i see lots of people on here with those ultra decorated vests. one of them, a popular sd handler on yt, even takes pride in having her dog decorated "like a billboard". the big problem is their vests are either covered in patches that either are unclear or have little relevancy (i see a lot of handlers with almost "joke" patches, like for halloween someone dressed their sd in patches that said things like "do not contact spirit") or their vests themselves are designed in a way where it's very hard to read. for example, another sd was dressed in a specialty gingerbread-themed vest, and the text was almost unreadable. it reminded me of those death metal logos a bit. then they wonder why they're getting so much interaction from the public, why kids are coming up to them more etc... it's because nobody can read or understand the vest🤦 as someone who owns battlejackets i 100% understand the need to bedazzle everything but it's so much better just to have plain, readable, *accessible* text on a contrasting background reading "SERVICE DOG DO NOT INTERACT" and that's IT. no bells, whistles, no NOTHING.

I think there's a place for fun vests in certain circumstances, but most people will be served well on a daily basis with a more simple design :)

Hi! I need some help! My 7 month old Brittany puppy will not nap outside of his crate. We have just recently fenced in 2 acres of dog safe flat running land and let him play outside most of the day. He just does not get tired! I let him sniff so he gets mental and physical exercise but he never naps outside of his crate. He also does not love it crate, but he will go in and settle down for a treat! I really don’t know what to do! He never settles!

Hi Tucker in Training! Brittany's (especially adolescent ones!) are known for their abbundent energy! That means that you have to actively work to teach an off-switch. This means you'll want to cultivate and actually train for calm behavior. Have you worked on a "go to place" behavior yet? How about tether-training? Here's a video on teaching "go to place" that you can use in conjunction with teaching a stay and work up to longer periods of settling outside of the crate: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y16zgHyioqakgJY I also highly recommend tether training.
