Your comment about being a parent warning other parent's earned my sub. Been in the hobby for a bit, but I have 7 kids and appreciate your take on this. We throw away ALOT of darts due to... well kids. So having this comparison and best value is excellent!

Oh, that’s kind of a bummer about ordering the darts. The green waffle head darts are the best ones I can get in my area. Yes you will lose some, but not many, and the price of them, it’s not a big deal. This is a great video! I love the fact that you said, One of the most enjoyable things about having a blaster, is hitting the target! No matter the age, everyone wants to hit the target!
@FamilyFoamsport3 жыл бұрын
When we first got started, we had some disruptors and a shockwave, and the kids got really discouraged trying to hit me from across the room, when the darts would just fly off. We actually picked up some x-shot darts first and the improvement was obvious.

Fantastic dart review. I got some of the Chili darts (by mistake) this week, and notice the heads are fractionally smaller than the width of the body, so they may perform slightly better in sealed breach blasters, but they're also 50% more expensive than the Adventure Force waffle heads (7.5 c each vs 5c each). I'd love to see a comparison of how these darts fire in various blasters - sealed breach magazine-fed, front-loading, flywheel etc. and if the fps makes any difference. I suspect at the 70-90 fps we usually fire these at there will be little difference, but it would be interesting to confirm. It's ironic that Nerf darts are the very worst of the off-the-shelf options. It again smacks of their "It's only kids, who cares?" attitude.

There's a few times where you might actually _want_ FVJ darts, but it's never for tagging other people, it's because the FWAP they make where hitting a target can be fun to hear. I wonder what ever happened to the older variants of full length darts like Koosh darts and whatnot.
@FamilyFoamsport3 жыл бұрын
Yeah there's so many crazy variations of the Elite dart, but I didn't want to go through them all in this video, I tried to focus on what's available on the shelf. I'm less concerned about hobbyists who might want FVJs for experimental reasons and more concerned with parents who order them because they just don't know better, resulting in welts on kids!
@flametitan1003 жыл бұрын
@@FamilyFoamsport Oh totally! Parents should definitely stay away from FVJs. Injured kids are not kids having fun.

Just stumbled upon this video after I was curious about all the darts since Coop did a video years ago. Very informative! And now we got more with Xshot and Buzz Bee changing their darts to be more in line with others and actually improving!

Yeah there’s definitely been a shift towards the “waffle” style dart - the dart market has gotten super complicated recently and this video is due for an update! I’ll have to do that this year.

Great video! My favs would have to be the X-shot Excel darts. Constructed so well. The foam is nice and firm. Works awesome when cut into half length too! perfect for my spamf. Peace from Perth Western Australia.

I'm actually surprised that in my recent nerf war the Adventure force Green darts are actually really easy to find in the grass. Maybe because the grass was dark, but the bright green wasn't too much of a problem to spot. Though the red darts were much easier to spot. The black foam darts are really hard to find, especially if their heads get torn off by high crush flywheels.

Very good comparison, but unfortunately only relevant if you live in the USA. Dartzone and Adventure Force do not appear to be sold outside of the USA, therefore they are hard to find and expensive. The new design of X-Shot darts are widely available, cheap, and they seem much, much better than Elite darts.

not sure if it's mentioned anywhere else but x-shot darts tend to not like sealed breeches and metal barrels. i like them for front loaders and not much else.

@@darkwhite1259But not all grass is the same shade of green, in fact it can often be brownish or quite redish too. As can bushes, soil and fallen leaves. And of course, on asphalt, concrete, gravel or sand, those same darts may show up very well. 😁
