I've been shooting for decades (game & comp clays), i watch a lot of comparison videos and this one is about the best i've seen. Nothing else to add really.

Informative video, Lloyd. Not certain if you’ve already done one on the crossover guns designed for multi-use but perhaps that may be useful to some viewers as well.

With my competition years well behind me, I’m more than happy using my 20 bores. Light, quick and just as effective for the less extreme aspects of shooting choices.

For 15 plus years all I owned was a 1976 Remington 1100 3 inch Mag with 5 extra barrels and a friend gifted me a Straight Trap Stock set and I shot Trap and Skeet and Sporting Clays and Hunted with it from the Uplands to Wetlands and Predator’s and Whitetail Deer. It is also the only gun I have ran 100 straight in Trap and walked over to the Skeet range after putting on a 26 inch Imp Choke barrel and ran 100 straight in Skeet on the same day. Yes an Auto is that versatile !

Can you please make a video about aftermarket chokes and if they pattern better than the standards
@timeverett78282 жыл бұрын
Good video to show someone who is new to shotguns why there are differences and what the differences are intended for. Having been around shotguns for decades it's 2nd nature to someone like myself and we forget that not everyone understands.

In five years time we’re going from lead to steel shot! On my OU and sxs I’ve got fixed chokes. Can I still use these guns to shoot steel rather than lead 682 egold & s686s both Beretta Thanks
@lloydyp2 жыл бұрын
Standard steel should be fine as long as the gun is no tighter than quarter. Check for a fleur de lis with the proof marks on the bottom of the barrels / monoblock, but I doubt you will find one. Steer clear of superior steel.

do you like a weight forward balance on your clay guns?

No, I prefer them to balance on the pin.

Lloyd, what would you recommend as a good crossover game/clay gun? Would you say the f16 fits that category? Cheers!
@lloydyp2 жыл бұрын
No, the F16 is much better suited to game. Beretta 680 and 690 series guns and the browning 525 based guns mostly sit in that spot between the disciplines.
@NoLogic692 жыл бұрын
@@lloydyp thanks for that. I shoot a 694 for clays and an old 686s for game. They both shoot so differently, I would like to get one gun to do it all. Thanks.

In the US there is an F16 Game and an F16 Sporting. Is that not the case in the UK?
@CraigK802 жыл бұрын
Personally I think a good clay good is a combination of both sporting and game. Some sporting guns are just heavier for the sake of it, whereas a K80 SS feels deliberate in its engineering, more svelte in its dimensions, and less fat. Everyone’s different which is why there should be no definitive answer on what makes a gun game or sport, it’s what fits and feels the best, that’s the beauty of this sport. All in my opinion of course. 😉

I have neither the knowledge or the interest in taking issue with anything said in this video. I've always found Lloyd to be clear and accurate in his videos. Having said that, for me personally, I can't see how a "light" game gun is better than a sporter FOR THE TYPE OF DRIVEN BIRD HUNTING DONE IN THE U.K. You see the birds coming, slow/fast and low/high and you move the shotgun accordingly. Seems like a clay gun would be better in this situation. Now, if you are "rough hunting" as they call it in the U.K., or walking behind dogs hunting quail, or any kind of walk/flush bird hunt, a light and fast shotgun make makes some sense. I know I'd rather tote a 6.5 lb gun around all day over a 9 lb one for sure. However, sitting on a stool waiting for doves or in a blind waiting on ducks to decoy - clay guns work for me!

I don’t shoot game, but I am happy to eat Pheasant’s Partridge Duck and Deer from are local shoots. My reasoning is that game birds do have some quality of life as they get to live in the wild, walk where they like, eat what they like,roost where they like . Unlike the tens of millions of chickens ducks and pigs that can have next to no quality of life 😔. My kids ,now young men don’t hunt , do respect wildlife and understand that eating meat means murder . Would love to see the boys clay shooting 🤔 just so expensive 🙄🇬🇧
