Robert Patrick honestly didn't have to do much for this role, just stay stern faced and emotionless. But he does it so well! We see room searches all the time, ranging from methodically rifling through each drawer and looking under rugs for hidden trap doors to outright ransacking. The T-1000 does... none of that. Instead it very carefully runs its fingers over every single thing in that room, even when it seems to serve no purpose. Because it's not just looking for clues to where else its target might go. It's learning everything that's possible to learn about John Connor without talking directly to him. Which is terrifying.

Can you believe that Cameron wanted Billy Idol to play the part? If it hadn't been for the fact that Idol was in a horrific motorcycle accident, then this movie would have turned out much differently. Robert Patrick got the role of a lifetime, and he took the ball and ran with it. Even being so young at the time, he was mature enough, with a good head on his shoulders, to realize that he had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and he did everything perfectly to make that role his own. God bless him for it.

Apparently in the original script, there was a shot where T1000 passes through a hallway with an open door that looks into the bathroom, and you could see Janelle dead in the shower. That would have been a really macabre touch, but in a lot of ways its worse to not see her at all. I also love how Patrick moves in this extended scene. There is no awkward, robotic jankiness to his movements like a machine, he moves slowly and yet with a lot of brevity, almost making him look like a ghost than a robot.

I love how John himself realises that he’s talking to the T-1000 upon noticing how nice “Janelle” was. He knew that she and him shared a mutual dislike of each other therefore it was a dead giveaway. Even the dog knew something wasn't right and his barking further confirmed his suspicions before the Terminator played the Wolfie trick on ''Janelle''. In one of the deleted scenes, you can see the T-1000 walking through the house and looking into the bathroom during that moment. You can’t see it but it is implied that the real Janelle is lying there dead with her feet sticking out of the door, presumably killed when taking a shower (Psycho anyone?)

John's clever and streetwise, which would serve him well as a leader. The Terminator picked up on John's doubt and executed a standard identity verification technique-an innocuous statement that the T1000 wouldn't know but that Janelle would catch and correct instantly.

God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell. 1 John 1:8-10 KJV If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. John 1:1-3,10 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Isaiah 44:6 KJV Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Revelation 1:17-18 KJV And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

@potaterjim4 жыл бұрын
It's actually pretty subtle and clever, it has to do with how impactful those deaths are. Killing the dog was senseless violence, and the dog didn't deserve it, so we don't see the death, only hear it, but it also doesn't linger on the fact very long, because while the audience doesn't want to see the dog die, we also don't really have much attachment. We get the reverse with the asshole foster dad: He's built up to be a jerk, so his death is gratuitous and "rewarding". At the end of the movie, we have the opposite, where we get to watch the terminator die, but it's long and drawn out, because it's emotional, and we have an investment in that character.

Because this is a good movie and doesn't have character's constantly narrate their thoughts for no reason. When the T-1000 kills the dog and reads the name "Max", we know exactly the realization it had made without needing explanation. Remember when John said: "The dog's really barking" And the T-800 said: "Dogs are used to smell terminators in the future" ? Yeah, me neither. Because the movie trusted the audience to put two'n two together. Because back then, the movie respected us. Also, before he found the box of photos. I thought he was just gathering samples of things to turn into. And lastly, I love that they don't have him hang on one photo. A terminator should be able to scan every corner of it from one look.

Dogs have a much better sense of smell than us, and I know for a fact my dog is very nervous around people who use too much perfume/cologne, simply because of how that smell masks the natural smell of humans she is more familiar with, and it really bothers her. Honestly, I think it's because if the Terminator did that then they're pretty much wouldn't be much going on in the rest of the movie. I would say.. first of all, the T-1000 knew it was duped when it ripped the dog's collar off and saw it was "Max" not "Wolfie" - so any misdirection from the T-800, it would know that was a lie too. It's a stalemate situation, and sort of goes to them both being machines matched in their knowledge.

@Vladpryde2 жыл бұрын
@xtrmst_01 Eh.....I mean, sure, he could have gone for anyone, but you have to admit that the actors he DID choose were pretty damn good in this film. Myles Dyson played by Joe Morton was also a home-run pick, as was the minor role of the woman who played his wife. Not to mention the Biker (the late Robert Winley) and the guy who played the bar owner with the shotgun and sunglasses (the late Peter Schrum). Two minor yet memorable roles that only those two guys could have played. I think it's a bit disingenuous to say that Cameron doesn't know shit about good actors.....he did cast them after all.

There is a philosophy about technology that any technology is not inherently good or evil but can be USED for either good or evil. Every aspect of the Terminator that made him horror movie terrifying in the first movie made him a heroic savior in the sequel.
