3-6 months seems about right, despite The Pokemon Company International’s message that they will print more Scarlet and Violet - Prismatic Evolutions. Realistically there’s no way they can print any more than they are right now when Journey Together and the hyped Team Rocket set comes out in April.

It never made sense how one could pay $300 for a vintage pack hoping to pull the top chase which is $30 raw.... PSA 10 is 2k, but ppl know by now it's almost impossible to hit a 10 on high priced vintage. It makes sense for these cards to start climbing in raw value. But, there are so many out there simply bc the new generation of collectors prefer Full Alt Arts over little holos. This is why I won't ever buy high grade vintage. One day that 1st ed Neo Genesis PSA 8 Lugia u paid $1800 for could drop overnight to $800 instantly. I've seen it happen ALOT these past few years. Modern os soaring simply bc ppl finally figuring out Pokemon does not have unlimited supply/materials to print heavy. Why do u think no s&v set has seen a heavy reprint yet? We are in a cardboard crisis. There's only so much available.

Always look forward to your videos! I also have the same feeling that you have regarding that it's likely to take a downturn because I've seen this ebb and flow of Pokemon over the many many years I've been in it - not always as a seller but as someone who'd been a Professor, a player and a collector. Historically, the prices we see NOW are the prices that it would, under old "normal" conditions took 3-5 years (especially on sealed end). If Journey Together combines JPs Team Rocket into that set, it will accelerate the bust. I'm happy to grind out before the floor drops out inevitably so I'll be able to catch the next wave. Also shouts out and props to the editor for getting these put together for us to watch.

Hot take... Pokemon want to wean off the hobby channel because they are disgusted of what hobby distributors and some LGS are doing. Pokemon is a family oriented brand, they don't want to see booster boxes at $250+ one or two weeks after release. They want their products in the hands of Timmys and the soccer mom shopping at Target, Costco and through the D2C channel - Pokemon Center online. I think Pokemon rather work with big box stores to ensure their products are widely accessible across the country AT MSRP. In terms of Pokemon league, they can partner with Gamestop where they just need couple stores in each major cities to host the league. Alternately, Professors can nominate reputable LGS to become a league store and those stores can get products direct from Pokemon, but under contract not to be sold above MSRP.

@@rng-gamez Worse for LGS. Not for Pokemon. Big box stores will absorb all the inventory from the hobby channel. If anything, Pokemon will sell more products by focusing on the big box store channel without having angry parents complaining why Prismatic Evolutions ETB are 2x MSRP.

But why would the big retailers not want to renew their contracts with pokemon? Aren't they gonna WANT to do that because it's the easiest money they've made with anything they've listed being immediately sold?

I guess that makes sense considering other distributors and stores are suffocating right now. But if pokemon can see this coming, wouldn't they keep the amount being printed stable in anticipation of less product being allocated to big retailers and towards smaller stores/distros? That way they won't saturate the market and make their products stale again and hopefully create a controlled descent instead of another steep downturn.

Pokemon buying was way better 2003-2015 And way less people were sitting on sealed sets. Too many resellers at costco lately. Not sure why a wholesale store would only stock a 1/3 height pallet per store.
