As iron giant you either get your big hitbox stuck in a infinite combo or you put the enemy into a infinite combo. There is no middle ground (unless the enemy is a zoner at that or even worse wonder women then you are just screwed)

To be fair, there WAS a period of time in the beta he was very strong (release -august 2022), but the characters was nerfed significantly in later patches and in the last betas he was considered quite weak. not unplayable, but certainly on the weaker end.

Tatsunoko vs capcom is such a dang good game. If they remastered that and released it with roll back net play, that would be amazing. The combat was so much fun. Alotta cool male characters that look sick that don't like doofy modern male characters (like sf6,literally half the roster I don't even like/find interesting) Definitely one of the most underrated fighting games of all time.

Damn I wish I got to play him like this. I don’t own him anyway though. Idk man they did change some of the combat like dodge cancelling into stuff. Idk if it’s better overall. The rifts are a joke. No one wants to grind THAT much itll take about 15 hours to get 30 rifts. They could Atleast make everyone free in that mode would be a good way to test people outside of training and make every objective possible some are not because u don’t own them. Still a pay to play piece of crap. Online is just laggy. The game now also looks less fluid than it did before that I remember anyway.

Iron giant was my favorite character to play as, but for his flaws, i do hope and wish that they don't nerf this giant because then it would be a whole ridley situation again from Smash. And dude literally needs to stay and be built like a tank, not a combo meal. I wish they could improve his movement speed and/or replace his normal side special for something that's atleast good for offense or defense. Point is, please don't damage iron giant any further he's a fun character to play as🙏

the burst meter was already a part of his kit but it didn't have anywhere near as much knockback primarily because originally it didn't give thorns, it gave straight up invulnerability to hits depending on how man bolts he had stocked up, the fixes for a lot of these are pretty simple all things considered, just increase the outwards knockback on the first few hits of f tilt and nair and either revert to how his neutral special was before or just reduce the knockback on it all together. as for the taunt cancel to grab combo, that's really gonna be the most uncertain and will likely be in the game the longest

@nekomansa yeah, I can understand that. Im not the biggest fan of the decisions warner made with this game (also, i just dont like Warner Bros. in the slightest). But if nothing else, I think player first games did a pretty good keeping the core of who he is in the moveset they gave him. Stuff like the cannonball and whirling car really give the feeling that he's less fighting you and just having fun. Could do without the rage mode tbh. But as a whole... yeah, they need to stop using the giant in this kind of stuff.

To me, it further emphasizes the philosophy of his character, and, if there was a lore reason, implies that he may have gotten better at handling that form.

I think the biggest thing they need is to make it so that he can't kill you off of your own attack. Maybe make it so that when he bursts out of a combo, it always sends in towards the stage (tho i'm sure that could cause some stage spike shenanigans as well)

Tbh, if they get rid of the true infinites, Giant is perfect as he is, and I love em. So far, despite being considered one of the best characters, I think he's earned it due to all the hardships he's had during Beta. Plus, for future Giant characters, I hope Iron Giant helps as a template of sorts.

Current state of rage mode is ridiculous imo. If you spam side attack, down attack, and up attack, it'll constantly have a bunch of hit boxes that cover everything except directly in front of you around torso level. This spot can be reacted to with grounded neutral attack (smash?) Where it kicks up quickly. His frame data in rage mode is very overlooked. Also, burst comes back like 4x quicker.

You also forgot to mention how his transformed up special, in good conditions, can kill at 0% too And that is, if you jump, your head is close enough to the blastzone in the sky, and you hit up special at giant's feet on the opponent, and itll outright kill them. And it can hit 2 opponents at once too. And also how buggy giant is. I dont know if its tied to his transformation, it might be, but for some reason, sometimes he remembers your past actions, and once he magically bugs out, youll repeat that same action on a completely unrelated input, to give examples: -right Dodge turning into left dodge only -side air special turning into fly uair fly uair fly uair (yes 1 input made my character do this) -a sideair causing a move i cant recall in the air, into cannonball, and it controls me aswell so i cant steer it (basically killing me) Unrelated note, iron giant cannonball move also tends to not send enemies where you want them to if you hit it mid air, so it looks like itll connect once you land on ground, but it doesnt, but i guess its fair since its no longer multihit I love iron giant, i always did. I main him and i like his uniqueness, but some things he has need to go in some capacity at least, which would be that slight nair combo that keeps going and going, or the up special kill option at 0% i mentioned when transformed. The burst mechanic to get out of combos i see as a mandatory feature for him, but maybe it shouldnt give such easy kills in proper conditions (literally getting comboed, the enemy is putting so much effort, and all i do is nspecial and it kills them outright for free) Edit: also im pretty sure giant already had this 'burst' but i dont remember if it was usable mid hitstun like it is now (either you nspecial when not in hitstun, or dodge when in hitstun)

He got a few nerfs near the end of the beta's life, but other than launch i don't think he's ever been considered too good. Tier list isn't everything though, and it's definitely possible to win with the weaker characters. I mainly played Velma in singles who was also considered weak, but I did well with her.

Ran into some hacker earlier today that did this infinite grab thing. I couldn't do ANYTHING. AT ALL. He grabs, you get stunned long enough for him to grab you again. Getting hit by separate attacks, as you showed in this video wasnt the issue. Obviously reported that but that was definitely enough multiversus for tonight.

There's another infinite that was discovered where you can cancel grab into a taunt, which gives you enough time to do a grab. that's probably what you faced. This character is certainly in an interesting state to say the least :)

Sadly that's not a hacker, he can string grabs together by cancelling with taunt and I think there might be another way, he genuinely has like 12 different infinites, or had at least, since they removed him just now to fix him up next week

The moment they get rid of his infinite, he's going back to the bottom of the barrel. He's already nothing without it, and if you can't do it you might as well not touch him. When that's gone, he's a literal punching bag and there's nothing they gonna do about that

yup... that's the big issue. Jank is what's making him playable at the moment. These untested implementations that devs added in do not make him a good character. I wish they'd look at donkey kong, king dedede, or K.Rool in smash. Heavy bruiser/tank units with defensive and offensive options, but still you can combo them to death. There's a balance there where I always felt I could come back after being combo'd, but when I play IG, I know I'm dead the second some bugs starts their infinite on me. I just started playing this like it's a party game at this point... win rate went up to 90% in doing so, it is just much less fun for me.
