Imo triple trouble is the best of the bunch. It's a pleasant experience to this day and did a lot to stand out on its own

Honestly, 8-Bit Sonic 1 is my favorite. The difficulty curve is mostly pretty fair while stile posing a decent platforming challenge, Labyrinth zone is less of a pain in the butt than it's 16 bit counterpart and Bridge zone is a major bop.

Sonic Pocket Adventure is 16-Bit. If you thought it released on the GameGear, you’d be incorrect. It released on SNK’s NeoGeo Pocket Color, a 16-bit handheld system.

good video but the lack of that one game gear game you didnt mention where sonic travels really slow in an isometric playing field really brings it down

My favorite 8 bit game is Sonic Triple Trouble. Sure, the controls are a bit weird, BUT THE LEVEL DESIGN IS JUST GOOD! I finished the game multiple times with both Sonic and Tails and I don’t think I can get tired of it.
