That flat pattern looks so wrong, what method of manufacture is it intended for?

Yes I wondered how on earth you would bend this into shape in the real world using this pattern. It shows that SW can make something in 3D that might be impossible to manufacture. I assume this part would need to be pressed around a solid die? Or use of a bead roller and shrinker/stretcher? Then finish with a plenishing hammer and curved buck?
