It realy makes sence. Taka was unloved and always mistreaded by his father who put status above his relationship with his own son. He kept young Taka away from his mother not letting him be with the lionesses, while Mufasa got to be with her every day and received all the love that Taka deserved too. Taka allowed Mufasa to win not because like Ashe thought because it was the right thing, but because he wanted a brother. All his childhood he felt emotionaly abandoned by his parents. Not being very much obeying as many cubs are, Taka was also quite strictly treated by his mother too. Mufasa became the only one he could trust. When his home was attacked by the outsiders he lost his parents and with Mufasa by his side he clung to him emotionaly even more. With Sarabys appearance he came to Mufasa aksing for his help to start a relasgionship with him, but learninsg she liked Mufasa more and him knowing Taka was in love with her, still not rejecting her, he felt betrayed by the only one he could ever trust and gave in to as Rafiki said a hurt so strong that it turns into hate. In the end of the movie Taka asked for Mufasa's forgiveness, but was emotionaly rejected again byvthe one he could trust even when he felt he could not trust even his parents. And that change in his look was quite expressive showing the moment of his heart braking for ever.

I didn’t watch the movie ( because I knew it wasn’t going to be good ) but I agree . It’s DEFINITELY not enough for the vengeance scar has in the original movie . You would think that Mufasa did something completely messed up for scar to be the way he is . I guess they just assumed that his exile after words was enough to build that hate in scar , but honestly the whole movie could have been from that point . Idk I again I didn’t see the movie but from what others are saying , I also agree that this was just bad and almost felt like lazy story and character writing

I think it could have worked better if Mufasa was fully accepted into his new pride and got all the praise, making Taka feel like his family loves a stranger more than him. That would cause resentment from the beginning of their brotherhood, and be way more convincing than yet another love triangle. Also, I don't see why Kiros wants to kill literally all of the other lions, let alone how he managed to do it (except for the remaining ones in Milele). Like, he wants to be king, sure, but why not just kill the other kings and take over their prides, so he can grow his army?
@danielcapela124623 күн бұрын
I don't know if it's the case, but for what i get is, Kiros and his pride were ostracized by others lions simply for their white fur, making them different. They probably endured such treatment for so long (maybe years) to the point were they only have rage and hatred in their minds and hearts. So, in their mind, all lion prides have to pay for the unfair rejection of the white lions. Or that, or Kiros is simply a social darwinist, an extreme believer of "survival of the fittest", meaning that in order to his pride to thrive, all others must perishe. I might be wrong ,but thats my thoughts.

I think the film makers intended to keep the story simple so that kids can follow. I personally felt that some places actually had room to go deep. I don't agree with the plot of betraying brother who's been together for so many years just for a girl known for a week. The intensity of scar's character in previous film and his evil strategies was 🔥. But in this film they showed him like a stupid. Takka never wished for the throne and his character throughout was so innocent and lovable, then how did scar got so much hate, evil and greed towards mufasa?
@Fnandeep26 күн бұрын
I agree with your comment but "keeping the story simple for kids" part.. A great story is one that anyone can follow without hesitation, regardless of who is watching. Take a quick look at some classic Disney movies like Ratatouille or Monsters University. At first glance, they are easy to follow and enjoyable for both kids and adults. However, when you rewatch them later, you realize there’s a deeper meaning to the story, even though the plot remains simple to follow. I really appreciate your comment! thanks for sharing your opinion
@Tvibes_ZA13 күн бұрын
I think the issue with this is they are playing it too safe . Everyone who enjoyed the original movie are grown now yet they still love Disney . Disney makes these remakes for the nostalgia factor , ya they are made for a new audience , but honestly a new audience shouldn’t be introduced to a remake of an original that’s still available. If you’re going to make a remake or a prequel to already established characters , you have to keep the core audience of the original movies in mind because at the end of the day the only reason people take their kids to see remakes is because THEY fell in love with the original and want to see the remake . It’s why Disney has this remake criticism. They are trying to hard to recreate something that was revolutionary for its time , something that can’t be remade in this current time . Kids have terrible attention spans these days and if your movie lacks color and character development , it’s just a waste of money and talent that could have been put in a better future Disney movie .

