As a person with EDS and chronic pain, leg paralysis from herniated disk hitting nerves I’m very happy to hear you do not feel pain ❤ I also enjoy the fact that you are open about sharing your experience and educating others!
@emjohnson72072 жыл бұрын
I also had a herniated disk that split and I guess the gel came out and 'crushed some nerves' per surgeon. Bottom of foot numb but sitting too long in low position has me struggling to a bed or sofa to lay flat for a few minutes, because leg too painful to touch. Dr finally dx: "Radiculopathy describes a range of symptoms produced by the pinching of a nerve root in the spinal column. The pinched nerve can occur at different areas along the spine (cervical, thoracic or lumbar). Symptoms of radiculopathy vary by location but frequently include pain, weakness, numbness and tingling."

I have multiple sclerosis and have major numbness in my legs. I’ve always tried to describe it and never had a good definition. Your description of a “quiet pins and needles like your legs are asleep and trying to wake back up” is spot on. Thank you. It seems trivial- but as someone who gets asked this a lot, this was very helpful. ❤

I, too, have ms. I have the strangest ways of describing what I feel. I love how he says he can’t feel on his skin, but can feel pressure internally. That’s exactly how I feel. Stay strong, my friend, and never quit fighting. ❤
@PsychoKittee12 жыл бұрын
My 9yr MS Diagnosiversary was 9/10. I've struggled to explain "loss of sentation" to people. The whole can't feel the skin but can feel deep pressure is spot on. Then there are the places that are hypersensitive. 🧡
@krysd85942 жыл бұрын
@@PsychoKittee1 I don't have MS, but I do have extensive nerve damage. The deep pressure is definitely spot on. If you lightly touch my shoulder, the front of my chest, arm and upper back I don't feel it at all. But if you press harder (or I wear a bra) it goes to immediate pain. There's no in between it's nothing-> pain. Drives me nuts because it's hard to explain, and once I found an explanation that seems to make sense I get that look of 'are you making this up', or 'it shouldn't do that, it doesn't fit your condition ' etc.
@PsychoKittee12 жыл бұрын
@@krysd8594I'm truly sorry that you understand the pain. It's sometimes not easy to live within yourself, it's hard to explain it to people that don't want to learn. If they listen to respond instead of learn, I don't even try.
@krysd85942 жыл бұрын
@@PsychoKittee1 completely agree. A regular person I don't bother trying to convince, but medical personnel I have to get thru to. Part of my nerve damage is from Traumatic Combined Thoracic Outlet Syndrome; which isn't well known. That throws a wrench into everything because it isn't a simple condition or explanation.

I have a dumb herniated disc in my lower back and when it happened that's when I got a tiny insight into what that "tingling sensation" is like. I can't feel the outside of my lower leg or top of my foot and I can't bend my toes very well. If I don't take my medication, the nerve sensation is really painful for me. You have to be careful with nerves. I had back surgery when I was in my early 30’s for a ruptured disc. L5S1. I couldn’t walk. So did ok until I was 57. Then I developed drop foot. Surgery again that did not correct it. Physical therapy, some thing called needling. UGH! Nothing helped and it got worse where I cannot stand without holding onto something and use a walker. My foot tingles all the time as well as parts of my leg at times. Hope you don’t have further problems but the tingling sensation means the disc is pressing on the nerve and if it does it too long it can damage the nerve for good.
@0justBETHANY2 жыл бұрын
@@minniesmomma6374 mine is the same disc and I'm in my early 30s. Decided to not go surgery route and focus on PT. Tests showed the nerves are not being permanently damaged.
