My first Christmas gaming gift was a total surprise. My Aunt had given me a large box of what appeared to a little kid to be a box of Frozen pizzas. I thought it was an interesting gift and I was only 7 years old at the time so I wasn't sure what to make of it so I was just going to just thank them and move on to the next present. It wasn't until my aunt told me to open the box and look inside that I was greeted with the shock of my young life. It was a Nintendo Gameboy Color and a copy of Pokemon Red! Thus began a life long love of video games and a Christmas I will never forget.

Cool man. Yeah I've played a lot of it. Put it down about a month ago on winter in my 3rd year but gonna pick it up again when the multiplayer and single player updates come out. I remember when my brothers and I would play track and field on the NES. You had to hit A,B,A,B,A,B as fast as you could to make your character run faster. We used a AA battery and just rub it over the A and B buttons as fast as we could to make and see who won and what times were. It was hilarious watching the characters run the track in like 3 seconds lol.

So happy to hear you all talking up DA:I! It's by far my favorite of the series and one of my favorite games of all time. I played it for over 200 hours, and I still feel like I could jump back in. The development team did an amazing job of creating a world to explore and live in. I even want to defend the shard collection! When you complete a set you're treated to these beautiful mosaics added to your castle that give a little more narrative background and depth. I also think it serves a purpose. It forces you to explore the remote corners of beautiful landscapes. There were only a few times that I would find one and NOT be happy with the vantage point I was given.

My first gaming gift was a NES when I was pretty young (5,6,7?) but I didn't get the NES. Instead Christmas morning me and my brother unwrapped a copy of Micro Machines (such a fun game) but nothing to play it on. Also, the game had a weird thing where you had to plug another cartridge into it to play. Spent the whole day in suspense about whether or not I would be playing it and turned out when I got to my grandparents later in the day that's when we got the NES. I think it was because my uncle brought it down from Exeter where they had a Toys'R'Us to Plymouth where we didn't and the other cartridge we got was Super Mario Bros 3, still my favourite game of all time.

Weird hate for Little Big Planet, but understandable. I loved GTA until San Andreas and I would never choose GTAIV over LBP. Actually, if there was a way to have Media Molecule to leave Sony and bring LBP to Nintendo, it would be a dream. I was so addicted to that game, and at first, I thought it was for kids, but after starting to play I was in love with the game. The style was so charming too. One Christmas I had the Following under the tree, and it was the best Christmas ever (read on to see the terrible conclusion): SNES Advantage Mario Paint Super Mario Kart TMNT 4: Turtles in Time SNES Game Genie Super Scope Illusion of Gaia. Then, about 9 months later, I decided the only way to be a bleeding edge gamer was to dive into the CD era...and I sold all of the above plus a dozen other games to Funcoland to get a Sega CD. 1989. I was 10. All I wanted was the new Sega Genesis. I drove my parents nuts about it. My parents were divorced, so my dad always brought his A game at Christmas. Guilt? Competition? Who gives a fuck! I always got cool stuff! Anyway, Christmas Eve, under the tree at Dad's house was a brand new launch Genesis with Altered Beast packed in. The next morning I got up to hook it up and my mom, not to be outdone, handed me three packages with Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi and Last Battle. I was the only kid on the block that had a Genesis for a long time. Tie: 2007. I had been out of gaming for a while. Went through college and focused on getting my career off the ground. I was in a good place so I got curious about the then current batch of systems. It was my first Christmas with my now wife. She surprised me with an XBox 360 and an extra controller so we could play together. Also a great Christmas. Now we have four PS4s and XBox Ones so we can play together with our daughters. Gaming has always been a cornerstone in my life.

I think it's okay for the guy to play as whatever race, character they want in the game. But In certain games it does change the way some people look and talk to you in game. Race & Class is a big thing in the Dragon Age universe, and playing as like an Elf, will have certain people look down on you and be outright mean to you. Even more so with Mages since a lot of people in the world don't trust them and see them as inherently evil. Dragon Age does real good commentary on race relations in their world by actually going just beyond skin color.
