School I worked at. Kid was gutted like a fish with a hook knife at graduation. Boom, No more graduations at the high school football stadiums, but rather an off-site secure convention center. All teachers who were too black, Filipino, white, or Hispanic were targeted and harassed to quit their jobs. A big class-action lawsuit followed and cost the district millions. School district managed to keep it quiet because it was guilty of systemic racism and couldn't afford paying off dozens of teachers.

When I started high school, we had the head principal and three assistant principals. The head principal, who had been at the school for four years prior to my going there, and two of the assistants were men and one was a woman. During my junior year, a third male assistant principal joined the staff. Rumor has it that during my junior year the head principal and the female assistant had an affair. There was talk that they had had sex on his desk and possibly charged a hotel room to school’s credit card. What I know for certain was that all of the principals were removed, and during my senior year the school had a totally different set of administrators, all of whom I believe were new to the school.

A letter was sent to everyone at our school because there was an std breakout and about 10 of our classmates had it. They were letting the parents know and they were educating us in health class to not have sex at all and if we did, to wear a condom. It was awkward and it’s the reason I never dated anyone in high school haha 😂

My school district violated multiple safety regulations and tried to cover it up. People have been moving into my area for a while, and there were so many students they had to build a new high school. It got super delayed because of covid, so they had to rush and try to finish it on time. In the end, they opened the school to students WHILE THERE WAS STILL CONSTRUCTION. Entire sections had no AC, there were live wires hanging from the ceiling, and some windows were empty. To cover it up, my middle school didn’t let us talk about the high school at all after hearing that students with older siblings in the high school were telling people what was going on.

The biggest scandal i remember was when a certain group of kids who liked a rap group who wore clown paint got listed as a "dangerous gang" bc one of the dumber ones got into it with the Star quarterback and got his ass kicked, and the school banned all paraphernalia pertaining to that rap group and had the clique of kids separated like prisoners afterwords even though they just played hackey sack during lunch in one remote corner of the commons before all this happened.

The class above mine kept winning the contest for how much money we could raise for our school (we went to a private school). The prize was a big stuffed animal of the mascot. Well, one of our student council members junior year stole the stuffed animal from the seniors. Then she kept showing it off to any junior she met. This was before social media. She was eventually caught, but she agreed to give the stuffed animal to the seniors in order to keep her student council post. To her credit, she did just that!

I remember I was in the nurses office after taking a speed ball to the crotch in middle school gym when all of a sudden the schools alarms rang out. From what I can gather one student snuck a knife into school and said that they were going to kill everyone in the school. Luckily no one was hurt, but I never saw the student again after that so I can only assume they were expelled.

Just this year our librarian died of cancer. We had a moment of silence for her the morning after, and one of the councilors came into the room to announce the news. The chemistry teacher allowed us to write notes for her amd put them in the library, and so did the homeroom teachers. Her funeral was a few days ago. I wasn't particularly close with her (I hardly go to the library anyway bc I have no time in between class) but even I was upset. It was a pretty melancholy day when it was announced.

That almost reminds me of a friend from college who was involved in library work at a elementary school. She took her own life last month. She was 28 (would've turned 29 at the end of December) and her 10 yr HS reunion was held less than a month after she killed herself. She was big on suicide prevention and lost her sister to suicide in 2014. Idk what her school did, if anything. There was no mention of her on the school's FB page. Then again, they probably didn't want to mention suicide to little kids.

Those things make me remember how funny and ignorant high school was. And all those things could have happened and nobody here would have even noticed. High school was fun I thought. At least it was in the 90's. I think high school now would probably be the worst think, even worse that prison. My city got a new high school my junior year and that shit is no fun at all. When I got in school, I was locked in there. There was surveillance enough to compare it to prison.

I know I posted here already, but I have one more list of incidents to post that are more serious than even all the principals in the school getting replaced at once. I will let you all be the judge on which is the most serious. I had classes with two boys who went on to murder people, one while he was in school and the other just after he graduated, and with another guy who took part in a robbery during my junior year. During my freshman year, I was in a geography class for a few days, before my schedule was changed, with a boy a year older than me, who I also had attended Karate classes with years earlier and who had stayed the night at my house on a few occasions. Before the year ended, he strangled his mother to death with her pajamas and dumped her body in a ditch. He later confessed to killing her and only got ten years for it as I recall, and has never given a reason for what he did. The next year I was in a home ec class with a guy, a senior at the time, who I will call Derrick. Derrick wasn’t particularly nice to me. I never would have imagined what he would go on to do the following year, though. During my junior year, Derrick, who had just graduated at the conclusion of my sophomore year, and six other teens, one of whom was also in a social studies class with me at the time, robbed the house of a man who was away. The house owner’s neighbor confronted them, and Derrick shot the neighbor with a shotgun and killed him. Derrick got 12 years for the murder, and I’m not sure how long the other guy in my social studies class got for his part in the robbery. A few years after getting out of prison, Derrick killed again. This time he robbed a house whose owner was not home, but a woman was there house sitting. Derrick smothered her to death with a pillow, and the main reason he was caught was because the woman’s mother went to the house to check on her, and she got there in time to see Derrick leaving in his vehicle. Derrick it still in prison today, and unless he makes parole in 11 years, he will be in prison until he is roughly 75 years old. The year after I graduated, two guys who were a year behind me in school, who had just graduated probably less than a month before, were part of a drug deal gone bad. One of my good friends, who is paraplegic, who I will call Bruce, was shot in the eye, while the other guy at my school, who I will call Ray, was killed along with another local guy who had also graduated just months before. I later learned that the dealer had intended to kill Bruce, and that Ray, who had played football while in school, had jumped in front of the gun and saved Bruce’s life at the cost of his own. As far as I know, Bruce is still alive today and when this life is over, I hope I get to see Ray so I can thank him from saving Bruce.

Our Junior high and high school were two separate buildings across town turns out I didn't find out till years later the only reason I passed 9th grade was because all the teachers got together and had a meeting none of them wanted me back again so they all gave me passing grade so I can move over to the high school so if you cause enough problems you'll pass you don't need to be good at Athletics

There were 3 while I was in high school. Right after Obama got elected my junior year, there was a rumor about a school shooting to take place at my high school. On the day of the rumored shooting, quite a few cops were on campus throughout the day and parents pulled out a lot of their kids throughout the day. There was a line of parents at the main office during lunch. A few weeks after Junior Year ended, the girls basketball coach resigned after it was revealed he had a hidden video camera in his private bathroom. Had it in there to record girls changing clothes. He was charged with video voyeurism. Two months before my senior year ended, one of the senior English teachers resigned. I found out in 2019 that the reason she resigned was because she didn't want the school administrators to investigate her. Some of her students made false accusations against her and she supposedly shoved one student out of her classroom. Her students compared her class to a concentration camp. Students and teachers were interviewed by administrators and numerous investigations were launched against her. She quit in order to avoid the final results.

Not really a scandal but a ex classmate of mine got in a big argument with the school ( I can’t remember what it was about) And her dad threatened to come to school and shoot everyone. For contrast school shootings are extremely rear in my country. But my school is not the best so instead of letting everyone go home for the day, for some dumb reason they called the cops and let us have lunch in the cafeteria. In the end nothing happened and I think he was arrested but I’m not sure if he faced any legal punishment.
