When I was younger I did not feel that I needed to go to Church at all even though I was always a believer. When I was in my late twenties I felt that God was tugging me to start going to Church or at least give it a try. I finally gave in and over twenty years later I continue to keep going to Church every Sunday! I have gone to three different Churches over the years and visited a few others in that time frame. I can honestly say that my life is so much better since I started going to Church and I have developed a strong relationship with God with prayer and Christian music! I love singing out loud with my Church every Sunday as it is a powerful feeling worshipping with a lot of people! I am a blue collar worker and I feel really good about getting dressed up to go to Church every Sunday morning! I love my Church and recommend it to anyone!

Thanks for posting. This has become a prevailing approach for believers over the past couple of decades and the pandemic has only made it worse. While those attending church have been hearing this message in this past year, those who are not attending are likely not hearing this important message at all.

During the pandemic, the churches shut their doors to people & seemed to obey the commandments of men rather than God. John 10:12 comes to mind.

the concept of church as we see it today is not what the early church was doing... going to a location in a building to sit in pews for however long, sing a few songs, and listen to someone else tell us what they think? uh, no. what we actually do see in scripture is the preaching of the gospel, then discipleship, which then repentance and equipping go hand in hand. we also see that everyone in the body has a part to play, everyone has a voice, everyone has something to share as the holy spirit leads, and if you think that through, that means that real discipleship would be taking place, because in order to share what the holy spirit is teaching us, it means everyone's studying and doing their homework, researching Gods word, finding their places in the body of Jesus Christ, and actually living in the finished work of the spirit . But in todays, uh, institutions, the only ones that get to say anything are those that rub shoulders with the preachers, or, shall we say, motivational speakers? over the years as a believer in Jesus Christ myself, I started seeing this passive customer seating arrangement as very out of place for the body of Christ, all eyes face foreword with a few yea and amens? really? ... so, no, we aren't supposed to be getting anything from church services, we are supposed to be drawing from and overflowing from the life of Jesus Christ that abides within us as we love each other and support each other as Christs life supports us and overflows his life through us to each other. there's no such thing as going to church and attending church services.

So, I’m confused. I agree with points 2 and 3, but not really point 1. While yes, the main point of church is to worship God, it’s also for the edification of the saints, aka, for the believers to learn and grow spiritually. If we go by what you’re saying, church does become more of a chore than something that you look forward to doing. So, if someone says they aren’t getting anything out of going to church, what SHOULD happen is you need to figure out if that’s a personal issue (the person isn’t paying attention or getting involved) or is it a teaching issue, where the church leadership is stuck feeding the congregation spiritual milk, and never attempting to move onto spiritual food. In fact, I think that’s the number 1 reason why so many people have left the church; the teaching sucks. There’s no depth. No many “sermons” have become 30 minute story telling and analogy sessions with a few cherry picked verses tossed in. None of them really fit together, and you hardly ever see a pastor work through a book of the Bible. Instead, we use Sunday mornings as an outreach opportunity. We trade in talking to people about Jesus in our day to day lives with just inviting them to church. We need to remember that the 2 main purposes of “church” (your Sunday morning service) are: WORSHIPPING GOD and THE EDIFICATION OF THE SAINTS. Both things are inapplicable to unsaved people. Unsaved people can’t worship God because they don’t believe in him, don’t have that relationship with him. And, they aren’t saints, so they wouldn’t fit that second category. What has happened as we’ve turned Sunday morning into outreach opportunities is we’ve completely done away with the reasons we even have church. Now, the entire service is focused on getting people saved, not strengthening and deepening the knowledge and faith of the believers. It also has turned into an emotional experience, with shallow music (I’m not saying all new music is shallow and all old music is deep, but there’s a reason why songs like “Good Good Father” have become memes. Yes, there is a place for that song in the service, but if all of your songs are like that, you have an issue), light shows, smoke machines, etc. You walk into one of these places and you could easily mistake it for a concert, except for there are no concessions. Then, you have a watered down message. You never get into the nitty-gritty of scripture. There’s no “let’s spend the year going through a book in the Bible”, at most you get a 3 or 4 part series on a book, which is ridiculous as you can’t go through a book in the Bible in 3 or 4 parts. So, when you water it down, don’t be surprised when people leave. You can only survive on milk for so long, and until pastors start taking their congregations past milk and onto more life-sustaining foods, it’s gonna stay the same. Church attendance will continue to be a cycle with new people starting and older (not in age but as in people who have been there for a while) leaving. Why? Because the spiritual milk is great for new believers, but it won’t keep them. They’ll outgrow it and crave something more, but nothing more will be offered.

