Mr. pear circles aren't flat in a 2D world, they're only flat in our dimension because the definition of something being flat is when it has one dimension less than the current dimension or if it's really short in one of the dimensions, if you are in a 3D world, then a 2D circle would be flat because it has no height, and if you were in a 2D world, then a circle wouldn't be flat but a line would because it's missing one of the two dimensions, height (or width), but since there can't be a perfectly 2D circle in real life that has absolutely no height then there are technically no flat objects in our world but we're just gonna call them flat anyways because that's what they look like, the only time where it would matter is if you were using a microscope or something like that.

Because that's the features that they adapted to survive. Organisms adapt to their environment, and there's a thing called Natural Selection. When there are new organisms, the weak ones will usually die, and the stronger ones will survive and continue to create offsprings. There can sometimes be mutations and if it's useful, it'll be retained and through thousands, or millions of years, the creature will evolve. Humans have extreme intelligence, communication and the ability to work, and they don't need other features. Useless features get eliminated over time.
