Today we made and ate 15 of the simplest peanut butter sandwich recipes around to determine which ingredient pairs BEST with peanut butter and bread!

Q: How do you not gain weight?
A: Endurance sports (primarily running, cycling and some resistance training) and extreme discipline & sacrifice with our daily diets is how we manage not to gain weight. We eat mostly vegetables, fruits, some whole grains and low fat dairy on the days outside these videos. The calories consumed in a food challenge or mukbang are the only calories consumed that day and sometimes the day following as well seeing our appetites are typically shot from so much food and the thought of eating is very off-putting. Two days out we are back to large amounts of vegetables and increase to maintenance from there. We also often eat most of our days calories in a smaller eating window (we frequently bounce between intermittent fasting & OMAD diet as it just seems to work with our lifestyles and eating preferences). Anyone with a larger than normal stomach capacity like us, the drive to push through the discomfort of a challenge like this, and a basic understanding of energy balance (calories in vs calories out) can do it with enough disciple and intention (not that we recommend it).
Also worth mentioning is that we do not exercise to burn the calories consumed in a video but rather we are able to consume higher calorie diets due to our participation in endurance activities and said discipline with our daily diets.
Q: Can you make a “What I eat in a day” / fitness focused video?
A: While we’re sure that type of video will eventually make its way out there, this is not a health and fitness channel and we intend to primarily focus on indulgent food entertainment. We’re still in the very early stages of establishing ourselves within this genre and we’re constantly experimenting and trying to improve upon our style to make our channel a unique experience. Food is our passion while fitness is our discipline so, while we currently only have the availability to produce one quality piece of content a week, fun food-centered videos is where we’ll be focusing our attention (and trust us, it’s more fun for all of us this way). That’s not to say it will never happen, but it’s not a top priority for us.

As a massive peanut butter lover, I have to agree that Honey & peanutbutter is an amazing pairing😋 I also grew up with having strawberry jam and peanutbutter as my go to peanut butter and jam sandwiches, simply because we don't really have grape jelly(jam) here. Mized berries is also another great jam to pair with it!😄 I'm so surprised that peanut butter and banana wasn't that high up your list, it's soooo good and extremely comforting ☺ It would be really cool to see what combos you both would make if you could put more than one other ingredient because another one of my go to's was always a peanutbutter, strawberry jam and banana sandwich 👍 Looking forward to next Tuesdays upload !!!🥜

If you two ever decide to retry more peanut butter sandwich ideas, you have got to try PB and ganache! 😄 My grandma also swears by PB and raw onions, but I personally would go with caramelized onions instead (and maybe even grill the whole dang sandwich and add some cheese). Grilling any kind of PB sandwiches with butter like you would a grilled cheese really elevates the whole sandwich experience for me, personally. I used to make PB & banana sandwiches grilled with chocolate chips, so that the chocolate would melt into it and you get these little pockets of gooey chocolatiness, and those things were fricken superb! 😍 I also made and enjoyed many a grilled PB & nutella sandwich when I was younger, and guys, it is waaaay superior texturally and flavorwise to the plain old soft bread sandwich version. Even just toasting your bread and having a PB & J or PB & honey on toasted bread can be oddly satisfying, and keep your sandwiches from getting too soggy if you don't eat them right away. Anyway, loved the vid and hope you try out some more fun sandwich ideas! :) If you only tried one, grilled PB & banana with chocolate chips is an easy comfort food masterpiece that I highly recommend! Everyone I ever made them for loved them and raved about how good they were.

Awww man PB and Honey! My mom packed a PB&H sammich in my school lunch at least once a week when I was a kid. On those days the copious amount of honey soaked through the bread, but I didn't care; I loved it like that! Lunch always had a bag of chips or chex mix, and dessert was usually a Little Debbie oatmeal creme pie or zebra cake, or sometimes fig newtons (which I loved and still love... don't judge me)

I had very little grape PB and J sandwiches as a kid. My dad always stocked preserves too so strawberry and raspberry (raspberry was sometimes homemade). But Honey and PB is such a great combo. I think when you add honey to the banana PB sandwich it heightens it and takes it to another level. I still find just banana and PB drying together, just one big upper roof clump.

I don't know if you have spread butter on your sandwich? In Sweden it is a must when doing a simple nutella sandwich or peanut butter sandwich, those two spreads are so "dry" the butter makes the best "break". Ok, when you are ready for more combos: pb banana and honey. Pb banana honey and bacon. Chocolate pb cherry jam and some shredded coconut. When I worked in a cafe years ago we had a pb, banana, honey and a sprinkle of granola sandwich and it was delicious. I’m surprised you didn’t try the pb and pickle sandwich or pb with potato chips crushed up inside. There is a restaurant near me that makes a deep fried pbj sandwich.

Strangely as a Brit I really enjoy peanut butter with grape 🍇 jelly. It costs a fortune to get the good proper American Peanut Butter and Welch’s Grape Jelly here though - but totally worth it. Appreciate it! Unfortunately challenges will be few and far between nowadays. We don’t have the kind of time or energy to commit to how demanding those are on the mind and body now that our lives/schedules are back to normal post-pandemic. The extreme dieting and over exercising to mitigate health complications became miserable even without having to fit it all in the busy schedules too. Peanut butter and honey is my go to and I usually add a ripe banana to it if I have one lying around. Gotta be on soft fresh white bread. Yum … Agree with Nate on peanut butter on its own. It’s like listening to the drums. Not that great on its own but pairs so well with other. 😉

Nice spin on the classics PB&J. I would be interested to see you try different PB brands sometime. I noticed you are Skippy guys, I grew up only eating JIF and I know there are others that people are loyal to but is there a difference?
