Napheesa collier second best player this year she carried her team to the finals. Most points post season. Averaging 40 points in first round. 25 and 10 in semis. Cooked stewart in finals. She is not number 3, she is number 2 and closely number 1

Agreed 👍 Fellow Minnesotan here. I sincerely believe that the Lynx will be back even stronger and more Durable for the 2025 Season. I think they have learned much more from this Season and The way the Playoff Scenario went down. And If there’s one thing about Cheryl Reeves, Whether anyone out there likes her or not, she can most certainly Coach at a Very High Level in Her experience and Understanding of the game. And She has The Keen Unique ability to Quickly Adapt and or Adequately Change Her Gameplay Strategies for Her Players and the Team, not only at a Moments Notice, or during a game, but also thruout a Season with almost Every Team Need, Developement, Production, Strategies, Roster moves, etc etc. I think she just has a greater grasp on things as a Head Coach than what alot of Head Coaches have. And I have a feeling that she’s probably very involved a great deal in the Organizations Free Agents selecting and Draft Selecting Processes. So, even if the Full Team core doesnt all return, Which is regrettable, I still know that Reeves knows exactly how to fill every Single Void for The Team to Ensure there are No Weak spots anywhere, and that considers cap room and all of that too, but I think she just knows how to make sound coaching decisions and to Get The Best with Whatever she has to work with. The only thing she cannot control unfortunately, is the officiating of the WNBA

Hunter, this was a great layout of The Lynx, With alot of great detail and Key points you touched on Very thoroughly here. I enjoyed your assessments. I don’t have a whole lot to add, Because I think you covered alot of ground here so well. I think the Lynx are definitely gonna be strong contenders once again, in 2025. And I agree with your comments regarding those who were snubbed for the All-Star game. And lastly I’m stumped on the part between Juhasz and Diamond, There’s upsides and downsides with both of them. I’m not sure who the Lynx are going to protect between the 2 of them. I do know that I’ve heard that Juhasz is a Great Team Leader in the locker room, a Morale Booster and Supporting Role type of player.

I think your assessment of them is right on. But the one thing that I would consider from Minnesota is potentially trading for expansion draft protection for their main 9 players (Trade a first for them to take Shephard or Epoupa). And then use their second round pick to get JJ Quinnerly or Leger-Walker.

I think the Lynx have to do the least amount of work compared to any other team this offseason. Their starting 5 is arguably the most dangerous in all of the WNBA (and the most consistent) on both sides of the ball. I am for sure predicting another finals appearance from them next year.

Excellent breakdown. I totally agree Phee opened many eyes with her outstanding footwork. Kayla McBride is definitely better than I had seen in the past. This team just has a smooth flow to it. Courtney Williams seems like she has found the right balance in her game. She was always talented. Keep pushing out these interesting videos. Thanks

I followed the Lynx for a few years, but this was the first year attending a lot of their games. I think the 6th player protected is a toss-up between Miller and Juhasz. I agree with your assessment that Juhasz is less of a liability defensively, but probably doesn't have the upside of Diamond. I was there for games where the bench got emptied and as much as I love Pili - she has more growing to do. She makes threes but fouls and turns the ball over too much. I favor Juhasz because she can fill in for Smith, and Miller really can't defend as well. I am excited because I don't think Carlton, Smith nor Phee are at their apex yet. And down the stretch, McBride was such a consistent player. She defended Mabrey well, Ionescu well, Taurasi and Cloud well. It's like there wasn't a defensive assignment she didn't relish. BTW, I love MHA too, but she's not a swiss army knife forward like Lan, Carlton, Miller and Cecelia are.

Court was a great addition to the team but I think she limits the team’s ceiling if she continues running the offense full time. Too many instances of either being unable to get entry passes in to Phee or Alanna when they’re in good position or settling for ill advised shots instead of getting other teammates involved. I think she would be better as a secondary playmaker. Amoore would be the best pick for me. Her pick and roll playmaking in this system would be so elite and despite her size, she’s a capable help defender.

What surprises me is that in all her years of coaching, apparently Cheryl Reeve has never had to overcome a bad call in order to secure a win. Fortunately, sometimes you can try one more 3-pointer during regulation to try and do that. If that doesn't work and you're really lucky, you might even get an overtime period where if you score more points, the bad call becomes irrelevant.

I myself is having a difficult time which player the Lynx should protect. Dorka or Diamond. But at the same time, it is harder for the Valks to choose, bcoz they can only pick 1 player per team, and offer 1 UFA. As for the Draft, I’m sure Sky NEEDS Olivia Miles but I don’t trust they are smart. What do you think of Sonia Citron for the Lynx though? Even though I think you have a point of them getting Amoore instead. I think the Lynx NEEDS a SCORER. And whoever that is needs to fit in their system - but I think they’re smart enough to know.

I am a pessimistic by nature, so I think the Lynx had their best shot this year to win it all, and should have. All worked perfectly, that's not something you can keep going for an extended period of time usually. The problem is Alanna in my view. She is my favorite player alongside Phee, I believe her to be a defensive genius, and her IQ is off the charts. I think she had the best +/- of the team during the Finals. But she still is 6'3", during game 5 she was smaller than 4 New York players, and that, constantly being forced to guard someone bigger and heavier, takes a big toll on anyone's body. This is why she had to play the entirety of the playoffs injured, she took too many hits, I fear her body can't keep up like this. Hope I'm wrong on this. On a related note, I would protect Dorka if I were in that spot. I like her mindset, and she has a better toolset than Hines-Allen for the Lynx. Furthermore, I believe the Lynx need a 5 more than they need a wing like Miller. Keep up the good work, I always like hearing you speak about the W.

EDD is my goat but I agree with you here. Only sign EDD if she agrees to a vet minimum and a bench role/10-12 minutes per game for size and shooting. Would be a great culture and leadership fit, but not worth a sizable investment. Generally, I trust the Lynx front office to scout and build on the great chemistry of this team and hunt for the super fit, not the super team this off season

@@natureredux1957how do you define super team? Because if they were they would have been on top of the projections, not Number 9th or bottom of the playoffs. Nobody projected their team to be this good. They’re a smarty constructed and refined team, a Smart Team not Super Team. Alanna and Williams as free agents coming this season were almost forgotten by the league. Williams was once great but was benched. Alanna wondered if she’ll even return to the W back in 2023.

The Lynx completed revamped their Team last year with only 5 returning players. Coach REVEES biggest issue is that she refuses to trust her YOUNGER players and that's ultimately what cost them in the Finals. Alissa Pili a rookie could have made a far bigger impact this year if given more minutes. The Liberty trusted their Rookie and she actually started games in the finals. Dorka Juhasz and Diamond Miller also could have been far more impactful. So in spite of the fact that the Lynx, even at the 11th spot in the Draft, can still get for next Season a impactful Guard, but Coach will be the Problem. But they can certainly make the Finals again. At least 2 of their main starters just arrived and only have 1 season playing with the Lynx.
