i’ve been a blackpink fan long before rosé turned blonde, and to me is clear that their energy is just different. i don’t know how to explain it, but it seems like they got bored of the group (and i personally think it was due to their many hiatus), as yg constantly lacked in giving them group promotions they found something else that could fulfill their passions and also give them more freedom

I’m a huge blink! But I will say that something felt very odd this comeback. It seemed as if the girls weren’t really excited to Actually be back after so long.. the lack of energy started from the promotions, and you could feel some strange tension in the air. This makes me so extremely sad! But this is what happens when a group is not having consistent comebacks, they eventually grow apart and developing other internets other than music and preforming.

OMG same. Like they are my ults but I also became a stay during their hiatus. Seeing the difference in the chemistry between members of each of the group's really made me realise something was off. I Will always support the girls but I hope it's just because of how little time they've actually spent together. Like early years we got a lot of group content and now the last time we saw something variety wise was 24/365.

I remember, I was a huge blink up until last year. I own multiple BP fan accounts, and I just loved them. I was the type who thought BP was the best and groups like tw, aespa, rv are just not at their level. But I quickly lost interest and started listening to other groups, I barely even listen to BP songs, like I only know how to sing and dance bc they keep coming on my fyp. Now, I can’t believe how I used to think other groups suck bc they clearly are way more passionate then BP. I unfollowed all BP fan accounts bc I was just not interested anymore. I think they weren't exited cuz they were barely chatting or meeting this 2 years. Now they have more friends with whom they are close and comeback means less time with those new friends so ofc they wouldn't be happy. They were close when they lived together and working also. All groups are like this after some time. For example BTS, they seem more distant now when don't live together and they grew up also. But i think Blackpink were never even that close actually🤔 They never even considered themselves as best friends or something, i think. Even Lisa treats like her best friends only Sorn and Minnie and they seem more close to her🤔 No hate, just my thoughts

I’m not a BP stan but I casually listen to them since I listen to kpop. My only problem with them underperforming is they are dubbed as the “biggest girl group in the world” so naturally people expect them to have a level of professionalism and a higher level of performance compared to these other groups. Although I know some problems are rooted from the company and management but I just wished they somehow have the initiative to do better on their own.

This is what I've been saying. They are "the greatest girl group in the world" and their performances are worse than what trainees are expected to bring to the practice room. They've had 2 years to prep for this tour. With YG's headquarters, it should be possible even to do weekly practices of their choreography.

The final nail in the coffin for me was when Jennie even said (Elle interview posted just 3 days ago @ 1:00) that they didn’t sleep for four days while shooting a mv and they learned the choreography of shut down (I think first day of shooting?) last minute, like it was just thrown on them. Excuse me! that shouldn’t even happen, you had HOW LONG to prepare for A WORKD TOUR!? Management is also to blame however, what have the girls been doing all this time if not preparing for the album+ tour? Why couldn’t they have fit learning the choreography ahead of time into their schedules? Even when they had their individual projects they all had long intervals of breaks where they weren’t promoting solo work so explain this to me.

I agree that throwing them the choreo in the last minute is a sh*tty decision, but let's be fair - the choreo for Shut Down is not even that hard. For someone with dance training it may take a few hours to learn the steps and another few to master it. And I really don't understand why they filmed Shut Down for 4 days. It's a "box" MV. I get if there was action scenes, plenty of locations, etc., but come on! 4 days for a simple MV like that... Something doesn't add up.

I'm sure they all knew a comback and a tour are coming. And them being a 6-year old group, they know they have to prepare. So just team up, go to that management of yours and say "Yo, let's do something. Show us the choreo, show us this or that, anything". I mean, they could've learned the new choreos and rehearsed the old ones individually, nobody's saying that they have to be in the same room to do that.

I think that the disbandment might happen, mostly because all the groups that are older than 7 years have the tendency of not having a lot to comebacks and focus more on solos. Black pink Has this path even before the 7 years, making even harder to see a future with them plus many people are leaving YG; so their future is kinda complicated. Even if they leave and change agency the probability of having a comeback as a group is hard (most group that are in this situation only have one special presentation and that’s it).

yk as someone who stanned bp during the first few years since their debut, its kinda sad to see how their career AS A GROUP progressed. after the inconsistent comebacks i was starting to see the girls as separate influencers rather than girl group members/idols, and eventually i started losing interest in their projects. it didnt help that a good portion of the fandom were solo stans and constantly hating on other members. i still love the girls and hopefully all of this blows over.

