This game was an absolute masterpiece. I played it without knowing what it was and I was hooked from start to finish. The impression I got when playing it was it was a game crafted with vast amounts of love. It was amazingly polished and lean, like everything just belonged there.

I really enjoyed this video except the part saying there aren’t many successful games with an isometric pov as an artistic choice. Just a few would be Avernum, Disco Elysium, Diablo 4, Encased, Jagged Alliance 3, Path Of Exile, Pillars Of Eternity, Tunic, Tyranny, Wasteland 3 and literally all of Supergiant’s other games. Good games can and are designed using an isometric pov all the time.

There's this one channel called "Innuendo Studios" where they have a video called "Story Beats: Bastion", which is actually the fourth video in a four-part series that goes into a late-game story beat for Bastion, in order to illustrate examples of video games doing something, or rather making him feel something, that no other medium has done before. It's a very good watch, I highly recommend watching all of his Story Beats videos.
