Love the 780G, but still on the Guardian 3 sensors, living in Ontario Canada. My nights have been amazing flat line with at least 8 hours of sleep which is awesome. The auto correction are sweet to keep me in tight range 5-8mmol/L hitting the low 90% in target most days and my A1C has been around 6.3 since switching from the 770G. The meal detection tech is another awesome feature to this pump all in all I'm with you on this new pump technology. Been T1D for 46 years and my secret is spending as much time outside being active! Keep on pumping Rob and your podcast are great!

The Guardian 3 and 4 are the same. Don't let them fool you. The 3 is easier to extend than the 4. If it did, then they would get less revenue.

I started on a MiniMed 715 pump 20+ years ago and quit due to the infusion sets not lasting 3 days and since my Cobra insurance expired it was too expensive. Now that I have Medicare I decided to try pump therapy one more time and chose Medtronic over Beta Bionics iLet because of their advanced 7 day infusion sets and their algorithm driving you to a target goal of 100 instead of the iLet setting you in broad range of glucose levels. After 3 weeks I have had 2 infusion sets last the full 7 days and had to replace a sensor early on my arm that quit because I moved in my sleep and it came loose. Am impressed with the Smartguard feature but am filling my reservoir more often, about every 2 days with 300 units of Novolog. I miss my Dexcom G7 am looking forward to the Simplera Sync sensors when they become available.

I think soon! The simplera CGM is now available in Europe and I believe it is waiting on FDA approval for the US.

@@DiabeticsDoingThings yep, though it's looking like next spring now from what I've been told by those that know and don't get to say. The Simplera is not yet integrated with the 780g yet. At least not in America, of course.

I agree with you about the 780g. Just frustrated about the Guardian 4. The Guardian is not lasting 7 days. I am also having issues with the sensor update that results in a new sensor. Today it took a total of 7 hours to get everything working like it should. When everything works I absolutely love the closed loop system. Any suggestions on what I can do? I have contacted Medtronic and sensors are being replaced.

Sorry that you're having issues, it's really frustrating when one of the parts of the system don't work correctly. I'm glad you're getting the sensors replaced, I had a bad batch one time where all 5 sensors failed and Medtronic replaced them. Where do you wear your sensor? I've been on a roll with my sensors lately, they've all been lasting the full 7 days

@@DiabeticsDoingThings I have been wearing them on my right arm. I have watched you video on putting them on and it was extremely helpful.

Hi, here's what I know about this, I know that they recommend putting on the arm, but I don't see why there. Put it on your abdominal area. I've only had one not last for a week. Plus, there you have more tissue and a less chance of pulling or moving the sensor hair that stays in you. I think that is where a lot of sensor failures come from. Plus, with these sensors, they are a pain with all the steps to apply. I probably shouldn't tell this, but it's starting to get out, Sensor 4 is the Sensor 3, just repackage. GWhen the Simplera becomes available in the U.S. it will be a vast improvement over the Guardians. No ego here, but this is my education on diabetes, just turned 30yrs T1. I've pumped for 22yrs. I've used Dexcom 5 and 6. Guardian 3 and now, the 4 in the span of 7 years. All the best to you!

Love the 780! I was thinking about switching to another system due to the tubing attachment. Glad I didn’t!!! Medtronic system is the only one I’ve used. The 780 is the game changer!!!