So true! I used to stan BP ever since their debut era and the reason why I liked BP is because they had that vibes of 2NE1 and their music when they debuted was fire and EDM. And the members were also unique and had that YG signature looks. But... Idk, is it just me or ever since they released How You Like That, their music was like "manufactured"? And their chemistry ever since the HYLT era (actually since Kill This Love, I already felt it) was... Something. The members weren't as they used to during their debut until "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du". Not that we blame YGE for Blackpink's situation but it's just that how YG handles the group right now was "messy" at some sort. Idk, the group feels a little bit odd right now. And I gotta admit, ever since the few months after Kill This Love was released, I slowly didn't follow the group anymore and the feels weren't as the same as how I discovered them in their early debut years (especially with their recent comeback with Pink Venom, I mean it's a bop and their recent album is as well but... Idk, they just feel odd right now) and it's just sad and concerning...

I have been a blink since debut, i have never, ever loved any group as much as i loved blackpink. THEY were what got me into kpop in the first place. So yeah, i have seen it all, i have witnessed every comeback, i have witnessed every teaser, i have witnessed every controversy. I have seen all of their vlives (remember when that was a thing?) since 2016/2017. I was A DEVOTED blink for the period of 2016-2018. Like i was legit obsessed back then. For me at least, something has shifted in blackpink in 2019 after their comeback with “LET’S KILL THIS LOVE” i was still very obviously excited for that, but since then; something has changed. And i can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe because they become mainstream? Maybe because every member started focusing more in her solo activities? I don’t know. Since then, their main titles became unlistenable to me. I would literally get so excited and attend the comeback premier only to be extremely disappointed by the end of it. Suddenly, everyone’s focus was how much the MV costed ? How many views can we get on the release day? How many groups are we going to surpass in the the release day views? How are we going to diss the “haters” in our music lyrics? They lost their touch, i still follow them and watch their news from time to time, but i feel i lost my passion for them completely right know. Its so weird, its like looking at someone you have always loved and not recognize them. You begin to question yourself “did i actually like this group THAT MUCH?” It feels so odd and foreign to me. I cannot recognize my love or passion for them anymore, let alone the members, the group, the songs… it lost all meaning to me now. And its incredibly sad.

me too. I used to check up on them daily and my entire KZbin feed was full of them and their shows. I loved their music and I knew every lyric and choreo. I was obsessed with them and they truly made me happy. They made me want to see what the K- Pop industry really was. When they went on hiatus I started taking interest in other groups and since then I didn't really notice blackpink that much. Their new releases were something very different for me, and to be honest I wanted to love it as much as I loved their songs before hiatus and support them. Blackpink felt so different and like they had lost their spark (a lot of rumours could be the cause). They also at the time had (and still do) a huge amount of solo fanbases, with each and every video I saw of them praising one member and disregarding others, even hating on members that weren't their bias. Seeing all of these comments made me wonder why I even liked blackpink so much. Seeing the way their fandom changed from loving all of the girls to becoming solo fans and constantly arguing with others about which group was better, and watching the pinks become seemingly less and less passionate about music really hurt and since then I didn't like them as much. Thinking about this truly hurts because they were my first K-Pop group and I don't think I'll love them like I did before. I was a blink from 2018- 2020 and now I'm more of a casual listener. I spent so much of my time with them.

BlackPink was my first ever introduction to K-Pop and I still love so many of their old songs but how the group is now and their newest songs I just feel neutral about, I’ve lost interest when there are so many other groups that have really good discographies in comparison. The biggest reason why I’ve withdrawn completely at this point is the fandom itself, go to any of the comments of any related videos to the Born Pink tour and it’s honestly disgusting how everyone is just arguing with each other and it reeks obsessed from a lot of people. The fandom has been cannibalizing itself and it’s disheartening and truthfully disturbing to see happen.