Man, at least The Lion Guard story makes more sense. In the episode “Battle for the Pride Lands” we get a flashback of Scar being leader of the Lion Guard, and during those times, he met a strange lion (potentially Zira’s father) who had wisdom and power and said the most powerful should be king. He convinced Taka that with the help of him and the roar of the elders, they could rule the pride lands. Taka found this idea intriguing, and began to think that this lion was right. However, the strange lion was scheming and told a blue cobra to bite Taka in the eye. Then he convinced Taka that he can cure the snake’s venom if he listens to him, but Taka didn’t listen to him, and used the roar of the elders to kill him and the cobra. Then he went to tell Mufasa what happened, expecting to be praised, but Mufasa playfully teased him and called him “Scar” which is when Scar knew that Mufasa shouldn’t be the king. That’s the story of the animated version of Scar, which, in my opinion, makes more sense than the live action version.

Or less tragic since Scar was one of Disney's most evil villains who enjoys his wicked deeds with pleasure and zero remorse, especially killing Mufasa so having the origin story be less tragic would help solve the problem since that6 doesn't suit him. @WiktoriaMartaKrawczyk24 күн бұрын
If this story had been told from Scar's point of view instead, the villain of the first movie would look like too sympathetic from kids' perspective. Bear in mind that this is a story created with little children in mind so the creators cannot allow themselves to make bad guys provoke TOO MUCH sympathy. Adult viewers mostly undestand that some actions (such as taking a brother's life) are NEVER morally justified (with rare exceptions, like self defense ofc), regardless of the amount of suffering the violent person has gone through so the Anakin-centred movie from my childhood was a good idea as a story aimed at grown-ups. Many minors may often conclude that if a villain is too sympathetic, then maybe the protagonist is actually in the wrong while defeating them. I still like sympathetic villains and, don't get me wrong, they can work even in kids' popculture but there have to be some limits.

This is how to write Mufasa. He's a big brother who loves his younger brother Taka. One day, an accident happens and Taka gets hurt (got that famous scar). He use it to get permission on ruling Pride Rock together with Mufasa. Later Mufasa learn Taka/Scar deliberately let himself get hurt to keep on guilt tripping him. That's when Mufasa put Scar/Taka in his place, but he didn't exile him due to his promise to his parents (which cause the Lion King stampede event)

You can't deny the fact that Taka had a father who didn't really care for his feelings, he just had the intention to show that Taka was better than Mufasa. So, he didn't let Taka near the lionesses, just kept him away, he didn't get the love and attention he deserved. And that's why, earlier Taka lost the race to Mufasa just so he can have somebody he can trust. The only thing that Taka actually wanted after long years was Sarabi, and Mufasa accepting her as his mate just broke him. Like, in reality if there's one female and 2 males then the 2 males are eventually gonna mate with that one. But, this is a Disney movie, so this is a straight bro code violation...Like imagine you've crush on a girl for damn long and your brother marries her, has to suck that badly. Taka's poor behaviour and social skills is there due to his father, else Taka was quite good in shape till they reached Milele. As Taka isolated himself, didn't eat a lot, so he didn't grow much when he could, as he was still a sub-adult, so that's why in the first movie he was so thin, else Taka would've been as big or maybe even bigger than Mufasa. Everything is just messed up, and even at last Mufasa said he won't call him Taka anymore just broke him completely. But, ya could say that the only thing Scar was sad for was losing Sarabi, maybe that one thing could've stopped him from being the villain? In the first part Mufasa just makes that forgetful, as if he never knew that Scar liked Sarabi, but Scar had his lines indicating a lot of things which makes sense now "I was always first in the line or don't you remember?"
@catmummy6 күн бұрын
@prayasdash yes taka was unloved but that was still not Mufasa's fault and when Sarabi chose Mufasa as he was the dominant male still doesnt justify Scars betrayal,except that he got envious everytime people would praise Mufasa,it was his misleaded upbringing and his envy that made him the villian.When he betrayed his brother Mufasa atleast could have a chance to express his anger as he dearly loved him, he still forgave him instead of banishing him.Taka had developed victim mentality which pushed him further to hate mufasa.this is also depicted in the song when he says that he will look down on everything when hes the king and Mufasa corrects him that the birds are free they look down at us.pity😔.

