Haha! A lot of Eric and Yuka in front of the camera this week. Nice change of pace! I still watch despite lack of POV, Eric, so don't rush your healing process just to try and get video content. I'm healing from a clavicle break myself, so let's take the time to heal right. BTW, I noticed last time you seemed a little frustrated about the pace of healing. What is your age and do you think that is a factor in healing time? I am 54 and definitely healing more slowly than I used to.

@ΣΤΑΥΡΟΣΓΚΕΡΛΕΣ3 жыл бұрын
not exactly. You see this suspension is an equivalent that in automotive industry is called trailing arm. A trailing arm doesn't care of up and forward or up and backwards in terms of suspension plushness and comfort. The only thing that matters, is where the main pivot is. If it is in the front of the wheel axle, then it absolutely does not make any difference if the wheel extends to the back or compresses to the front. Absolutely no difference in plushness what so ever. I see a mistake in the answers above. If the wheel travels up and backwards , the wheel is extending, there for pedal kickback is much more than it is with moving up and forward. This is because when the wheel extends, it pulls the chain with it, so pedal kickback happens. If it moves forward, closer to the chainring, it doesn't pull the chain with it, thus resulting in no pedal kickback. This old basic single pivot design bike we see in this video, is the proof of that. It needs an extra pulley to prevent pedal kickback because it is extending the wheel (up and backwards). And another thing. Pedal kickback only occurs to a stationary bike , so...only for expedition purposes as you realise, a moving bike doesn't suffer from this imaginery problem that marketing is trying to put down our throats by force.
@aromaj83 жыл бұрын
@@ΣΤΑΥΡΟΣΓΚΕΡΛΕΣ I would argue that pedal kickback isnt so much a thing as limiting the suspension action when you're standing on the pedals keeping them level.

Lol same on my new bike I can climb with the shock in descend mode. Well there's only pedal bob when I'm in a low gear , I think that's just because I'm bouncing around when my cadence is too high. Suspension geometry is really important. Both Polygon, 1 pedal bobs so much I lock it out on flat ground sometimes , I have to climb in 1st to 3rd gear. The other I can leave in descend mode and climb in 8th to 11th. Pedal bob is probably the biggest issue for me actually, because I use my bike for transportation as well.
