Nothing is changing with AdSense as far as I know, it's just clicks through to actual websites will decrease... so publishers are likely to see lower earnings, due to lower numbers of people actually landing on their sites and seeing the ads.

articles will to some extend become obsolete, content creators need to focus on something that ai is not good at creating, video for one is an answer. we will see an extensive shift to this format which has already begun. also keywords, backlinks etc. will not have the great value anymore they once had.

In my opinion google will use content from websites, mix it with ai and serve it as its own. So the webistes owners wont have traffic anymore. This is not fair I would say that this is a steal. The user will spend time on google rather that on wesites with actual content. The monetization of that content (that doesnt belong to google) will be all in google pocket.

So far, Bard performs poorly relative to other language models of its size. Lots of other (uncensored) models for people to use if they want to, for unethical purposes. The cat is out of the bag, there's no stopping the ethics issue now regardless of what Google or OpenAI does to their models

I can see how Google is beginning to activate it's ecosystem of products and services. Foundationally, it starts with Search, but will begin to integrate generative AI into Google Docs, email, leveraging KZbin Shorts as a means to showcase quick product details, long-form for in-depth complex products/services, etc. Google hasn't 'flexed' yet, bc it has to be cognizant as not to cannibalize it's own revenue streams (ad/search example), but rather, strike the right balance. Plus, I do believe they have broader concerns on the use of AI broadly with consumers without the right protections or guardrails in place first. Behind the scenes, it's ad and analytics platforms are already becoming far more sophisticated and democratizing the ability to leverage these platforms simply using natural language. I can see these integrations creating THE personal assistant to help you at work, school, personally... If you allow your data to be integrated, it will personalize at a far greater capacity than others can... in my opinion.

There's a number of people using Chat-GTP which makes difficult to optimise content for improving organic traffic. This is just one example, but the way I see things going is towards an increased use of AI assistants in both consumer and B2B sectors.

Yo, will you still show websites too? 'Cause there are loads of folks in the comments saying "bloggers and publishers are screwed." And if they're screwed, then doesn't that mean Google's screwed too? I mean, 80% of their revenue comes from ads, right? So if there are no websites, why would businesses pay up? I'm guessing it's gonna be like one AI answer right at the top, and then a bunch of related websites underneath it. Or maybe they're cookin' up something entirely different? Bard is available in 180 countries already. What are you talking about? EU, Canada and Brazil are not included yet. But you can use a VPN to connect to a server in a supported country, with ease.