YG doesn’t manage Somi. YG is just the parent company of Black Label. A parent company is a company that owns more than 50% of another company. It’s not a department or label of YG, it is a totally separate company that has different employees and different people making decisions.

Tbh I don't know why everyone is putting all the blame and pressure on blackpink? I mean YG is the one who manages the girls and we can all see how they destroyed big bang and 2ne1 potential and talents by cutting and missing many opportunities that would show their true and full potential. Before the bornpink tour, blackpink was never doing nothing, in fact they were working in their own projects not just attending modeling and fashion shows. To me it seems like YG just straight up set the girls up by arranging the tour without letting them practice way more because bp did practice but it wasn't enough for a big worldwide tour. Blackpink is getting better these days only the first 3-4 concert performances were a mess but still YG is truly evil by setting bp up for hate, cuz why the h3ll they made bp lip syncing ? And give them terrible stage arrangements? Blackpinks past tour was amazing one of the best concert I've ever attended. Not only YG gave them proper time to practice but they gave them constant real kpop idol activities. YG is the real problem here but I guess many people just refuse to see reality.

Saw them in L.A. on 11/19/22. Blackpink and Blinks were in sync. Everyone was jumping and had a monster great time. Rose’ even said she never heard an audience so loud. They looked like they were having a lot of fun. If they disband, it’ll be because it’s time for something new; not because they don’t get along.

And, in NO WAY did they make me feel that they weren’t feeling it, didn’t like each other, etc. Rose even said in LA this was their first stadium concert. They were so in awe. The sea of pink! And when they interacted with the audience and the camera, they had SO much fun! On Day 2 for LA, when they sat and watched the fireworks 😭😭😭 If they’re are going to disband after this, it’s 100% YG.

I don't think that's really accurate. 2NE1 was having a lot of issues long before Blackpink debuted. 2NE1 wasn't "disbanded to debuted blackpink". It's more like Blackpink was launched when it became clear that 2NE1's problems could not be easily solved. Around 2011/12, 2NE1 and YG seemed to have gotten burned in a project with Will.I.Am that ended up producing nothing usable for 2NE1, so that was a couple of years and money pretty much wasted. I'm a big blackjack and Lee Hi fan from way back, but I was aware of 2NE1's issues before I even knew anything about Blackpink. I remember when Park Bom did the "All I Want for Christmas" duet with Lee Hi in 2014 and the comment sections were full of almost nothing but hate "druggie" comments aimed at Bom (due to the ridiculous "drug scandal"). I didn't agree with the characterization of the scandal, but there was no denying that YG was having a hard time putting it to rest. There were nasty news reporters (one in particular) who literally made a campaign out of it and fed the haters. On top of that, Minzy was apparently very unhappy. People speculate that it was because she never got a solo project while all the other members got at least one or several. But nobody knows for sure because Minzy never confirmed the exact reason why she refused to renew her contract. Basically, by the time Blackpink was ready to debut, 2NE1 really only had CL and Dara. I certainly agree that YG shares a lot of the blame for mismanagement. But the mismanagement occurred long before Blackpink was ready to debut. YG has had up to 5 or more active boy groups on its roster at a time, so I don't think it ever was a case where the company decided that they just wanted to dump 2NE1 in order to bring out a new girl group. If there hadn't been other problems (including an apparent mid-life crisis of YHS, where he wanted to spend all of his time and money making reality survival shows starring himself), there would have been no difficulty in keeping 2NE1 going alongside Blackpink.

As a blink/big fan of them since pre-debut, I attended BOTH their world tours in Hamilton back in 2019 and now the most recent one this November 2022. I think those clips that other people have spread on the internet look pretty bad but when I went to their concert just a few days ago, I found all the members working very hard, dancing a lot, and especially I was surprised by Jennie's energy, you could literally hear her yelling into her mic each time when rapping or singing, and hyping the crowd (I even have many clips of the concert that showcase this). I felt like each of the members were all still on good terms since in the encores where they casually sing their B-side songs in their concert merch and without a dance routine, there was so much interaction between Rose/Lisa and Jisoo/Jennie. They were hugging, making hearts, dancing together, and even hyping each other up to twerk etc. Even in the beginning, Jennie almost injured her ankle but she sat down for a few seconds to re-tie her boots and Lisa and Rose both checked up on her during it. As well, in the VIP send-off, fans were telling Jisoo how excited they are for her solo song and she responded saying she's really excited and can't wait for it too. I don't think that Blackpink will disband as it seems like they do want to stay together as a group, but I think they are tired of their old songs and want more musical freedom for sure.

