Hats off to you both! The house and garden are beautiful. I love doing both design & decorating and gardening. My days are both more or less over in these areas so I’m living vicariously through you two. The garden amazes me. At first I thought you spent too much time in the garden and not enough in the house. But no, you did right. Now that you’re in the house you don’t have all that hard work ahead of you, none of the heavy rock lifting. I know you want to be kind to everyone and everything, I cringe every time you let a slug eat on you lovely flowers. I kind of understand sharing a strawberry, notice I said “a” strawberry. One slug 🐌 will become more and more, like rabbits 🐇 🐇 🐇. Yuck to slugs🐌 🐌 🐌 (I know these are snails but ___.) I always thought the stream would be a nice place for them to live. Put on a pair of gloves 🧤 and place them in the new home, the water. If you place them on the wall of the stream they will just eat their way up the wall to your garden again, bringing their family with them. I know I’m sounding like a know it all Mom here but I’m a “know it all Grandma”. Which you gave me the name, Grandma. Good morning Alla and Sergei from Northern California on a cooler end of Sept but still in the mid 80’ during the day. I wish you’d put pot feet under your big planter close to the kitchen and washroom patio. Air😮 circulation around the pots plus would look so lovely. I use plant trollers under my big planter pots as they are easy to move around especially when cleaning around the courtyard. I’m so happy you had such a lovely birthday celebration. See you later. I agree kitchen should be next. It’s good to give yourself a break from the hard work for a little while and just tweak your rooms by making them more warm, cozy and homely. It’s the time to enjoy and relax, and get comfortable in your home before starting a new project specially, like the laundry room. Alia there is always another day don’t work yourself so hard like there is no tomorrow. If you wear yourself out it will be hard to get your energy back to where it used to be. I hope you’re taking your vitamins and supplements that will keep you strong. Rest and sleep is required for you at this time. The party was a big success, but it took a lot of your energy to. Enjoy your new home and look around and see how you improve this room or that room that you finished or what else needs to be done in these rooms that is not totally finished yet. Those are the projects you could be starting, not a big demolishing or concrete floors. If you spread yourself too thin, you will feel scattered tired and listless. because it’s overwhelming. I did mention in a comment earlier to start one room and completely finish decoration and everything. I’ve been wondering how are you going to keep your bedroom warm is there a heater in there for the winter? This is another project. 😊There’s so many other nice medium size projects the front door to fix cupboard space, sink, stove in the kitchen. There’s the cupboards and utilities for the kitchen. There’s so much more than demolishing another room. Of course it’s not my idea to tell you what to do, but if this was my project this is how I would handle it. Oh yes, you show us the end results of each room. You did this with the bedroom, but you didn’t do it with the bathroom or the outside kitchen that would be a project to show us. I feel for you when I see you worn out, at the beginning of this project you were so vibrant I don’t think you realize what a toll it’s taken on you. We don’t need to see DIY‘s all the time there is to many DIY‘s on channels the audience is getting tired of it. I enjoy seeing your daily life in your home with little projects some big projects but variety like the party was one and being in your bed getting ready to edit etc. These are some of my suggestions for you I would like to see you be more successful and attract more subscribers. May Light, love, life, laughter, and rainbows always surround you and your loved ones. This is my wish for you.

I guess with added concrete floor and new plumbing the flooding will be properly drained away. Also if lime used on the walls it will also help any damp dry out properly.

A warning about knocking out the old laundry sink. I used a small sledge hammer to knock out cement area around a sink. (in the 50s they put like 6" of concrete behind a corner sink. To place a violet/ plants with window access) Apparently, I gritted my teeth too strongly while repeatedly hitting the concrete and cracked a tooth in my smile that required an implant to repair. Consider a mouth guard should the sink require a lot of strength to break down and you notice you are gritting your teeth.
