Great news! Glad to see about cron (it used to be hard to explain to not familiar with cron admins) and also about Windows 11 suport improvements. DaaS is right at the corner. Congratulations and thanks for the updates.

Great new features, they are very useful. I would like to know if you plan to add a backup function of the proxmox configuration? I know that you can do backups of the VMs but I have not seen any tool to backup the proxmox configuration.

Hi, as you may have found it already I still want to inform you about your question, the Proxmox Team provides us with a new Roadmap after each release and so I want to send the current Infos to you: Regarding the Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) the Roadmap reads as followed: Proxmox VE host backup Backup to one (physical) datastore from multiple Proxmox VE clusters, avoiding backup naming conflicts GUI restore improvements (including VMs) Set manual protection (immutable) flag for backups Importer for existing vzdump archives into Proxmox Backup Server LDAP/AD Authentication Backup clients for other operating systems As you can see several very important features will be release within the next few releases. (PVE Backup and Immutable flag as example) Also consider buying a Subscription ;)

Since many people using J3455 motherboard are facing the IOMMU problem, have you guys considered to include ACS patch in the future kernel release?

Hello, first of all, thank you for sharing the video. Could you please share a video that captures all the installations of Windows 11 and Windows server 2021 operating systems from start to finish? I would be very happy if you could share how Virtlo is used in the video.

Newest Proxmox 7.1 has trouble with installing CentOS 8.5 on a fresh kvm machine. It hangs on installing linux-firmware package. Or, if you upgrading your current Centos 8.x to CentOS 8.5, you will also get a hang in you are just using 'dnf upgrade -y' command. In case of upgrading such behavior can be workaround.

1.18 ... what are the pre-enroll keys and why do they have to be enabled? Is this option in addition to another one? 2.03 ... you left the ballooning device checked? Does this mean the bug had been fixed? I guess it is safe if fixed to check it after VM creation?

Have any of you tried to run the VE on a 12th gen Intel machine? The new hybrid CPUs have P-Cores and E-Cores and I’m not sure if Debian is able to see them. If Intel is going in this direction, then all future CPUs will have the similar characteristics. Apparently the future Intel Enterprise CPUs (Xeon) will use the LGA1800 socket which will almost identical to the LGA1700 of the Alder Lake. So I guess at one point Proxmox will have to follow the trend with the new generation CPUs. I ask a Proxmox guru like you: Can we install VE on a 12th gen motherboard and take advantage of 12th gen. full functionality?
@JerimiahMayle2 жыл бұрын
I am not a Proxmox guru but that seems like a Linux OS thing, maybe even as low as a kernel level thing. So I would assume if Linux kernel version 5.1* has support, we might see it be available for Proxmox VE as well. But because of how Debian is, usually behind (for stability reasons), we might not see Proxmox taking that change anytime soon. But that's just my assumptions

I can't passthrough my nvidia gt1030 in proxmox 7.1! ARRG!!!! All the gpu pasthrough youtube tutorials are for proxmox 6.1. Can anyone help?

I'm surprised by the choice of 5.13 kernel instead of the LTS 5.10.
@JerimiahMayle2 жыл бұрын
Do you think the decision was made because something in 5.13 made virtualization run smoother / better? I don't because I have not checked the kernel updates between 5.10 and 5.13.
@kimotroph96832 жыл бұрын
I think that was a wise choice by the developers as there were significant issues in Linux Kernel prior to 5.13. In retrospect of course I post this 4 months in the future!

I noticed the Windows 11 updates in my v7.0 installation. Getting W11 installed with UEFI was a chore under v7.0 and I hope it will be a little better now.

Just too bad you wasted valuable development time to get the latest crap from Redmond working. If they want to be incompatible with everything, let them, ignore them.
