I wish the pistols all had just a bit better core TTK, base range, and better fast mags stats. Feels like there’s basically no good reason to not use Long Barrel + Extended Mags just to make them feel more useable. I also wish the Grekhova had slightly faster base handling stats. It doesn’t feel strong enough to really warrant being noticeably slower handling.

I have to say, I miss the pistols from BO2(or older cods.) If you were good enough, you could use them as primaries. Ever since that glitch with the 1st semi auto handgun in BO3 where you could shoot the entire mag in like a second, they've been hard capped and even with a good trigger finger, the fire rate isn't that impressive. For my preferred pistol in Bo6 though, the Makarov or the HK45.

I think another thing to note here regarding pistol handling is the combination of Fast Mags II and Commando Grip on 3 of the 4 pistols available. Both attachments reduce ADS time and Sprint-to-Fire time, at the cost of reducing capacity in the case of FMII. The two best options I think are the GS45 and the Striker .22, since the former is capable of a 2-hit kill, and the latter still has 20 rounds on tap. And the following is more relevant to Hardcore than anything, but you can run both the Gain Twist barrel and Overpressure rounds to substantially increase the hitscan range of your pistol, with the GS45 for example jumping up to 607.5 m/s from 375 m/s (thus an increase to hitscan range up to 30.375 meters from 18.75 meters), providing extra consistency in situations that demand it.

I've played with all the pistols heavily in core, trying to use them as main weapons instead of secondary weapons, mostly in face off. The only one that really holds its own trying to do this is the grekhova. I was winning 1v1 fights a lot more than I expected, mostly I think due to its mobility combined with its high fire rate. Now it's kind of just a budget Saug, but it really does well all the things that gun does well.

The Makarov Pm 9mm pistol is my go-to pistol in this game, the USP (GS45) is a close second. The PM has a decent tap-fire rate, decent damage (which is a trend for pistols in Treyarch games), a fast reload and clear iron sights. It has everything i desire for a firearm: -Quick swap -Good balance of range, fire rate and damage -Fast reload

This seems like an odd choice, but I really want to see the deep breakdown of the, Goblin MK2 my most particular interest, is running it with the Combination of the CHF Barrel and Rapid Fire, which I wouldn't suggest for most guns because of the Recoil Penalty, but I feel isn't as significant because the Goblin is semi Auto, but I've been using it and honestly it's kinda fun, I didn't like the gun at first but using that combo if you're an Accurate player really puts it I would say as one of the Better ARs. But I do wanna see what your thoughts are at some point when you take a look at it for a gun guide. I think it works really well and I have had a tonne of fun especially when you can delete people with headshots so well with it.

What would have been great is if we saw the return of Secondary Gunfighter and a BO2 style create a class where you can outright remove your primary weapon. Don't want the pick 10 system back, but just being able to opt out of bringing a primary weapon instead of wasting a wildcard on Overkill (so you can have your pistol ready immediately upon spawning/respawning instead of having to waste time switching weapons) would be great. I think the Stryder is balanced because I mean cmon dude it's chambered in .22 you aren't going to get much firepower out of that, and that means the Tanto needs it's damage per shot nerfed and its firerate increased.

I always run grekhova with sniper set up ,extended mag,suppressor and the longest range barrel ( can't remember it's name ) and honestly up close it absolutely melts, the range is close to medium only but love it ! Peaker's advantage. Blame the constant onslaught of Packet Burst and horrible netcode. In case you didn't know, when someone dies the whole match is resynced between servers and clients, causing massive spikes in ping and artificially smoothed out jitters. Compounding that with the poorly implemented 60Hz servers, and ping being a lower priority in matchmaking than player skill thanks to SBMM/EOMM, it's ridiculously easy for super fast handling weapons like pistols to get outclassed by super slow and heavy weapons like LMG's and snipers.

I like the PM a lot, but the small magazine is very challenging for primary play, the reliance on scavenger means that I can't play with the Recon specialization most of the time.

Thought the idea of pistols were, you run out of ammo and switching to your pistol is faster than reloading. Spamming the lowest recoil gun to be on target and those last shots to win.

The grind is going to work on hc face off for pistols especially when its on hardcore modes

I play core, use two pistols, the Stryder is my main. For me Its the best pistol at range. The accuracy is just great with 30 round default mag. The 9mm is great but you will run out of ammo quick. Im sad we dont have a high calibur pistol. Even more upsetting is they made the Deagle a scorestreak so we probably wont see it as a sidearm.
