There's a video at Autoforge where you used the DIY Rinseless diluted 1 to 16 as a waterless wash in a foaming iK sprayer. Besides the ceramic part, how is the new Waterless Wash different?

Waterless is designed to be used with dry wash media, the rinseless with wet.

Love the channel gents. Congrats on 50K. Keep it going. Avid DIY detailer here and watch ALL the channels out there, and of course subscribed to yours. Having said that I've noticed EVERYone on these detailing channels say "it's a solvent" or "it's a surfactant" or "it's water based". And by "it" I'm talking in general, not in reference to this video. Obviously we can "google" what these terms mean but I would love to hear it from you Yvan as you explain everything thoughtfully and in real life practical terms and examples, not like Webster's dictionary. Just a suggestion. Thank you.

I really enjoyed this video and to be honest I am really ignorant on the chemical composition of most detailing chemicals. For years I have been using waterless wash for door jams and trunks. The product cleans way better than you think it would and the wipe off is easy. I will also clean the back of the interior trim pieces with waterless wash because it works well. When I travel a bottle of waterless wash and a microfiber towel are in the door just in case something happens.

As quick detailers are designed to be used with dry wash media, what is the difference between waterless and an exterior quick detailer? Is it because most QD's generally contain a type of sealant/protection

DIY Detail Waterless Wash is better equipped to deal with dirt, a quick detailer is only to dust a surface.

If someone has just finished using Panel Prep and is about to start applying a coating but notice water dripping, I assume they should only use a dry towel or possibly some more Panel Prep on a Microfiber and NOT Waterless on the Microfiber due to Waterless having protection in it which could inhibit the coating from bonding to the area the Waterless was used correct?

I've been using RW's since 2012, WW here and there w/ great results as well. That said, I just used DIY Detail WW for the 1st time yesterday and was truely blown away! My car was driven in the rain the day before and still wet here and there and I grabbed 6 TRC Eagle edgeless mf towels and got after it📢 First thing you'll notice is the color and then the smell...what an experience! It cleaned well and I used my Gauntlet towel for the final buff after each section. This stuff made my paint clean, glossy and SMOOOOTH❗️ I used over 3/4 of the bottle washing the car, door jams, engine bay and tires and wheels...FLAWLESS finish😎 Might have to get a gallon, if it's available, better save the bottle it came in💡

My question may be a little "unsafe" of a technique. Could you spray all clean or rinsless wash on a doorjumb for example, spray clean water with a pump sprayer (to avoid the mess using a pressure washer in some cases as mentioned) and then use the waterless to clean/dry the area? Would this be a safe washing method in cases where there's just a little worry the waterless wouldn't be enough? I know it would work, but I wanna hear your opinion on whether you'd recommend it of course! I guess spraying all clean/rinsless and not neutralizing with water in between is probably dangerous.

A quick detailer is not for cleaning, only drying aid, to add protection, and possibly very light dust removal. Just because many people use it for washing purposes doesn’t necessarily make it the best tool to use.

IMHO, the need to add anything AT ALL to the water, is hugely exaggerated. I've often been using pure water, using the "waterless" (spray & wipe) method, and it still works very well. I'm a chauffeur with a black car. I use a VERY light touch, and it's a very slow process - recently I've been too busy so I've been paying for budget hand washes, and unfortunately it's getting swirled up at a higher rate than when I use my "waterless" process. Now, sure - if Yvan did my hand washes, that would be better, but I can't afford that kind of detail every day (or every other day). When I do add something to the water, I use a rinseless product, at the rinseless dilution, so that it's easy to remove the residue. (haven't tried the DIY product yet - I'm sure it's fine though) Yvan - in the video, where you show the dirty cloth after a wipe, you'd get the same result if you used plain water - how about you show us? 😀
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
You get a similar result, but not as safe.