I think Taka was also just sick of living in Mufasa's shadow, as Mufasa was better than him at literally everything (connecting to the land, saving his mom, hunting), and him winning over Sarabi as well was the last straw that made him snap. He had saved Mufasa's life and felt betrayed when he still accepted the lioness as his mate that Taka had a crush on. Then, even after he realized it was wrong to betray his brother back, Mufasa doesn't really forgive him, agreeing to call him Scar from now on. Considering all this, and the fact that he was raised by a lion who was a jerk, makes his villan ark work for me.

Scar and Mufasa originally had a much more compelling story than the movie. Originally they were blood brothers, Mufasa being the first born and Taka being second. Mufasa being the heir meant he was favored more than Taka. They were so convinced he was going to the best ruler that his name means to rule. Taka was hated so much that he was named garbage/waste. You can really see why Scar envied Mufasa. Not only did Taka envy him, Mufasa always picked on Taka, fueling his hatred more. Mufasa gave Taka the nickname Scar to belittle him. You could see the reasoning behind Taka's hate for Mufasa. Personally, I would have wanted to see that story turn into a movie more than what was given. Not only is the story weaker, they failed to give the characters personality. Scar is a genius in The Lion King and it wasn't shown at all. The Mufasa movie is hated by people who like Lion King and people who've only seen Mufasa.

I guess I don't understand the amount of hate for this story from scars' perspective, because in his point of view, he is a failure in every way and couldn't even save his mom. He didn't understand how to have a real connection with the gals because of how his father taught him He was superficial because he felt he needed to be to impress anyone. He didn't have faith in himself. It makes sense in this story why he became an " incel" type character. He felt entitled to sarabi like how he felt entitled to be king. I think the story did a good job with portraying that... but it also feels like scar deserves a better story because his character is so interesting and infamous.

Mufasa was a great movie if you value brotherhood and legacy. If you don’t. Then you truly won’t understand. And what if the movie ended where it did to leave room for a sequel to the prequel and make that movie about scar? The end of this movie made scar scar. Also scar ended as a good guy who was shamed. He still has to grow his hatred and jealousy for his brother that leads to the events of lion king. This movie left room for that movie. I think a lot of yaw wanted this movie to lead to lion king but why would yaw ever think they would be one and done. This movie was great for what it was. It made sense and was easy to digest. Attention grabbing while also being attention keeping. Some of the themes may have flown over some of your heads because you can’t relate. But also expectation kills happiness. If you went into the movie with the idea of the movie you wanted then you were never going to like this movie. You have to have no expectation to truly enjoy things for what they are.

OK, Some things that haven't been raised . I actually like they're not blood brothers , people keep asking why they did this . This is actually one of the few things that works well imo . Scar has it put to him from his father, that he will be king some day . He's entitled by blood and has no brothers . When Mufasa enters the picture , he gets the brother he wanted . All through the film Mufasa has no intention of being a king and its something Scar wants. The other killing blow for Scar isn't just his love interest choosing Mufasa , it's the fact that Mufasa is basically democratically elected to be the new king at the end of the film after proving his worth . Overall this film had potential , but there were things I'd have loved to have seen done differently . Scars betrayal and the groups awareness of it , is by far the worst decision the writers made . Besides feeling rushed, it undermines the shock value Mufasa has when he is ultimately betrayed in the original by showing Scar doing it to him once before . In the original , Scar is simply perceived to be this grumpy brother who mostly keeps to himself . There's love from Mufasa for Scar, even if he doesn't quite understand what his problem is. And this is the point . Had this film been executed differently , we could have had the happy ending , with everybody none the wiser that Scar is bitter and full of envy . Everybody distrusts Scar by the end of this film and logically , it should follow into the future. They could still have had Scar betray Mufasa but it should of been kept under wraps at least - that everybody is none the wiser . This would of been even more workable if Scar saved Mufasas life as shown when he has a change of heart and intervenes in the fight . To mufasa it would of been his brother simply jumping in to save him , so gaining his trust and strengthening his love for him further . But Scar has done it out of guilt , and whatever love he has left for mufasa . Muufasa being crowned king then deals the final blow where Scar wants him gone leading to the events of the first film . I mean I cringed when Scar blurts out all his resentment and anger to mufasas face . Should never have happened like that