This is good. Point number 2 needs to be emphasized even more. We are part of a Body and were never meant to go it alone --something that is unthinkable when it comes to body parts existing alone. (By the way, Jesus did not say that the "gates of Hell" would not overpower the Church He would build [Matt 16:18]. He said the "gates of Hades" would not overpower it. While the former statement "preaches," it is wrong. Note the following context. Hades has to do with death, and Jesus was announcing for the first time that He would be put to death. Follow that theme through the following context. This was a shock to the disciples, but Jesus was giving assurance that His death would not stop His program of building the Church. This is an argument for the resurrection. In Matthew 17 Jesus demonstrates that He will still be alive to bring in that promised Kingdom, but they were not to tell anyone about it until after the resurrection.).

the bible also warns us to avoid false teaching and false teachers. there is no preaching of the gospel, and discipleship has literally been tossed out the door for more favorable church services. and this whole do not forsake the fellowship of the gathering together of believers? if we were actually in fellowship... but the current church process is we go, we sit, we listen, and we leave, thats it. so perhaps the reasons why people are leaving could be that God is pulling the plug on religious institutions. toxic churches cannot meet anyones needs when they are unrepentant, and therefore, mentally and emotionally dangerous to the communities.

Don't ask what you can get out of it, ask what you can provide others when you're there. People are in needs most of us are unaware of, and not staying in touch is definitely a detriment to that cause. I have noticed that when I speak, people listen and take my words to heart, even if I find what I say to be self evident and not that exceptional. This may well be because those words fulfill a need I do not have but others do. Similarly, I sometimes find a use in things others say, even if they're dumb things on the surface because it may just be a spark to set me on a better train of thought.

The marching orders of the Church is to make disciples in all nations.* Discipleship is basically showing someone how to walk with Jesus. How can someone do discipleship if he/she is not being discipled and is not making disciples? How can we reach the _1000s_ of unreached tribes and cultures if we don't work together as a body? *Everyone knows Matthew 28:18-20, but this command is mentioned or referred to MANY times in the New Testament. Christian, what are _you_ doing to help reach the unreached?

Brilliant! The New Testament has _dozens_ of commands that include the words "one another," such as _love one another_ and _give preference to one another._ How can anyone obey those commands if he/she avoids the *others?* The video is correct: the need for us to be a team is so obvious, it is assumed in Scripture. Only a selfish person would try to remake Christianity into a hermit thing.

