I remember watching this when you released it and being fascinated but ultimately disinterested because I couldn't think of any practical way I would make use of it. Fast forward 12 months and I've just finished building a vocal booth for myself and it's usefulness has become very clear! Thanks again for making these awesome vids

I have used Cakewalk, Protool, Cubase, Ableton live, they are all not as flexible as Reaper. Reaper has remained my only recording DAW. A resizable EQ, it's what I have been waiting for. Great video.

After making the video I sent a message to one of the developers, Schwa, asking about the benefit using rc.reaper.fm instead of entering the ip. Schwa: The advantage is that you can bookmark it and it will always work, even if the local IP changes after a reboot, router reset, lease expiry etc. it will always redirect to whatever the computer's current local IP is.

Remote control feature is awesome. I used to use TouchDaw app when I wanted to reference a mix through my hifi (it's in a different spot of my room, so I had to use a phone as a remote). But connecting the app was quite often a pain in the ass. Web interface should do nicely, especially (I assume) since it can be customized. And finally they made a resizable EQ, great. I'll try to test new lyrics feature against SWS notes. Not sure which one is better yet. Thanks again for some good news :)

If you click on the time display on the web interface on the top of the transport, you can type in the jump to location or press M1 for marker one M2 for marker 2 and so on. You can also change a track name by clicking on it (and use voice to text just like any other place on your phone or tablet)

Corrections: * It's not necessary to add multiple instances of the Web browser interface, just add basic.html, click.html or lyrics.html to the address on your device. ** Dev Justin says: The option to stop recording when timecode lost/drift are not because that the recordings would be unusable (The timecode sync has little to do with the audio quality), it's so that if you have REAPER slaved to another device that sends timecode, it will automatically stop when your other device stops.

Oh my goodness the remote feature is awesome! I'd been trying and failing to get TouchDAW to work (instructions are quite confusing). Anyway I got this working right away, copying what you did. Pretty easy. You skipped over setting the port number quite quick though. I had to change that. I don't know what the right numbers are, but i just added 5 and it worked. Hopefully that won't blow anything up, haha. Great stuff and thanks.

Don't feel bad about this. I use it for recording, mixing, mastering, teaching, testing, video production and much more and I still don't use it to it's full potential. I don't think anyone can use every feature. Just try to get the most out of it for where it can benefit you.

I _really_ like the remote control thing. But as much as I like it, I don't see the use. Maybe for those who like a touch interface better (lots of people i'd guess), but if the controls are laggy there's little point.

Eichro I think it'll be very useful when you wanna record your voice in a vocal booth and you're alone. You can control the record session by yourself via mobile phone.

For example, I always listen to reference mixes through a different pair of speakers (just some hi-fi) which are in a completely different spot in my room. So I have no way of being in a sweet spot and close to my computer at the same time. I used a wifi-midi control app before, but that one looks like way less trouble.

I haven't tested much but there is a 1 bar delay before it starts then it seems to be solid after. Will have to test for longer periods and tempo changes.

Great video as always. A question unrelated to the update... Is the toolbar buttons you have with 1, 1/2, 1/4 etc to control the grid resolution in the arrange view? I want that! Maybe a cool idea for a video would be to go through your custom toolbar and how it helps your workflow?

Look for "Grid: set to [xxx]" in the action list. Use those actions for your custom toolbar and you're good to go!

A few questions I want to be able to adjust the equalizer also I would like to adjust the faders on each channel is this doable ? I play in a band and I like Reaper for its stabilty how ever id like to adjust fades and be able to eq each vox instruments etc

Do you know if there is any way to edit the floor on ReaEQ? It simply shows way too much information now, and seeing all these inaudible frequencies really messes with my production flow. Seems reckless to change the EQ floor so drastically.

The REAPER Blog they should implement a "legacy 2007-2016" mode for the spectrum analyzer that allows you to switch between the improved version and the old one. it is simply too big of a change after being used to the old display. Sucks.

I didn't notice a difference at all honestly. You should dig through the bug reports and pre-release discussion for the details on this and to make an official feature request.

I keep getting an error was working fine just the other day and now i get an error plus it will now not show up on my phone. FRUSTRATED. Also getting file cannot be found on my phone . This really sucks being a drummer it's hard to record properly

I have version 5.29 installed but when I try to install the updated version 5.30 it gives me an error for the Reaper exe. What am I doing wrong or how do I go about installing the update?

I keep getting an "error getting local port" everytime I try to save the web browser interface. I've tried the IP address and I've tried the rc.reaper.fm way, but they don't work :/ Really amazing update by the way!

Gotta check your firewall settings. Sounds like REAPER is blocked from making connections.

I wasn't connected to the same wifi on my phone. Also just make sure it's working before you close the options window and it should work just fine. Excellent feature!! Do u guys know of any reaper vids on looping? Trying to get live looping going and can't use Möbius in reaper for some reason :(

your router or windows firewall is probably blocking reaper from making connections. also try connecting from same computer to see if that is true.

Reaper is a great DAW, very flexible interface, friendly solutions for users, so many good features that I can't find in other DAW etc... But, in my opinion, one thing make problem. That is clicking when toggle repeat is active. When Reaper playing loop in selected area, I can hear clicking (tick, cracle...) when loop is end and jump to the start. Sometines clicking is bigger, sometines smaller, sometines no clicking at all. It seems no micro fades at start and end on repeat area. I tred find solutions in settings preferences but no results. I'm a user Ableton Live and Studio One3. In that DAWs no clicking when selected area is playing in repeat loop. Sorry for my english, I,m from Poland.

Indeed, if the remote "only works over LAN", then why have any authentication mechanism (username:password) at all? Either auth the client securely, or don't auth at all.

To be clear, I just present the information as I interpret it from the changelogs and beta forum. I don't work for Cockos Inc. Username and password are probably to keep things organized for schools or studios where there are multiple computers running reaper simultaneously on the same network. Best reason I can come up with.
