Wow what beautiful upgrades, I have the same engine in a engineer edition, I have one question when converting to legacy is the speaker swapped out as well? That is one of the things I like about my legacy models is the speaker sounds so much better than what what MTH uses.

Everything is swapped out including the speakers. Only the motor is original

do you know gary how bruk Handels the motor encoder on these upgrades? does he just swap the mth motor for a lionel one?

Nope, he has a way of removing the worm gear to get the encoder on. No way would you want to swap a Pittman for those junk cannon motors Lionel now uses.

wow thanks for the speedy reply. yes those pittmans are the best. my mth hudsons I have use those. they run like a swiss watch. If I had the money bruk would definitely get them for legacy. well at least one of them.

How much does he charger for a conversion like this? Opens up a whole new can of worms in terms of engines I can get that are genuinely kinda better than what they got out now. Plus I'm not limited to just getting an older tmcc engine to convert.

I really can’t give you a price what he charges. No two engines are the same in the amount of work that needs to be done. I can tell you I spend around 300 bucks in parts but I only purchase from Lionel during their 50% off sale. You would need to talk to Bruk on your particular engine

@@superwarp12 fair enough, I'd want to convert a tmcc AC-9 2-8-8-4 to full legacy control. Possibly with whistle steam as I've seen someone do an actual whistle where the smoke comes out of the proper holes like the real thing.