You are the church. The spirit of God dwells in you. What lots of people (even pastors) don't (yet) understand. God created us according to His own image and likeness. Godly. Mankind/the first Adam fell. The image of God in man got lost. That's why there is all this predicament on earth (selfishness, greed, lust, wars, sicknesses, death, etc). We are all born into that mess. For the fall of man a perfect atoning sacrifice had to be made.... that is what God did in Christ. With His own once and for all perefect sacrifice, He paid the debt for the fall of man for us, so we can be indwelled by His Spirit again and finally receive the divine life of the ages back, the first Adam let got of in the fall of man. An amazing act of grace and love by our creator. That is what you see happening in Christ's first disciples. They too healed all and walked in unselfish love. And yes.... that is still avaible today. The holy blood is in place, the Holy Spirit is here to give us understanding, power and transform us back to origin. Not to be debated about, but to be embraced and be-come. So: The Kingdom of God already came. Through Christ, in Spiritform, in those that understand. Hence the divine healing miracles we experience. God manifested in Christ to give us back the divine life mankind lost in the fall of Adam. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after in Gen 1. The image we lost in the fall of man. The image that can be freely restored by Christ's blood and Holy Spirit working IN us. What a plan. What a solution. What a love. What a God. Jesus is amazing. It is the ultimate conclusion of the word and plan of God. God came full circle. He Himself stooped down from glory to restore us back to original created value: Christlikeness. Walking in divine healing power and unselfish love. Jesus, born of the Spirit of God, filled with the spirit of God. The "Son" of God, the incarnated word, God in the flesh. For three years He healed all, raised the dead, casted out demons, controlled nature, spoke pure divine truth. He said: "Follow Me. If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. The glory I have IN My Father, I give to you. It pleases the Father to give you His Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and give you explosive power. The same miracles i do, you will do too, because you will understand that the Father is IN Me and I am IN you. Freely I give you My Kingdom/Holy Spirit/divine nature, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely I give, freely share" Etc, etc, etc. I have experienced thousands of beautifull healing miracles through the power of Holy Spirit IN me already. Broken bones, cancers, covid, all kinds of infirmities healed in seconds. Demons manifesting and casted out by a simple "get out, in Jesus name". Jesus. De name above all names. In Him all power and wisdom is sourced and.... He calls us one with Him. God in man and man in God again. C'mon Jesus!! So.... again: God stooped down IN Christ to restore us back to Gen 1:27 were He said: "Let us make man according to our image and likeness and let them have authority.....": walk as Christ. Christ, the exact image of the invisible God. The image we were created after and being restored to by His atoning blood for the fall of man and indwelling Holy Spirit. You are free to receive this original divine life of the ages by Holy Spirit of Christ/God. Ask Him to guide you into truth. Read the Gospel of John and fall in love with your creator. You are not made for the fall of man and its effects, but for the image/glory of God and to walk like Christ. Holy Spirit is the guide and transforming power that will get you there. Amazing grace. A big leap in faith can be made when we start realizing we are already IN Christ, IN the last Adam. Free from the fall! Loved! Growing into awareness of our new (yet old) godly identity. Changing by Holy Spirit. The most fullfilled life ever. Paul healed all on Malta. He understood and wrote: "As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë (= divine life) again". "IN Christ (the last Adam) we are co-cruisified (dead to the fall and its effects), co-raised (justified/made righteousness, holy, blameless, above reproach), co-seated (one with Him)" "The fullness of deity dwells in Christ and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM, who is the head of every principality and power". So.... thank you Jesus! Thank you for redeeming me from the fall of man. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that makes this new (yet old) divine life come alive in me. You are amazing! In the shadow of Peter the sick healed... He understood too and wrote: "By Gods power (Holy Spirit) and knowing Christ, we have become partakers of the divine nature and have escaped the fall of man". The divine life of the ages has been returned to us by Jesus once and for all perfect atoning sacrifice for the debt of the fall of man and His indwelling Holy Spirit in us. Jesus/God is amazing!!! Ask Him to give you revelation and change you to the way it was before the fall of man: Christlikeness. He will do so. For it is written: "the Spirit brings forth after His own kind". "I have come to give you Zoë (divine life) in abundance...."

Going to church will not help you! Sunday worship will not release you! Your only hope of shaking yourself free from Satan and the world’s destructive mindset is to follow the CHRIST WAY. The Christ Way is the WAY of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, which Jesus personally followed and lived after full understanding in the desert - understanding which enabled Jesus to return to Jerusalem and embark on a new life of healing, teaching and control of the elements. Because Jesus' teaching was in direct opposition to the teaching of retribution and a vengeful God, Jesus was eventually hated and crucified. Any other explanation of Jesus' crucifixion is spurious and wholly untrue.