All Disney remakes are unnecessary. One good one is maleficent because , while it was a story about sleeping beauty , it followed a different main character and expanded on an already existing character . It didn’t try and change the original sleeping beauty . The events of core concept stays but perspectives are different and so is character motivation. The only other remake that was good was the jungle book but the most resent one ( which I don’t even think was made by Disney ). Disneys hate for 2d animation is why it’s falling . The companies strongest power was the 2d animation style . I would have liked it if Disney stuck with 2d and Pixar stayed with the 3D model . Dream works also should have stuck to the 2d animation . Princess and the frog was I belive their last 2d project and it was amazing and showed that you can use modern methods to still pull off 2D. It’s just easier to make emotions clear on characters . Encanto , Moana 1, tangled and frozen were probably their most successful 3D models ? But again those movies take a different perspective on characters and new motivations and even sprinkling new cultural material for the audience. Idk it just now with the introduction of streaming sights , it feels like there is no care and time being put into consumable media . Probably due to the fact they have to get episodes and movies out quicker to keep up with the demand of watch time steaming sites demand . It’s why the writers strike happened to begin with and I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie was a so terrible because it might have been made by that time .

And his father didnt let him, Sarabi choose Mufasa over him when he told Mufasa he loved her. And Mufasa toke the thrown. and also banished him. so YES i think someone would become evil like that especially a disney character. And people are forgetting that there journey was just to find Mufasas family sure taka was coming with to the land but there was nothing else in it for him. Either way this story isnt even supposed to be about scar its supposed to be about mufasa. theres a reason why the movie is called mufasa in the first place. so many people loved this movie including me and it was very much needed. i also loved how they added kiara and her newborn baby brother with nala and simba. period

So, my takeaway from this video is that Mufasa killed Kimba?

They made mc a villan and named mufasa.They should changed the name as taka/scar than mufasa. If he orhan they should have shown family for a few seconds as memory then they should dive deep into scar tragedy and also making both equal just like lion king has done. Some point rember parents but mufasa then realize he should live when taka and family giving hope live but ignoring the father. Aslo they could mufasa previous flims's as a reference in when simba leave pride land and same lion who experienced it and that how he think he should live in flim but it Is now perspective of mufasa and conflict taka and mufasa begins when enemy arrives on the other relationship break when two fall one sarbi the lioness but musfa love deep slower compare to taka but in some point taka described the that make break even harder that he no choice keep his feelings inside that because he can't loose his brother taka the one who rescued rescued him the from danger but in some point he need rescued sarabi but he mentioned taka by not hurt his brother but it wound more deeper than taka has ever has such as his mother, will help other also like king as compared to his brother but until he taken away love his life he couldn't bare.But then he realize what his father told about consciousness he have face even though he didn't like father and they should father more edge /lighter version scar emotion of scar inthe previous movie and and morality wise mufasa but with more complexity because this time there 2 who are to the heir thrown he has more responsibility he has to handle because taka who is true heir so if he accept mufasa it or not but mufasa orphan. If mufasa true son different story but he more mature / darker version than mufasa in the lion king movie he truly loyal to rule to pride that is why he didn't leave land when heard enemy is coming with villan kiros and they should executing him well written as villain character and he how you should pride land in better change rule nature order according keep the balance to the land also more scarier in morales of than scar but physically more some is prides haven banish and some he wants to take revenge but he fail but scar achieved it because of intellcatual in story and after that showing face of between father and villan in the movie at end father loose. After this shift to mufasa and taka taking back land both with different path I mentioned in this and this should have been story but if they used og story of mufasa and taka as real they could have pul of few element that working cgi as result it will not feel stretched when it had released ..... Mufasa movie 🚫 Scar movie ✅️

