100% agree. Yer not going to be shooting at more than bad breath range 90% or more of the time and having a longer barrel does not automatically make you a better shot.

I agree 100%, the stainless steel j-frame over the aluminum models for a beginner. Less recoil, simple and reliable!!! That 640 S&W snubbie is on my wish list!!!

Just got my wife a Ruger LCR .22LR. I got her a pink Glock 19 three years ago. It hardly got carried because it took too much room in her purse (on an empty chamber). She trains once or twice a year and doesn’t know how to clear malfunctions. She can easily carry the LCR in her pocket, and .22LR doesn’t recoil much. And the manual of arms is intuitive.

Really good video, Gents. Very much enjoyed the Macho Man intro - even if it drifted into a little Hogan at the end ....😂😂😂. The issue w/ semi autos and contact shooting can never be mentioned too often imo. Great demonstration. Had my wife watch a bit, and her first question was "does the 686 come in a gold finish?" ... 😂😂😂 Hope the hand heals up quick, Muttonchop. Btw, I emailed Charter last night with a Mag Pug question (name dropped you guys), and they wrote me back first thing this morning. I'm getting really tempted.

@@revolverroundup My question included links to your video and the mount, was asking if they thought the sw micro for rmr mount from allchinguns might fit the Charter Mag Pug. The response was: "If the revolver already has rear adjustable sights, the rail mount will work with it. Thanks". The reply was from Eric, and I could see he was responding to my email being forwarded to him from Nick Ecker. My interpretation of the reply was that if the Charter has an adjustable rear sight, the rail is your only option, and digging around on the internet quite a bit yesterday, I really haven't found any other possibilities...

Bought my daughter a Taurus 85 when she got married...she is one of those that see the range once, maybe twice a year, and calls it good enough...she will never practice enough, so the revolver is perfect for her (we sit after range visits, I watch her clean her gun)...her hubby has some kind of Ruger 9mm, so they aren't totally defenseless...she'll never forget how to operate that revolver, and if need be it can sit in a drawer for 10 years, loaded and ready to go...she has hinted at concealed carry, but I can't twist her arm...in that situation we'd first see what out here at that time, she is tiny so a tiny firearm would seem the ticket...

@@revolverroundup Her birthday is next week, so we went to Lahaska to buy her a new pocket book this past weekend. It wasn’t busy, so the sales girl was amused as we tried the pistol in different bags. She keeps it in a cheap soft IWB holster, so people only saw the grip frame. 😁

My wife decided (I didn't make that decision) to get that horrible S&W Bodyguard for her carry piece. That is the absolute worst piece of garbage not only we ever had, but that anyone who's ever owned a gun has had it! Her current gun, like mine, is a Charter Arms Undercover!

@revolverroundup If I didn't like your videos, I wouldn't be subscribed! If I wanted to be somewhat nitpicky, I say that information is usually targeted towards a given audience, either beginner, intermediate, or expert. Your videos, by and large, are targeted towards experts: people who already know revolvers, who like revolvers, seek out details about revolvers, and get the somewhat esoteric humor at the beginning. Think comparisons of barrel lengths, bullet performance, one brand to another, specific techniques, et cetera. However, because this is information by experts towards a generally expert audience, a video like this that is more intended for beginners has the wrong kind of tone. The information in it is correct, but it feels like there are a lot of assumptions being made that an expert would assume that a beginner would not. Rather than talking to the audience at a broad level, it would be far better to include this beginner and see what questions they have, where they get hung up, what resonates with them and what doesn't, etc. From an expert point of view, a lot of these questions seem silly or are things that you haven't even thought about in a decade, but that is exactly what separates an expert from a beginner. AmmoMart just did a video series called "From Mom to Armed Mom". kzbin.info/aero/PLA4dmUvrp0Nhwn5ZqAhEAG_vMH-sTJkLZ&si=QcmTtj7naAOqDvRQ This was a fantastic example of what I mean. Granted, this was with a professional instructor and no one expects you to have the same level of quality (and involved autos over wheelguns), but it does a good job of actually speaking to a beginner and working with them. I don't think you have to go into that level of depth and make a seven part series, but having someone like your wife talk about her journey with revolvers (assuming she is willing to go on camera... not everyone is), or if you have worked with a new person in the past and have them talk about why they, as a beginner, chose a revolver over a semi beyond just its simplicity (my son, for example, will only shoot revolvers because he doesn't like the slide reciprocating towards his face in the firing sequence and likes being able to choose DA or SA for each shot).
