Being from Chicago, I love the Chicago hotdog. Not only because it is delicious, but because of it's history. The Chicago hotdog was created during the Great Depression. It included ingredients that was cheap and filling. It was a affordable meal for a nickel at the time and an ample meal. The Chicago hotdog is also apart of our history 😊

I'm from Michigan, so I grew up on Coneys. If you ever come to Detroit, try Lafayette (Or American, or both) That would be an ultimate taste test as they are both next door to each other. I agree with the other comments, not a lot of coneys use cheese. It's chili, mustard and onions and the hot dogs here have a snap. Come to town and try it, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I lived in Chile for a few years where they eat a lot of hot dogs. The most popular/typical is called the Italian (looks like an Italian flag) it is a hot dog usually with a toasted bun, topped with diced tomatoes, a large helping of mashed avacado and a large stripe of mayonnaise. Loved the things, especially with mustard and hot sauce.

Actually the best Coneys don't use cheese sauce OR shredded cheddar. You gotta have that sliced deluxe american, brother. ESPECIALLY when you get chili cheese fries. But yeah, the Coney dog here got underplayed, if they had had a proper Coney Dog from some place like Family Treat or A&J's, or maybe even Top Dog, that dog woulda won hands down. I can't even finish this episode cause of the mistreatment of the coney dog. Bet you cash money they didn't use real coney chili either.
