Hello ReefMan! Just wanted to reach out and thankyou for all of your high quality content. I just started a nano reef tank with a 13 gal. Fluval and have found all of your videos and advice very useful. It's currently home to a tail spot blenny I've named Benny, a fireshrimp which is thus far un-named, a Darwin Misbar Clownifish namea d Darwin (not very creative I know however, it seems to fit him quite well and a few baby lps corals. Following your advice I've had great success with this set-up and I value the knowledge you have shared tremendously. Thankyou!!!

Adding my .02. For the Al Gore. I think a 90 cube would be a good reef tank compromise. You could run One light and not to much $$$ for the water and salt for water changes. You still get the stability of a large tank but can get away with running smaller/less expensive equipment. If you know what I mean. Plus I don’t think the tang police would get ya if you were to drop one or two smaller ones in it. 😉

I really like cube tanks!! I’ve wanted to try a planted cube tank with seahorses for a while.
@seancolinclark2 жыл бұрын
True, but those tang police are everywhere and all knowing... just ask them. 🚔
@ReefMan2 жыл бұрын
In general I think tangs do like larger tanks, but I’d be ok with something like a kole tang in a 90 cube.

Tanks starting to look good again. When do you think you'll start with coral again?
@ReefMan2 жыл бұрын
I have some coral from battle corals arriving today in fact 🥳

I noticed that prices of tanks goes up exponentially with size. I wonder if the price of setting up two 120 tanks is cheaper than single 240 tank.
@ReefMan2 жыл бұрын
That would be an interesting thing to price out. I bet one tank would be cheaper, I think the incremental price on pumps for a larger tank wouldn’t be as much as buying two smaller ones. Of course, you’re supposed to have extra backup pumps for critical things like return pumps but I’m not sure how many of us do that.

do you think even smaller tanks need a protein skimmer (
@ReefMan2 жыл бұрын
No, I don’t think so. You could get a surface skimmer though and it’ll help to remove the proteins and such that collect on the surface of the water. There are also some nice small skimmers these days too if you do want one.

Hey there! What are the dimensions of your tank?
@ReefMan2 жыл бұрын
72” wide, 36” front to back, and 24” tall.
@dhanking582 жыл бұрын
Gallons?
@ReefMan2 жыл бұрын
I think it works out to around 280ish with the sump
@AbsoluteZero67142 жыл бұрын
@@ReefMan Not bad. I like the 36” width but I’m personally a bit worried that it’s hard to clean. However it makes for lots of good aquascaping opportunities.
@AbsoluteZero67142 жыл бұрын
@@ReefMan I did the math and the display alone rounds out to about 270 gallons: 72 x 36 x 24 divided by 231.
