Thanks for the kind words. Great to see your advice on using crafts in your games. Love the rock formations.

so all my wondering where you got such cool terrains is "I made them" well done.

Those cardboard rock formations are brilliant! In the country I live getting the foam everyone uses to make tiles and rocks doesn't exist and I've spent months trying to figure out how to make big cliffs and rock formations without wasting so much material, so seeing the way you make them here is absolutely perfect. Thanks for sharing!

Love your videos, this one included. I don't craft enough D&D terrain (I have started growing a collection of Warlock tiles that I honestly love). But these ideas are really rad, especially using the tea lights -- I never would have thought of that but it seems to easy to incorporate.

Most of this you can bust out over a weekend with a good supply of cardboard and hot glue. If you do up your crafting, make sure to share a pic!

These are all incredibly cool. I'm gonna suggest this too all of my DM friends. I especially like the torches. Such an easy, multi purpose craft. You can place them around a tavern, then suddenly take them all away when the Big bad saunters in too deliver a evil sounding monologue. The possibilities!

How did you create your fire and ice board? How do you track the movement and distance on it?

It's 1.5" insulation foam that I painted then drew a 3" grid on

I built a nice set of dungeon and cavern tiles with some nice accessories, like tables, piles of gold etc, but I have used them maybe once or twice because I realized my style as a DM isn't suited for tiles. Theater of the mind and grid are my jam
@ZipperonDisney3 жыл бұрын
Do you use props on the grid? like doors, monster minis or markers?
@FinlandjinM3 жыл бұрын
@@ZipperonDisney I craft paper minis out of my own drawings (the perfectionist in me likes the stylistic consistency :D). And of course I had to craft a shitload of different sized stands for my minis. I think props clutter our table and they fly everywhere from the slightest touch. I use whiteboard and markers as well when precision isn't needed. Whiteboard and labeled magnets are also a good way to keep track of the initiative.

Nice crafting! I know the vast majority of groups play "theatre of the mind" but personally I'd neverplay without terrain.

You think? I'd say most groups use minis. Sounds like a poll is needed!
