What's next for Virginia Beach Fishing Pier now that the car has been recovered?

There has been construction equipment on that pier (pile driviers, fork lifts, etc); a car driving on it would not damage it. It looks like teh railing and posts were damaged. That's an afternoon job to fix. Maybe a few decking board damaged at the very end. I did those same repairs at Lynnhaven Pier for 25 years. No big deal.

the car damaged some planks/walking boards near the end of it where it drove off if you look at drone footage taken not just the railing also a wood piling is missing also on the side dunno if previous damage, but if the video you can hear loud noises before the car drove off its most likely the piers flooring breaking which is shown in the drone footage.

@@mattwill63 Decking boards are simple and easy to replace. It's very un-likely the stringers, piling caps or pilings were damaged. Again, an afternoon's work.

$4 to walk on and $13 to fish on the pier which is privately owned. They'll probably bill each and every newscaster and emergency worker who walked on it.

Ya get what you pay for, the fishing pier here is free, but it still has and attendant and a gate. When the attendant chastised me showing up 5min early for fishing, and I refused to acknowledge his rage, the DNR showed up every visit thereafter. Remember, they care about your mental health, right up until they target you for harassment.

No wonder the guy drove off it. Probably said best 13 bucks he ever spent.

Car causes crash, car removed from crash site. Not one mention of how the car got there. That poor soul was in that car until it was recovered. Someone people loved has made their mark in a life that ended in a loss of all hope to live. Nothing some paint and new wood can't make us all forget that a real person went off that pier, in a car.

My dad was stationed at Oceana in the 60s. Back then, there were 2 piers. We would fish from one of them quite often catching crab, spots and croakers. On average, we would catch 100 to 186 fish in one night (3-4 people) Good times!!!
