Good subject to talk about! I remember when the AMC tv commercials appeared in the 1980s touting AMC with their 88 shops and 3500 parking stalls 😳 !! Enjoyed this so much since first going to AMC in the late 1960s with our parents because before that time as Fort St Mall area was bustling with regular shoppers. Downtown Honolulu centering around the business district/Fort St Mall was THAT place to shop back then!

Oh wow, that's cool! I bet that was mind-blowing to hear back then. But when I think about it, 88 shops and 3500 parking stalls is STILL a lot! Sounds like you have some great memories. Sometimes, I wish I could have seen this place in the 80's. I bet it was totally different, still very big, though.

Another great vid 🤙 On our 2nd day of our holiday, we hit Ala Moana ! It was a MASSIVE 22,500 Step day 👣.. We were exhausted by the time we got back to our hotel with all our shopping ! 👕👡👜👗👟LOL.. In saying that , we had a complete game plan of what shops and eats to go to. We dissected every level as to not double back on our tracks. Well worth the research before stepping foot there ! P.S. I did buy shirts from , Reyn Spooner , Tommy Bahama, Tori Richards and Two Palms to stock up for our summer ☀️

Hey buddy! I'm still thinking about those snowball cookies you posted on IG! 😋 I gotta figure out how to get my hands on some! 22,500 steps?! Wow! But, I get it. It's very easy to do and I know you were exhausted! You did it the right way though, it's best to create a plan before you go because it's a lot. Okay...tell me...how do you like Tori Richards and Two Palms? I'm still on the fence.

this is awesome. I don't come to Ala Moana much because that's too much mall for me LOL. I hardly go to Pearlridge and I live near that mall. Love your video of the place tho Dwayne. Lots have changed since I last came to Ala Moana about 2 years ago. :)

Mahalo for watching, June! I totally understand because Ala Moana IS a lot of mall. I usually have a plan in place when I go. I LOVE Pearlridge! One of my favorite acai bowl places used to have a kiosk there (HI Craving). I was so sad they left, but I will have to catch them now in their mobile trucks. 2 years is a long time! I'm sure a lot has changed since you were last there. There are changes all the time it seems.

It's a great neighborhood...lots to see and do...and EAT! haha! Best of luck to you! I love the neighborhoods around the mall and super close to Waikiki and Kaka'ako.

My husband and I had our Anniversary dinner at Tanaka restaurant there! They sat us with a family celebrating a birthday. It wasn’t a romantic dinner, but definitely had a blast watching the chef cook in front of us and chatting with the group

@@dwaynearoundtown yea it was good mostly grilled-style food I don’t remember too much of what we ate but we did get full. I remember leaving a good review on yelp and they replied to it thanking us with a discount for next time

My brother and I went through the Ala Moana Mall on my recent trip to Hawaii. We ate at the food court. But, we purchased several of our souvenirs at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. I got one of those miniature surf boards and some small plaques to hang on the wall. I also got a couple small hula girls that shake around in the sunlight.

Sounds like it was a good time! And you hit some major places: Ala Moana & the Swap Meet. Doing all the right things! Those mini surfboards are really cool. Did you do it all in one day? If so, you got some good walking in!

We did do a lot of walking. About halfway through our vacation we came down with a cold and were s little under the weather. That was the only downside of our Hawaii vacation. We apparently kept our room a little too cold which caused it .

@@miketcb4815 Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope the cold didn't last too long and it was on the later part of your trip and not the beginning. It's really tempting to crank up the air conditioning because it does get really hot here. I've done that too! The sun really shines strong here.

Are you hiring at your concierge company😂 lol? I'm thinking about moving to Oahu my friend been there going on a year and she fell in love with it especially meeting a lot of new friends. I'm definitely looking for Resort , Government or YMCA jobs that include employee housing for newbie to the island.

I wish I was big enough to hire! That's very sweet of you to say. 🙏🏾My experience on Oahu has been much like your friend's as far as her falling in love with the island and meeting new people. You hear many people say, "the people in Hawaii are so nice," but...the people here truly are. The people are what makes Hawaii so special and so much more beautiful to me. And those industries (Hospitality & Gov't) are ones that are usually looking for new hires for sure!
