Hey everyone! I know I've been MIA with the videos lately. Things have been crazy busy on my end, but don't worry, I'm working hard to get back on track with new content. Thanks for your patience and continued support! I'll be back soon with more videos about the law, simplified. #law #legaladvice #southafrica #comingsoon

Thank you for this detailed refresher. Now that Advocates and Attorneys are governed by the same Act, and Advocates with Trust accounts can be approached directly, I wonder how long it will take for SA to eliminate the distinction between Advocates and Attorneys and have a single legal designation. Prospective legal practitioners would then have a single route to follow to be qualified. This would still allow practitioners to specialise but would simplify the requirements. It would also nullify the need for a conversion from Advocate to Attorney or Attorney to Advocate if the practitioner chose to change their focus and specialisation.

Interesting point. I personally doubt that the two professions will become one. There are still too many differences between the two. From what I have seen so far, not a huge amount of advocates are opening trust accounts.
