Fast Fashion hauls destroy pretty much fashion, but when consumed correctly we can find some single lights in between that we can implement into our personal wardrobes longterm. The ballet flats, mary jane’s, bubble skirts, capris or adidas sambas lol. All trendy, but not all good.

The only thing I have to say about any trend is that if it suits your body shape then embrace it and make it yours so that you don’t waste your money looking ridiculous! Also please bear in mind the madness of overproduction, & do not worry about the dictates of trends! It’s a mindf**k! I say this from the vantage point of a 61 year old. I have always been careful about buying only what I love & what suits my body in colour and cut. Therefore I am still wearing the some very special clothes I saved for & bought in the 80’s like the azzedine Alaia suede coat that cost me a months salary to buy at the time, but I still wear it, though very differently nowadays. It was so beautifully made that it is still in fantastic condition & has aged really well! Yes I really embraced the bubble skirt which first appeared in my life in 1984 in my days of discoing the night away, the New Romantic oversized frilly shirt in silk, the Romeo Gigli waistcoat these items were gorgeous and still are gorgeous and I still wear them because they still suit me & make me feel good! I can’t wear the bubble mini in raw silk tartan except over pants & over pants, unbelievably, it too is a yes… so for me the reason these items still work is due to their marvellous cut, beautiful fabrication, and my own desire to make them work. To the point about belt bags, I’m really obsessed with skirt stays for adjusting the length and gathering of fabric of skirt. I would love to see some accessories that combine both of these. Utility in an aesthetic way and to hold things

sneakers were never cute, i just wish my girly shoes didn't get so torn up..... thank you for affirming my decision to dig out the aviators I needed this tuba. rather chainmail than sequins, i despise sequins, sh*tty little pieces of plastic that bend and fall off when you put the dress on so they cover the changing room floor :( dad phone bag when?

So happy for the ballet flat thing happening cause that made me feel stupid for not realizing this sooner just cause they were out of style - that these shoes literally allow me to have girly dainty shoes without heels! Cause I just can't with most heels. :P

Trends I actually do like! I live and die by my platform doc marten boots, the Jadon boot, even if everyone was wearing them for a while (are they still?). I love mine so much I got a second pair that's fur lined and that was a game changer last winter. Up until last month when I got a pair of white sneakers, they were legit my only shoes. Recent trend I love, customizing your bag. Because I think that, when curated and done right, it's such a fun and personal thing. That said, I see tons of over-consumption in terms of just buying junk to put on your purse. But I've been having fun finding little keychains and such overtime that I really like.

ALSO agree that goth isn't really a trend right now, it's just something that always exists in the background and it's kind of outside the trend cycle, the same way punk is. Some designers will choose to reference it, and that'll be more popular certain years but it just exists independently of all that. And on a final note I still love bulky shoes, sneakers or otherwise, I just have no desire to feel the texture of the sidewalk in high definition.

Ooh bubble skirt, I wore one a long one to my prom in '99... Love the video and definitely bringing back some core memories with this one. For me workwear / utility - tech clothes are here to stay though its arguable that it has never left some circles. I thought I would be in oversized tops till the day i die, but I see my wadrobe morphing to my Y2k tees which some I still kept.

The moment you mentioned fusion sneakers, I immediately thought of the Skechers Mary janes. I used to sell shoes the mid 2000s, and that style was very popular with the service sector workers. They looked sort of dressy, but also comfortable. I never liked them, but sneaker wedges are way worse. I hope they never come back.

I have had my eye out for a good bubble skirt for a couple of years now. From all the ones I’ve tried if I go with the short style if it doesn’t have the waist banded it ends up making me look bigger than I already am bc the bubble is too high. Unless you’re a small person it’s not a good look. I did find myself a midi parachute bubble skirt and I am obsessed. Goes with everything and looks fabulous with my red Gucci Adidas Sambas that I wear every dang day. 😊

🔥Men's shorts that are so wide they look like skirts cos there is no gap between legs. Any length! 🔥Chanel style boucle tweed jacket - on men 🔥Straight men wearing blouses instead of shirts for formal wear. You reminded me that there's a Whiting and Davis chainmail top from 1984 I want. I have the purse and necklace, but haven't got the top yet. I have to remind myself of changing my bags, it's so easy to just grab the one that already has all the stuff in it. I usually buy mid sized bags, baby bags don't look useful, there are some big ones I've seen that are tempting.