I dont know about any of you guys but the last time i went to mufasa the movie theater was filled and there wasnt any seats left. So many people loved this movie so stop gaslighting some story just becuase scars back story wasnt good enough. Theres a reason why its called Mufasa in the first place. Its not about scar its about Mufasa so stop complaining about it. Also a lot of you guys are saying the movie was childish and so were the songs. and i know most of us are older then 12 years old so hear i go speaking facts. THIS DAMN MOVIE IS FOR KIDS. PERIOD. I loved the story on how scar went through so much and i especially love Sarabis and Mufasas story on how they fell in love. I also think that it was very dumb on how there needed to be more, more, more in this story and there wasnt enough already. I bet the writers didnt want to fill children up with random information that will confuse them. I loved the movie and so did everyone else and that movie was very much needed. period

I agree. Disney tried their best to make this a FAMILY film. Not just for 12 and up its for children too.

Bro you told the story wrong. Tala saved Mufasa several times. Mufasa was told his destiny is to protect the future king taka. Taka told Mufasa he loves sariba and he felt betrayed when he seen them. Even after all this at the end taka saved Mufasa once again. And how does Mufasa pay him back by accepting being the king and telling taka he will never call his name

I would not care if it was focused on Mufasa or scar just as long as it was the backstory of both of them. Maybe they could have called it Mufasa and Scar the lion king. As long as both of them were in it I didn't care who it focused on. I think they had an equal share of screen time except Mufasa had a little bit more towards the beginning. In the middle of the pond. There's not much to see on scar side other than him being born and waiting to get a brother. At least I'm Mufasa side his parents died or got washed away in a flood and Mufasa got separated which is more action packed than watching scar just get bored and waiting to find a brother. Mufasa but as I said. I always wanted to know what happened in between the two brothers. It doesn't matter who the movie focused on. It was going to tell us how scared evil regardless. It was good except I was expecting a Mufasa and Scar fight at the end. I enjoyed the movie and left speechless.

The movie is not trash I’m standing with the idea that it could be better. They could create an interesting background of Scar’s past from scratch because we didn’t really now much. Saying that “there is not much to say” it doesn’t make sense due to they could have created something completely unexpected. (A clear example is Better Call Saul, they created a whole new story based on some characters and events that happened in the original show Breaking Bad) and I think they could’ve done something similar in this situation and they just wasted that chance.. However, I like the risky idea of Scar and Mufasa weren’t real brothers but the execution was disappointing and you can see with Scar’s motivations and regrets about his decision, everything happened really quick

OK, first of all, I don’t care what you haters say. Y'all can say whatever y’all want. The movie is iconic and you guys are mad because the movie is dope. my favorite song is I always wanted a brother. The only thing I wish is that it was longer.

I respect your opinion and it's fine if you like the movie but it doesn't mean that Disney wasted a good opportunity to make a masterpiece with Scar's backstory

I agree with you, i loved the movie, it was amazing, idk if i think they could have done something different with Scar's story but i loved him as a character. I think the movie is at least fine. Not everything they produce has to be some multi layer mastermind story, not all the movies have to be the same type of masterpiece.

Despite Many criticisms. I still liked the film. It was decent film. The plot of the movie was to tell a story of Mufasa. I dont understand why people are jumping around and wanted the movie to explain more about scars history ?? The movie was about Mufasa and his rise to kingdom. Scar was just a character that played his part as a supporting actor to the group.
