What's the BEST course of action with the Nintendo Eshop closing?

I highly recommend everyone to mod their Wii, WiiU and 3DS XL systems. It’s easy and simple to do and that way you don’t have to waste your money and it’s all for free. The only thing you’ll have to spend money on is the memory cards. That way you will get all the games you desire and more.

There’s actually some interesting virtual console releases on the Wii U that are worth buying because they add something compared to buying the original game . Specifically Mario advance 4, wild world, shadow dragon and duck hunt and wild gunman. In the case of shadow dragon and wild world, both games have some online exclusive features which are no longer accessible on the physical carts. Thankfully these online features are retsored in the Wii U releases. In the case of wild gunman and duck hunt, they actually altered the game for wii mote support meaning it’ll probably be the one re release those games get as they’re hard to re release because of their use of the NES zapper. The most interesting of these is Mario advance 4 as the original release had 38 e reader levels, most of which I doubt anyone has played, especially because only 10 were released outside of Japan. What’s special about this re release is that all of the e reader levels come in the game right out of the gate. Edit: I forgot about the fact that drilldozer and all the SNES RPGs were brought to PAL regions for the first time and drilldozer’s release is a specifically made PAL release meaning it supports French and German Second edit: some Japanese exclusive games like kuru kuru kurruin are also accessible for the first time to American audiences

I think the Nintendo DS games on the Wii U Eshop need to be highlighted as DS games have proven to be harder to remake nowadays without two screens and a touchpad nowadays. Just look at remakes such as The World Ends With You on Switch and the Nonary Games collection.

Ive been looking into Wii U games to snag due to the announcement as of recently and have some written down , I just wanna say ur video so far has had the best format/execution showing what the game costs and why and even multiple on screen getting right to it. I feel there is a lack of an all in one video , showing what u need for a hard drive , cable , what games to look out for , linking ur switch account so funds that u might overload onto wii u store can be used on switch store so you dont lose it , possibility of duplicating a device as a backup in case of actual hardware failure, heck might as well throw in the accessories ( pro controller , bigger battery for gamepad ) . Ive yet to see an elaborate full thought process. Love the wii u , I bought it for me and my son a little before switch came out even after hearing from the gamestop employee that i may wanna just wait a month and I dont regret it one bit. it was inevitable but nintendo really needs to start with giving better alternatives to getting classic games/rare legacy titles that haven't had a physical release and they really need an equivalent to the virtual console as the nso just sucks(says something when the wii u has a way better eshop/especially internet compared to how very hit and miss the switch is.),it's eshop needs a revamp and there are 3ds games that do need a rerelease(along with consoles that need it's titles to be on switch like some of the gameboy advances games & the gamecube especially.) as while i don't support the actions can understand emulation as it is idiotically greedy and justifies people being frustrated at their slow actions with older games. my recommendations would be warioware/land 1-4,megaman,mario advance 1-4(especially 3's e-reader levels.:3),if you're able to get past region lock sonic advance 1-3,super mario 64 ds(should've been in 3d all stars.),pushmo,bomberman 64,superstar saga,golden sun,shantae(even if it's also on the switch with the other series games.) & the wii's titles(like mario's spinoff's,resident evil 4,metroid prime trilogy,galaxy 2and especially zack & wiki a really underrated capcom game that deserves praise.:3)

I got the Megaman X and X2 Legacy Collections for Switch and did the same for the Zero/ZX Legacy collection because it was cheaper than buying every game separately on the Eshop. I'll wait and hope that Capcom does the same thing for the megman rpgs.

I still remember 9 years ago when I bought Digitally at a discount for Fire Emblem Awakening, Blazing Sword, and Sacred Stones on my 3DS and Wii U respectfully, and Fire Emblem Awakening was my very first FE game that made me the FE fan I am today so to see the inevitable end of the e shop feels a bit sad (Also Revaluations Being completely unavailable for newcomers is sad as well because love it or hate it, a game being unavailable for anyone new means that they cannot experience it and Revaluations does have some unique Supports that the other routes don’t have) that said I should really buy the Awakening “Future Past” DLC soon because I have the DLC that matters for the other two 3DS titles. Lastly I 100% agree that the Switch really needs to add GameCube games soon (Seriously add Pokémon Colosseum and Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness or Remake them already Nintendo!)

Yes you can, it's something I didn't realize at first until I noticed that after adding funds to my Wii Account it did the same to my switch account, so when I add money to the switch account the WiiU/3ds had the same balance.

Depends honestly. Physical means you can play them on any system but digital is more secure plus these days Wii U and 3DS Eshop games are MUCH cheaper digitally.

I just want to step in and say that for American 3DS owners like me, Rhythm Heaven Megamix is HIGHLY recommended for an eShop purchase as its the only region that doesn’t have a physical version. You could wait on it if you’re fine with imports, but if you’d rather stay comfortable with local purchases, make sure THIS is on the list. Also when it comes to the DS Virtual Console games on Wii U, I’d say to be cautious with purchasing games like Super Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS or Metroid Prime Hunters if you’re able to take advantage of the multiplayer.

Yeah the multiplayer if the one thing that DS virtual console lacks, which is defo a big factor for Mario Kart and Hunters, but not so much 64 DS.

While I don't know if they are on there, for the Wii U virtual console consider Pokemon Colliseum and Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness. These are sort of the precursors to Legends Arceus in that they shook up the core pokemon formula while not straying far from it's roots. Also consider Yu-gi-oh The Falsebound kingdom. This is a very underrated RPG game that is a fun take on the Yugioh franchise

4:50 I kinda had an interest for Pandora's Tower after reading it off the E-shop. 11:11 Might still get Majora's Mask 64. Best Swimming controls ever that doesn't cost Magic to use. 11:33 Planning to get those as well despite the Remake coming out in April. 11:45 About $76 US if you get EVERY GAME...minus Battle Chip Challenge. But $50 if you get your favorite version for 3-6. I do remember reading an article back in May 2020 saying they were getting partners for Battle Network products. Maybe a collection for 2022-2023? I'm hoping for it 12:25 I still prefer GBA Superstar Saga over 3DS.

You can format an SD or micro SD card larger than 32 GB so that it works on a 3DS, that's how I got a 64 GB micro SD card on my New 2DS XL

I decided to get all the 3ds Fire Emblem games for old times sake. It's a shame that they are going to close the eShop on these legacy consoles. I'm hoping for Tellius to get remastered since they now cost an arm and a leg. Even the 3ds Fire Emblem games are going to cost as much as the Pokemon DS games since they are physically out of print. I also grabbed Shadow Dragon again since it's also going up in price. I'm thinking about getting New Mystery of the Emblem and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood as well. I mainly play with the PS Vita since I have quite the backlog at the moment. Its dual analog sticks and compact size have spoiled me. I may not replay the Fire Emblem games on the 3ds as much as I used to, but they are nostalgic for me. Unfortunately, this marks the end of the dedicated handheld era. Sony will likely follow suit and close the PS Vita and PS3 stores eventually.

Besides a few classics, my focus is to get all the Fire Emblem dlc on 3DS. I can not began to describe all the fun I had with those titles and few others on the 3DS, and being a PlayStation kid all my life made me question if I was turning in a Nintendo person. The Switch has yet to surpass it, but the fact that I love Nintendo Directs shows how far I've gone into this rabbit hole I never got close to as a kid, and it's all thanks to the 3DS!
