Taiki didn’t go to watch Chi‘s game because the basketball nationals are held in a totally different prefecture. Haryu mentioned it in one of the last episodes that he finds it strange that everyone gets to travel, yet the badminton nationals are practically played on home turf.

I really respect Hina apparently leveling up while she was at the Inter-High, she came back with her game face on. You can tell by her attitude when she walked into the gym that she’d already decided on confessing, and not even Taiki being distracted by Chinatsu’s game going on could stop her, she just used it to her advantage to set up their “competition.” And then when he’s understandably awkward the next day, she doesn’t avoid the topic but instead doubles down. I know this kind of behavior is just red flag central in romance anime because apparently being straightforward and honest about your feelings is a death sentence, but I still love how Hina’s character has progressed.

Meet Best Girl Hina: no misunderstandings, no hesitation, no fear. As soon as she told Taiki to go first I knew she was gonna pull a squid game and let the proverbial marble (in this case shoe) drop. The direction of the entire scene was incredible! This type of straightforward confession catapulted Nino into best girl status for me in QQ.

I’ve been waiting 😭. U know the sad part is? Its that the chances of hina winning are so slim (i don’t read the manga so if ur replying pls don’t spoil) Why chinatsu will win from story standpoint 1) she has the most screentime. Like in the op, on the poster, throughout the story etc 2) the name of the first fking episode was chinatsu 😭 3) chinatsu is in the special situation with the mc (u know the forced marriage, the sudden moving in, the neighbour, the same appartment complex, the same secret club etc etc) 4) hina confessed first so we all know how that ends And hina has like 1) she looks like the “heroine” if u get what i mean. 2) taiki liked senpai in ep 1 (this is also a “common” troop where a girl helps the mc get together with a certain girl but they end up getting together) I’m honestly looking forwards to what will happen but in regards to who will “win” i believe its like a 75/25 for chinatsu 😭

People all over the internet talking about this is a love trinagle. I think its not a love triangle. I am not being rude or against Hina or anything but its Hina's fault. Hina knew from episode 1 that Taiki liked Chinatsu. And as a close friend she should've supported Taiki. But she didn’t. It is sadly completely one sided and Taiki didnt have any love interest towards Hina. Its Hina's fault totally. That's why i think its not a love triangle and also chinatsu backed away seeing Hina and Taiki together. She didn’t even talk about with people(after seeing Hina and taiki) about her love interest for Taiki although she kinda like Taiki.

@TheVenom-y6m You are correct! A love triangle normally means two people having a crush on a third person and third person struggling to decide which love interest to choose. In Blue Box‘ case both Chinatsu and Hina like Taiki. But Taiki only loves Chinatsu. He’s not even remotely interested in Hina in any romantic way whatsoever. That’s not a triangle but a straight line between two dots. With a third single dot placed besides the line not being part of any geometric shape at all.

@Mozartkugel yeah, i think you get it what i was trying to say. I dont hate Hina or anything but at the end of the day Its Hina's fault. People should try to use their brain cells in this regard. I see people crying all over the internet(also in this video's comment section) that Hina isnt Over thinking like Chinatsu. Bro... What???? Hina isnt living with Taiki that's why she doesn’t have to worry about the circumstances. Taiki's parents are letting Chinatsu to stay with them to achieve her dream. And Chinatsu is really greatful for it and thats why she doesn’t want to take this opportunity to confess to Taiki.

I like Hina, but riding with Chinatsu senpai. Hina getting her time now doesn’t bode well for the future in the long run. Hina is the appetizer. Very delicious, but will the flavor sustain in the end for Taiki past that? Chinatsu senpai is slow cooking meal. Taking more time than a normal meal, but has the chance to be great for it in the end.

Hina is the best one. But man I hate this show Blue Box gives Hina basically a whole opening to herself. They give her the best moments. She has the best chemistry with taiki. All for them to make her lose(I’m assuming). The pink hair side character curse IS REAL!!! I am gonna be so heated if they don’t give her character a solid love interest by the end of the series.

I don‘t get what all people see in Hina. 😂 She may be a nice girl but she‘s also loud, she’s too extroverted, she forces the spotlight on herself everytime other characters wanna have time for themselves, she’s a natural talent in sports and doesn’t know losing, yet she’s a subpar and lazy when it comes to studying. These may all be character traits that make her relatable, but for me as a regular guy who’s not a total extrovert, I‘d scratch her off the list of girlfriend material immediately. Too exhausting. Chinatsu on the other hand is considerate and polite. Hard working and determined with clear goals and a strong will. She has to fight for every success she gets. She may count as a prodigy in her sport, yet has to face and overcome setbacks multiple times in order to grow from it. Still, she‘s friendly to everyone and lets people finish their sentences without interruption. I may miss something here, but the facts speak for themselves. There’s only one person here who I would spend more time with than an occasional afternoon. 😅 By the way: Your conclusions about Chinatsu are a bit unjustified. Not once did she reject Taiki, she apologized for having been too close to him physically as a guest in their household. She draws a line and promises to make sure that something similar won’t happen again. She’s still 16 and living with strangers. Hina would loudly force herself on everybody yet Chi‘s thoughtful and considerate and thankful to get the opportunity to stay in Japan for basketball. It’s only logical morally to concentrate on that first before thinking about hitting on her housemate, at least not before she’s sure he likes her back. And yes - we had multiple situations now in these 14 episodes where it got clear as day that she loves the guy! No need for „realization“. Look closer, guys!! 😂

Chinatsu is great, don't get me wrong...but Hina is more appealing to me as a character. I don't see anything Chinatsu has that she doesn't, except Taiki's love and obviously basket LOL She's nice, she's funny, she's talented, she's a good friend, she's empathetic...everything to make a rival likeable LOL PS: i'm seeing so much Hina hate now, and idk if it's bc last month some Hina fans were badmouthing Chinatsu, but i gotta say - two wrongs don't make it right. Same way Chinatsu didn't give any reason to hate on her, Hina is the same. Both have a lot of qualities. For me it's again the brainless thought process of "every rival in romance gets in the way, so they deserve to lose and suffer". In a lot of romance, the rival character is more developed and likeable than the MCs themselves.

@@leapark4281 well, depend on which show are we talking about here. Shows like Oregairu, Oshi no Ko, Shikimori, Love Hina, Alya, Bunny Girl Senpai, Toradora, Nisekoi, Skip and Loafer, Komi-san, Hokkaido Gals, Masamune-kun Revenge, Couple of Cuckoos, and others, the rival characters are, imo, better developed bc we get more insight on them and we can actually see ourselves (at least me) sympathizing with them, and we also can see them getting character development. Not that the main characters don't get development, that's not what i mean, what i mean is: if the MC start at "Point A" and they finish the story at "Point A+", a lot of rivals start at "Point C" and finish at "Point A/A+". What i mean is that we can ACTUALLY SEE the rivals changing and/or getting better, while sometimes the MCs look....almost the same through the course of the story. And even when the stories don't have a "rival" per say, the side couples are, for me, more interesting than the MC couple, like Kaguya-sama and Horimiya for example.
