Fantastic Progress! I just uploaded my painting tutorial today on how I did my T-80s!! Can't wait to deploy them against my Roommate (Pauls) West Germans and start doing battle reports!

The number in the black circle refers to the tanks tonnage and is printed on the (moving direction) right side of the front hull right above the tracks... The unit tactical sign is printed same place (moving direction) on the front left... The license plate is right in the center of the front lower hull... U can have a look on some wikipedia photos :-) and always make a tiny red dot in the center of every tank wheel (can also be seen on so many photos) u can cover the red dot with some brown/tan dust

I also have the west Germans and had the same question about the decal placement of the large numbers. I watched several videos of different time periods of actual Leo A5s in action and found that while all had different degrees of camo, none had the large numbers on them. They had smaller numbers. Maybe the decal sheets are generic west German and the 2A5s don’t use them? I’m holding off on the decals for now and do more research. If you find an answer please post it. Thx.

The camo looks great, been painting some NATO pattern by hand as well, the end result is worth the investment imo. Did u use the A6 cannons? they look too long for the A5 that basically uses the A4 cannon length on a longer turret.

I probably did use the A6 because I thought it looked cooler 🙂

@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall It does look cooler and more menacing, I served 5 years on a A4 as a gunner and my last year by the cavalry on a A5, always thought the cannon looked so short with the "new" turret 😄

Good looking jobs! How bad was the Tornados to build? I have a friend I bought the new British starter set for and I think the new Harrier kits mentally broke him, ha! I really want a West German force but I have a problem with doing anything that is not 1985, unless they eventually come out with a early/mid/late Third World War system. The Marder II never saw production (although they are pretty sexy looking!) and the A5s didn't enter service until '95. I built a West German army for a friend who has never played and I can't seem to get to play, maybe I can buy him out.

I wonder if you could source a old box of West Germans from the original release? Maybe check ebay? The Tornados are the worst of the lot but all they are really just Revell Plastic models. So if you've built their stuff before it's nothing new. Once assembled they clean up nice.

I was missing my second decal sheet too. Thanks for pointing it out in the other video. Did you use the Vallejo colors from the book for the camo?
