Woot woot! I just took my first CLEP, today. I passed. Whoever writes the questions- grammar is not their strong suit. It causes confusion about what the question is asking. But I passed is what is important. Gonna try to squeeze about 2 or 3 more CLEP before the year is out.

Hello I’m a 52 year old woman that really wants to get a bachelors degree, I was raising a family and working hard to pay for my kids education. I got excited when I came across your video. Is getting a bachelors possible in one year? Did you have credits before you started cleping? Any information would so be appreciated. Thank you, Linda
@MasonAksamit7 жыл бұрын
linda rivera thank you very much!:) I know it’s really rough at the moment with tuition being as overpriced as it is! 😬 anyway no I didn’t have any credits before I started cleping and yes it is possible to do so in a year (1 year 5 months, for me) I would even say that with better planning you could actually test out of college while you’re in high school, graduate high school and send all of your CLEPs to the best college; and graduate within a couple weeks of graduating high school. But in your position absolutely a year is completely possible to do!:)

Last May, I got my son started doing CLEPs. He uses his one hour study hall and other free time at school to work on the plan I laid out for him. He's passed 14 CLEPs so far for 48 credit hours. He'll probably take two more CLEPs next weekend. Combined with an AP test in May and hopefully one more CLEP by the end of the school year and he'll basically be a junior in college sitting with 60 credit hours. He's done all of this in less than one year. He'd probably tell you that he didn't work as fast as he possibly could although he has taken two CLEPs in a day before. We are almost done with the CLEPs and about to move on to the DSSTs portion of the plan. I also still need to iron out some of the upper level part and then hope the degree map I made agrees with what the school requires when we work with them. The grand plan is to graduate from high school and then a month or so later go through commencement ceremonies in college. Right now my son is a only a sophomore in high school so we are on schedule right now. Keep up the good work here! Love seeing it.

Have you looked at Modernstates.org ? It's a free website for Clep prep and they have a reimbursement program to pay you back the cost of your exam after you pass a test. I'm not 100% sure how they get the funding but it sounds great. I'm thinking about studying for wgu and I want to clep all of my generals. I graduated high school in 2005, so I may be very rusty on all topics. I'm working on calculus right now. It's the hardest of the courses I want to pass so I'm aiming for it first. Also Saylor.org can give you free credits with it's proctored $25 exam, but you would want to look and see what your school of choice might accept from them.

@MasonAksamit7 жыл бұрын
I think the biggest key to any of it is to relax, and try to enjoy the process more if you can. Typically the issue I see a lot of people have is that they have the mindset that the test (or anything) is extremely difficult and therefore when they study it it'll become more difficult. Because your mind typically creates the challenge more so than the test actually does. Especially if you have a few months I would recommend trying to make smaller goals for yourself within the study process. So, for example, if you are struggling with certain types of math problems like quadratic equations and graphing inequalities. Focus on one at a time, instead of both, really concentrate on quadratic equations first, and do so many problems that you feel like it won't be difficult any more. Than move onto the next one. It works for two different reasons, #1: despite what people say it as actually scientifically impossible to multitask fully because your brain has to change focus in between tasks. So when you focus on one at a time, it becomes a lot more sensical, and you learn it quicker. #2: It gives you a small sense of pride when you accomplish things (no matter what it is) so if you work at the smaller senses of pride, i.e. I can do this type of problem now. You'll have a much stronger motivation to continue on. Sorry for the really long answer, But I'd love to help in anyway... feel free to email me (attached to the home page of my channel), and we can set up a tutoring session if you are feeling nervous at all! :) Otherwise I hoped I answered your question well! :)

I know that's a good score and I should be ready enough to take the exam, but I want to score a bit higher. I *really* don't want to take this course again in college. So, do you know of any ways that I can get my score up? I completed all of the quizzes on Study.com. Is there anything else I should do to boost my score?

SO the best way i can suggest is review the questions you got wrong by rematching those videos. And try taking the practice test again. That should work

Okay, I'll try that! Thanks!

is there a link to practice tests for clep macroeconomics? how did you think it was in terms of difficulty?
@MasonAksamit6 жыл бұрын
If you go on the clep website, you should be able to get them from the CLEP book, when you schedule your tests. I found it difficult but I hate economics haha

I want to obtain a Marketing degree. How should I go about taking the clep courses?
@MasonAksamit5 жыл бұрын
First you need to find a school that accepts a good amount of transfer credit, i would recommend the big 3 and SNHU. And then start working on exams that will transfer into a marketing degree via the school you choose.
@n22014 жыл бұрын
can you talk about what CLEP you need for getting which final degree, because if I take all CLEP that does not make me qualified for one degree. I think you need to be more strategic on what exam you take to get the final degree. right?
@MasonAksamitАй бұрын
It ultimately depends on what program you're in and what school you're attending. In most American colleges you study General education for 2 years, and 1-2 semesters of elective credits, and you just need to fill those 75-90 credits. So taking as many easy CLEPs and DSSTs as possible helps speed up the process. I am looking for testimonials from people who used CLEPs/DSSTs to test out of college. Could you email me? I'll send you a list of questions to answer. masonaksamit@yahoo.com oneyeardiploma.com

Do I need to be enrolled in a college in order to take the clep and dsst would that be easier? And if so how would that work out would they allow me to just take clep exams and not there classes very confused about this or would I go apply to the school once I have all of the clep and dsst ect done with and ready for my degree? I’m trying to get my bachelors within a year if possible

You can do either or. Just look into the colleges CLEP and DSST requirements before enrolling. Certain colleges accept more at a lower scores: SNHU, TESU, Charter Oaks, and Excelsior. are CLEP credits accepted by the Air Force?
@MasonAksamit7 жыл бұрын
I believe so... All forms of military are DANTES funded (which means you can do it for free) I don't know all of the details off hand, but here is the link from their website about the military benefits. I hope this Helps! :) clep.collegeboard.org/earn-college-credit/military-benefits
@SuperSparrow456 жыл бұрын
Yes. The Community College of the Air Force accepts both CLEPS and DSST (DANTES). Pretty much all Base Education Centers have exam rooms where you can take either CLEPS or DANTES.
