The 3ds will always be my most favorite handheld of all time along with the Vita and Switch! I came across an original 3ds from FB Marketplace for only $60 and decided to modify it and added in all my favorite 3ds and DS titles. There's just something so special about the original 3ds I seen it a bit more pixel perfect rather than the other variants! Such an awesome handheld to take when you travel!

The original 3ds is beautiful, love the processing capabilities of the new version but i love the glitter on the og models lmao I got an og for £50 and i love this thing so much, have been looking for a new version as well as a psvita but i love just shoving this one in my pocket and it not taking up too much space

As a Fantasy Life enjoyer, yes there is a lot of dialogue and lore, but that’s only in the story part. The tutorials are only at the beginning of the careers. You need to go through the story to get access to the full map but leveling up the careers is kinda fun and there are many ways to progress in them, a few weapons you can specialize yourself in, and the game is generally simple and fun to play. Yes I really like this game lol

I love Fantasy Life. I played three times until I was finished, then I had to restart every time cuz my ds broke lol. At the last time I even bought the DLC for it and then my ds went under the water. Still love this game tho

Depending on the version of the mod, most updates are safe to install. I recommend looking up the hacks guide to see if you can update, or what you need if not.

check out the 3ds hacking guide, it says "If your console is running Luma 10.2.1 or higher, it is 100% safe to update. You can check your Luma version by holding (Select) while booting your console." can also check your luma version its "L" + "Dpad Down" + "Select"

I got a 3DS XL from a coworker that moved during 2020. It was sorta idle, I just modded it last week as an emergency thing to keep my young daughter busy at an event. She loves it. Get in your multiplayer online before they shut down that stuff in April! (I tried Mario Kart and got clobbered lol)

3ds is probably my most played system, and I get even more milage out of modding it. My current one is that orange and black new xl that released in europe. it reminds me of the super cool daiei hawks n64. also a great way to play all those ds games i traded in as a kid

Amazing. And nice steal! I, just yesterday, bought a 3ds xl silver for 40€! I was so excited because ive been wanting one for a few years now and they go for, where i live, around 200 secondhand. I had like 30 bucks left after spending a few on other booths and called my mother to drive over the other 10 😅 there was no way i was going to let this one go.

Yesterday I modded my old 3ds xl! I got it as a gift from my parents like 10 years ago or something. It still runs fine! The top screen has a bit of a weird spot (maybe water?) and the outside plastic is a little scratched up. Still, I'm looking forward to playing all the games I have on it, and also upgrading the SD card. My current one is only 4GB because that's what I had on hand when I decided to mod.

if the weird spot is that it glows a bit lighter than the rest of the screen, thats a commen issue with these screens and just happens to age. i dont think it affects performance at all and is unnoticable unless the screen displays a single color in that spot

You can update your 3Ds as long as you have the newest update for Luma 3Ds. But if your other CFW apps are also out of date you can update all of them now

I just modded my 3DS XL last night and upgraded from a 4 to 128GB microSD I can’t wait to learn and get the most out of all the custom software and stuff. And with Nintendo having discontinued online support I can’t imagine they’ll be cracking down on users with modded hardware.

If you have CFW installed correctly, it's fine to install the system update. In fact you should, for online features.

The one thing with modding the 3ds I am finding slightly frustrating is the lack of custom housing online. it's so hard to find mods that will style this thing up. I would die for an all-black housing and purple buttons. It would look so nice!

modded my new 2ds cl yesterday, i have fun playing it but i got into it late, onlt getting it back in 2019 when it was only £100 BNIB with MK7. I got bored of having barely any games and with the eshop closure all the game prices are going up, so i thought i might has well finally mod it. been having a blast with games like yoshi wooly world, spiderman edge of time 3ds, and donkey kong country returns 3d! thanks for showing the games ur enjoying, ill have to get a few. You can actually update, you have to update luma first via the universal updater and then you can update (make sure that the up arrow is gone by the luma icon in the universal updater, that means it’s fully updated)

I love the 3DS, especially after modding it. However, I’m not that big a fan of the OG 3DS or the original XL. I just find the buttons kind of cheap feeling. Plus the 3D feature doesn’t work for shit.

Fantasy life is so good! I agree it can get very wordy and starting a new life can be really tedious but it's good if you're in the mood for a simple game. Also gets less wordy the more you play but sometimes it's just good to run off on your own without playing the story.

@@supersambams hope you enjoy it! There's more to it than just lives and the story, there's alot of side quests and you can get a house which is pretty fun to work towards. If you end up liking it the dlc basically adds a whole new game to it.

With a CFW 3DS you can play games from any region! The taiko games were the 2 rpgs that were recently ported to switch in a collection.

Fantasy Life is worth pushing through the tutorials - honestly it's so fun playing through the different class (Life) stories, I started with the Alchemist. Highly recommend it.

The life where you farm crystals and stuff (in German; Schürfer) is the easiest life to start with since it doesn’t require any skills from other life’s you have to master in order to progress. Played it four times and went with it every time. It gets so worth it when you’re around 50-100 hours of playing

@@anotherthing It's super easy too do that :) First mod costume badges (for this the consoles) on youre 3ds(or what you have) then you go too the house whit the wrench icon then on the mario badge and then on the world whit the wrench icon then on badges on folder..... (or something like that) then you drag the badge you downloaded like the gameboy advance on the folder and voila you finished :)

@@ItLosOfficial I'd say if you can find a good deal and are interested in playing 3DS games, totally. Emulator consoles usually don't have the two dedicated screens of a 3DS. So, there's always a cumbersomeness to playing DS and 3DS games on emulators for me. So yeah, I still think it's worth playing 3DS games on original hardware. It's still the best way to play those games, considering they were built with the handheld in mind.

Hshop, it has an on-device client that can directly download them like the eshop did. They dont have *every* game but they have an incredibly large majority of them.

It's from the Nintendo Badge Arcade. You can earn "Badges" in-game and it'll let you attach it to folders or decorate your home screen with any badges you collect.

For a 3ds with a 64gb card u should be more than fine, 3ds games dont need that much storage

Yes there is a dragon quest monsters 2 fan translation and it is available on hshop! there are problem other places you could find it but I personally use hshop

Not him but definitely upgrade that card, you're probably using the original card it came with which is honestly just enough for save files of cartridge games. I'm using a 64gb and that's been plenty so far, hes probably using a 128gb. You will need to format to fat32 it if its above 32gb but there's stuff online about that and the modding guide has an application that does it for you. You can keep all your saves by just copy and pasting the files

@@yuri-b1rd yw bro, just remember to move the files AFTER you format it because formatting deletes all the data on it. Alot of people know that but don't want to risk you losing all that important data

My 2ds is modded but I'm not brave enough to mess with my 3ds xl yet. I still enjoy it more than the Switch
