What's New in Tokyo in 2021? (Part 2!)

More new things that have opened in Tokyo and the rest of Japan in 2021. Including shops, restaurants and exhibitions - and some very kawaii things!

There's been so much news about shops, games arcades and restaurants we love closing down, including game centres in Akihabara, Tokyu Hands in Ikebukuro, changes in Odaiba and my favourite shop in Harajuku, Listen Flavour. Instead of being getting down about these changes I thought it'd be more positive to focus on new things that have opened up. And there's lots of new shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions in Tokyo and around Japan. Including Gundams, a Sanrio exhibition, a kawaii place to stay at Moshi Moshi Rooms, Tokyo Torch, the new tallest building in Japan and lots more.

Absolutely - there's so much to do there!! Wherever the rest of my trip's based, I always want to spend a couple of days in Tokyo to re-visit my favs and go to any new places.

Great video! There is also a mini pig cafe in Harajuku (Takeshita-dōri). I was there a couple of weeks ago, and it was quite a unique experience

They recently reduced the quarantine time to 10 days, but foreigners from most countries are still not allowed in (visas are suspended). Currently there's no news on when it'll be open for tourism again - but at least there was some movement for the first time recently and there are negotiations happening. Fingers crossed!!

Do you have any idea when Japan will fully open their borders for tourism or at least for Europe? I’m going next year but don’t want to risk buying my plane tickets yet.

There's no news yet. There was some movement recently as they reduced the quarantine period to 10 days, but there are still no visas for foreign tourists, and no plan for when we'll be allowed back. I'm waiting too - don't want to have to cancel again!

Current my interest is Tokyo Torch Building !💓 I'm looking forward 2027 ! 💖✨ Also, Linear Chuo Shinkansen will be opened between Shinagawa and Nagoya at 2027 ! 💖✨

Foreign tourists still aren't allowed into Japan. I went for a weekend away locally (first time since January 2020!) but I'm not travelling anywhere abroad yet. Can't wait though!