So "sounds different" means different...literally. There is a lot of variety. Happiest Girl is totally different from Pink Venom. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah is totally different from those two songs. Stay is different from all of the aforementioned. You really have to stretch concepts into meaningless generalities to claim that all of their songs are the same. Of course they are the same group and the members have the same voices. But given those obvious realities, they have more variety than most idol groups. I would like to see them explore more complex harmonies where they're all singing together in harmony, rather than in sequence and more songs like the Happiest Girl. But that kind of thing is generally not done in Kpop at all and YG doesn't seem to want their groups to do those kinds of things. But the BP members have shown that they are capable of it.

I went to both concerts in Dallas , Houston and Day 1 of ATL. The concerts were all great, my only slight complaint was that the concerts seemed short...but maybe that is because of the saying "time flies when you're having fun". Either way the concerts were worth every dollar I spent, and I still have one more concert to attend in CA. As for them disbanding, I won't believe a thing about it until I hear about something from either YG or the Pinks themselves. If they stay as a group that is great! IMO they are at their best as OT4. The Kpop gossip sites have been making up these kinds of stories for the past couple of years (and more). The reality is there are no clear or definite signs or evidence that they plan to disband anytime soon. Fans were begging for solo content from Rose and Lisa (just like they're begging for Jisoo's solo content now). And when YG actually set aside a year to give content from both Rose and Lisa and for Jisoo to star in a whole drama, some fans and gossip sites started using the solo activities (including Jennie's new solo song and Rose's new solo song) as "evidence" that the group is going to disband. There's no way to win. If they don't produce any solo content, some fans and gossip sites constantly make up stories about mistreatment and constantly ask "where are the members' solo opportunities?" As a casual Blackpink listener I can definitely see that their dynamic has changed. I don’t necessarily think it means they aren’t friends just, that they outgrew each other during their hiatus. It seems as though they have a more of a co worker relationship than familial which makes sense as they weren’t seen together during that two year period. It’s probably hard to reconnect and be as close as they originally were before because they are different people now (more mature). Sometimes these things just happen. I wouldn’t be suprised if disbandment is in the near future. I saw some comments say that each of the girls won’t be successful as solo artist but I don’t think that’s true. Rather it is because there are so many solo stans that they are able to have established solo projects already apart from the group. This tour is also probably YG’a last attempt to get money from blinks before their contracts are up, hence why the ticket prices are so high. Regardless, who knows what the future holds Im sure whatever the outcome, the girls will remain happy.

BP are the perfect example of how far one can get in the industry when one is beautiful, because honestly, that is all they have going for them (please note that I am talking about the group and not the individuals. I started out as a fan, but I can't say I've enjoyed anything they've released since 뚜두뚜두, which came out 5 years ago. As a k-pop fan of over 15 years I find it incredibly offensive when an agency treats fans as these brainless zombies that will just support everything and keep buying everything no matter the quality of the output. Why is it that a group with only 2 studio albums has 4 live albums? Make it make sense. And the dumb thing is that fans keep buying and supporting this nonsense. The songs they have released since 2018 have been the same song over and over and over, and yet people keep supporting it. Meanwhile, there are so many incredibly talented and hardworking idols that are much more deserving of BP's fame but get completely overlooked because they are from smaller companies (or maybe not as physically attractive as the BP girls are). Even their seniors, 2NE1, a far more talented group in my humble opinion, were disbanded for no fucking reason other than that YG wanted to bet everything on BP (in my opinion because they are conventionally more attractive girls. It is no secret that YG thought the 2NE1 girls were ugly and even said it to their face multiple times). I understand that this has always been the case in the industry, but I think that as k-pop becomes more global we need to start thinking about whether we want beauty to be the new standard, and whether we want these ridiculous beauty standards that have been upheld in the k-pop industry for so long to transfer to other markets. We need to stop rewarding beauty without substance. And we need to demand agencies give us quality MUSIC, because k-pop is about music, ultimately. Nothing wrong with having good visuals, but if there's no real talent to back it up then you are just taking up space for nothing. Disband BP, let's see which one of these girls can hold up in the industry on their own.

