I believe the Datejust you're holding has an engine-turned bezel with no gold. The fluted bezel is quite different.

He forgot the most important difference. The hands have to be cycled forward an entire day to change over the date on the OP Date. The Datejust has a crown setting to instantly change the date over. Or did I miss that explanation in the video? 🤔

I brought my 2 tone Rolex Date with a diamond face added on later, a 34mm in 1994. I never regret buying it and still wearing it to this date! Price back then was about 5k! Today is more than double. They stopped making a two tone with a diamond face now in 34mm. But back then you can still customize Rolex in many. different ways, I don't know if you still can.

The smooth bezel and the oyster bracelet actually make the DJ look smaller in this vid. Depending on the colour, bezel and bracelet, the Date and DJ can wear almost equal in presence to the eye.

You didn't show the coolest part of the Datejust! For those who live with these, months have different lengths. To set the date on the Datejust, you simply pull the knob to the first stop. Rotate counterclockwise, and reset the date. In the basic model, you must spin the hands around to pass midnight, advance the date, then reset the watch. On the Datejust, no worries, set the new date in seconds. The watch continues keeping time. I did not care for the jubilee bezel and band. On my Datejust, I had a jeweler retrofit the smooth bezel and heavier band. I also did away with the diamonds on the face, going with the blue. This was in 1987 or so. That Rolex was $1795.

You mislead the buyer for the Date 15000 and Datejust 16000 series watches contain the exact same movement installed during the period when they were made, ie 3035 or 3135. The DATE, 15000 series featured the jublee bracelet for about $100 more that wear gracefully as the one i wear on my 15000 and 15238. Another main reason why the 16000 costs more is that it has the white gold bezel where white gold usually fetches a bit more, third, it appears that your DATE model is a bit undervalued - though i do not care for the blue. I have a nice collection of Rolexes and others but my favorite is the DATE in white Roman that i got new with papers in the mid-80s for a whopping $580.00, R-USA 553 NY serviced, that keeps less than two seconds a day slow in all positions. Enjoy you fine watch, i remain.

They are OP Date with jubilee and even in two tone steel and gold so you in this video you are just making a comparison between these two watches. But it is by no mean a general comparison between Date and Datejust since you don’t go through the diferences between the macanical part of these time pieces

They need to bring back the Oyster Perpetual Date and make a modern version. There are differences between the design of the modern Oysters Perpetual and Datejusts, so just add a date to the Oyster and a lens and it would fly off shelves.

The President Bracelet is by far the nicest watch Bracelet, then the Oyster Bracelet, Jubilee is just not nice and I changed my Rolex Bracelet from the Jubilee Bracelet to a President Bracelet , I also think for the money people pay for Rolex watches the Bracelet should be chosen by the buyer.

While i dont wear a watch smaller than 39mm, i would go for the jubillee bracelet any day and the fact that the bezel is white gold, really aggregates value to the watch visually as well as a from a collectors point of view. The oyster looks cheap and visually inexpensive.
