NajaSierra 3 күн бұрын
What do you mean you don't get it? Do you think people order 3 items they surely want and then add an extra 7 that they hate just because they want the items to travel? I think you already know that the answer is that people order what they want/need/like and then once they try the things on - they have the full picture and return what they don't like/fit /presume they won't use/prioritize what to keep for financial reasons. Good gracious