As a competitive dancer myself, I don’t understand how ppl can defend them. They have been in the industry for a very long time, and they have had plenty of off time to work on their skills. Not to mention that they have a very little number of songs with choreography so it shouldn’t be that hard to remember if they actually tried. Also they are so unsynchronized even when they have only four members. There are groups that are in sync with much larger amounts of members. I mean how hard can it be to be in sync with each other especially when their choreography is much easier than some other groups?? The group was well-bonded. The hiatus has made them apart each focusing on their solo careers. There haven't even been many group interactions or B-side clips of them finally spending time together. Honestly, I'll be happy if they disband. Not because I hate them, but because it's obvious how little passion they have for music (except Rosie). It feels like one actress, two models and one indie singer perform a song or two every now and then (and I'm saying "perform", because we all know how little the members participate in the writing and producing their musical content). They already have their fame, each member has her own huge fanbase, so the girls can go their separate ways officially. Now it's not official, but we all can see what's going on - they can't even ACT excited while performing or doing group activities, it's that bad... And I don't think it's because they communicate rarely. I mean look at SNSD - so many years in the industry, every member does her own thing, but their comeback this year was such a banger. Not only the song was good, but you could feel the energy, the chemistry, you could feel that they missed each other, the fans, the stage as one, as a group. With BP I'm not feeling any of these things... So if it's such a burden for them, let them end their contract, disband and just do what they wanna do.

I mean, it's kind of obvious that the group is reaching either the end or some sort of long hiatus. They've stopped evolving and being able to release anything original. Same happened with BTS. They said everything they wanted to say by the time they finished the Map of the Soul series. BE happened as a pandemic album and from inspiration from that historic event. Both of these groups have a lot more to creatively share as individuals at this point in their career.

I don't think there are really any clear signs of disbandment or problems in the members' relationships. The only real difference is that for this comeback there was no reality show made to go along with the comeback. Instead, they went straight into the world tour. In the past, we got to see them having a lot of fun with each other in Blackpink House and in "The Album" era we got to see them having a lot of fun together in the "24/365" show. It makes a difference in perception. With fresh memories of them joking with each other and going places together in those shows, fans perceive them as being very close. This time, that kind of show was not made, so fans don't have that same perception. But in reality, there is no reason to think that they aren't just as close as they always have been. But they are older, more experienced and have had a lot more success. So their more mature way of behaving may be misinterpreted as them being less close with each other.

Your basing that on a few short clips that negativity sites have compiled, while ignoring all of the highlights, the generally excellent performances and the fact that the overwhelming majority of concert-goers have nothing but the highest praise for the show. It's like some of these sites are showing the same clips over and over of an athlete dropping a ball, tripping and bumping into another player and adding a narrator voice talking about how clumsy, poorly trained and horrible the athlete is. But what they aren't showing is that the athlete actually scored the most points in the game, got the most assists and the crowd loved the athlete. You can literally persecute anyone if you take the approach of only showing mistakes, not showing successes and making up a narrative that is exaggeratedly negative in every respect.

I do believe black pink has potential but now it feels like they just used the initial days for building up popularity and now misusing the Fans' love and performing like this in the concerts, going g for fashion shows and then releasing one or two songs in ages. If TVXQ, Wondergirls, SeoTaiji and boys are called to perform now, they'd do 10000 times better than them. As a fan of blackpink as a kpop idol group, they should do justice in preparing and practicing for the millions of dollars they are getting after each shitty performance they does. They chose to be idols, the brands came after the love we gave them. People defend them saying they have injuries, but all kpop idols does have the same, releasing 4 5 albums a year, working hard on songs and other schedules. I have seen BP twerking and playing around ,I didn't find any injuries and only when they have to perform they have injuries. The rich people don't have any issues, only those who save each penny to support these artists does have that pain. And thanks to Lisa people didn't walk of the concert.
