I've only ever used them on dirt jumpers with gyros

Interesting idea. The only couple of issues I can see are the oil will get hotter faster causing brake fade and the fluid will have to be changed sooner.

I have the 4 piston version of these brakes on my Salsa Vaya (drop bar) which replaced TRP cable actuated brakes which already had low compression housing. Fully hydraulic brakes would require a new drive train as I have a 10 speed system with triple chain rings. These brakes are more powerful than the TRP cable brakes.

Is this the Juin Tech F1 Hydraulic-Mechanical Disc Break model? And besides upgrading to compression-less housing; are better Hydraulic-Mechanical Disc Break models available that can be upgraded to before going to full hydraulic?

im using a road bike with gravel tires with normal disc brakes and felt almost no breaks on both sides, i plan on buying a gravel bike but gravel bike with hydraulic are too expensive for a 16 year old. the best bike i can get with hydraulic is the pinewood katana pro (38k pesos) and the sunpeed charon/pinewood katana gr are about 31k pesos with the actuated. I got into this video and tried searching a break test comparison between the mechanical, actuated and hydraulic but havent found any. the bikes with actuated brakes are also way out of my budget and their price diff to mechanical disc bikes are around 8-10k, any advice?

Maybe it's time for manufacturers to just reissue rim brakes with improvements so they work better when it's wet. Keep It Simple. (KIS)

Most low-mid range road bikes I have seen on the market still have rim brakes. The problem is rim brakes are inherently less consistent and powerful, while wearing faster than disc brakes. And when the braking surface on the rim wears out, you have to replace the entire rim. KISS means do not make thinks more complicated than they need to be, but sometimes overly simple is less effective.

@@stevenpowell1991 A lot of us don't need all that much power. I don't know about carbon wheels. I don't have them. Aluminum rims last a log time with rim brakes. Rubber brake pads wear faster than metal. Glad to hear they keep selling bikes with rim brakes. Good response.

If the system has no liquid in it, it cannot be hydraulic. It looks to me a regular cable-actuated mechanical disk brake.
