You need to be absurdly good at spamming the jump key because if you slow down spamming the jump button for a second that will REALLY hurt the time. You also can't hold it down because it usually slow down as opposed to spamming it.

Here are my results in 1.16 going from y level 4 to about 120, sure it's not the height he did but quite frankly I cannot be bothered to invest that much time into proving you wrong. Running up the stairs: 19 seconds Running up the stairs and hitting spacebar in short bursts (Edit: About 3 taps each burst) with about a 1 second delay between each like I'm some freak that just can't possibly move their thumb up and down a spacebar consistently: 16 seconds Running up the stairs and spamming spacebar not even that fast, just casually moving my thumb up and down: 13 seconds.
