After grade 4 it was fend for yourself at my house. If the little kids got all the good snacks you got a can of La Choy Chow Mein Noodles for a snack. That was only if you were 10 or older. I was the oldest. So to make snacks for us who were older got real inventive. Great show guys

We didn't really have a lot of traditional snack food growing up. Definitely not the individual packages. It was expensive. My after school snack was a thick slice of sharp cheddar cheese dipped in bullseye barbecue sauce. lol. We also had cereal and milk as snacks quite a bit. And toast with cinnamon sugar or butter and jam.

In my area here of Germany we say "You get some Kasalla soon!" if someone doesn't behave and you threaten consequences. Kasala used to be a company that made school furniture and children that got spanking at school ca. 60+ years ago had to bend over and saw the underside of the school desk with the label. Today it's just used jokingly, or even if you are upset you will not hit someone.
