Starship proving it worth in every test but what I am worried about is how will they handle the refuel problem ? Starship is great for LEO but beyond that it needs to be refueled many times Are they going to refuel the depot instead and store fuel there ?

we wouldn't know until SpaceX performs it in near future, for now we don't know.

That is obvious they will fill a tanker who will be specially designed to store fuel in space heavily insulated and would harbor the tools needed for prop loading and transfer then just one time rifling for deep space ships
@LITTLEgiiant2 күн бұрын
A tanker variant of starship will carry the risk of multiple refuels and then transfer all the fuel to the cargo starship in one go.
@Ishmam...282 күн бұрын
@@LITTLEgiiant yeah in order to do that they need to perfect that rapid reuse of starship

Because that's not how the Artemis architecture is set up, it's not crew rated, nor is it optimized to land in the vacuum environment of the moon. But with Trump in office I think there's a pretty good chance SLS and maybe Orion are cancelled..

@@pricelessppp I don't understand what that means. SpaceX is already delivering astronauts to and from the space station.

Because NASA would be jobless if that were the case, it has been a debate on the spaceflight community that the architecture is wholly inefficient, especially with Gateway's existence being similar to a toll booth. But i guess its one way to be a multiplanetary species.

I don't understand the setup in 1:33 , if during the landing or a bit later on after the landing that thing tips over it's finished ! Even during touchdown with the slight sideway movement and one leg hits the soil it's going to become unstable
@yassassin64253 күн бұрын
The centre of mass is very low. however, uneven terrain is certainly a hazard. The landing sites are surveyed and the HLS must touchdown with pinpoint accuracy which we know is possible.
@MrRobin613 күн бұрын
@@yassassin6425 Very true but the last US lunar lander tipped over even with very low sideway motion when one of the legs caught soil ...I still see this as a very big risk I'd rather see a 90 degree rotation of the ship and land on it's side , take off with side thrusters and then the main thruster

@@SuzufaDeArtemis is extremely expensive. Just the SLS rocket which has currently had a single launch costs as much as 25 expended Starship launches. Starship development since 2019 was around $10B and SLS is around $30B. Starship IS the one that’s being developed in less time and money.
