i happen to be a Jew come to Jesus. Joel preaches Acts 1;8 powerfully in the Holy Spirit =Jesus is the I am (see more later. I have found that those that don't like him, have religious demon spirit/s. I preach Jesus in the streets get attacked by gangster rappers, drug pushers, pimps, get threatened to be arrested if I don't mind my own business and lock myself in my room, was kidnapped on orders from a police officer. I haven't listened to Joel for months. Yet, I feel he is wonderful. He does speak on health and wealth but Jesus is his gospel.

First of all a genuine Christian who is a preacher will not seek "popularity", but glorify the Lord. On the other hand, no one can feel jealous of someone who is preaching a different doctrine to the gospel of God, disguised as Christianity, for fear of the Lord, for this is considered anathema by Him! Galatians 1: 8-11 says: "But if even we, or an angel from heaven, will announce to you another gospel different from the one we have announced to you, be anathema"

He knows the Bible on an intimate level and can translate many aspects of it to our modern ears. He is also a human being and is imperfect- like he said, none of us are without sin. I was a budding Christian (still am, of course) and have come a long way regarding discernment, thanks to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I do not listen to him anymore. He does not preach the gospel of salvation through Christ alone - I now see the danger in this prosperity ‘preaching’ that I didn’t then. Osteen's teachings will have people feeling happy about themselves...as they walk the path to hell. His teachings are not just un-Christian, they are anti-Christian. Osteen says that we are all good people. The Bible says no one is good, we are all sinful by nature. Only God is good. (Mark 10:18) Osteen says we should rely on our strength. The Bible says that we should rely on God's strength, not our own. (Proverbs 3: 5-6) Osteen says to trust your heart. The Bible says never trust your heart, as human hearts are wicked. Trust in God instead. (Jeremiah 17:9)

People need to hear the ministry of Joel Osteen in this generation where many have been bogged down by spiritual and emotional troubles, to the point of almost giving up. The church should be able to not only feed the spirit, but also the heart and the mind, else Jesus would never have fed the 5000 people because only preaching about heaven would have been enough. If someone comes to you without food, you don't only pray for them and send them home. You give them food too, or your Christian faith will just be mere faith without actions. The church is the body of Christ and the bibles says we should not fight each other, but support and encourage each other. Hello Alicia Brua, I hope you’re having a great day! I’m not here to cause a fight, I just want to present my point of view on this subject. The problem with Joel Osteen is that his overall message is based in glorification of men (humans) and a false prosperity teaching. Before I get to the rather obvious prosperity message of his, I’ll elaborate on his “Glorification of men” gospel. He starts almost, if not, all of his sermons by moving the people to declare the following: “I am valuable, I am handsome, I am prosperous, I am enough, I am righteous, etc.” Although this may sound beautiful at first, that contradicts scripture, because we only have value once the blood of Jesus Christ is in us, not before. As a matter of fact, without living in light and therefore not gaining the blood of Jesus, we are simply dirty sinners (as proven in 1 John 1:7). While Joel moves the people to exalt themselves, the Lord moves us to humble ourselves before him (as proven in James 4:10 and done by Apostle Paul on Romans 7:24). Once we humble ourselves before God, He can bless us, not before. Osteen teaches that we are worthy and righteous, but actually, the only reason we are not dead is because of God’s grace and mercy (as proven in Lamentations 3:22). With that being said, I’ll talk a little about his false prosperity gospel. Although God doesn’t want his people to be miserable, he won’t give us riches that would simply hurt our relationship with him (as proven in Proverbs 10:22). God wants to bless his sheep, in an amount that would raise them to a higher level of faith, not one that would send them to the path of destruction. There is nothing wrong with you loving Joel Osteen, we are as a matter of fact commanded to love everyone (as proven in Matthew 22:37-39), but we cannot accept the teachings of false teachers. As a brother in faith, I recommend you to look for a different congregation, one where they teach the one and only true gospel which is not “Go and get rich” or “Now that you’re Christian, you are better than everyone else”. The true gospel is the one found in Mark 16:15. As I said in the beginning of this comment, I don’t mean to start a fight, since we as Christians must avoid them (as proven in Titus 3:9). This I did in love, to try to teach you a little bit about the gospel using this topic. May The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you always!

Personally I listen to Joel Osteen if I feel down and needs motivation, I listen to TD Jakes if I need to feel strong and to Dr. Myles Munroe to know more about biblical passages and how to apply them in my life.. bottomline is they’re sent out to us to help but ultimately no man can be perfect enough, they will lack and they may focus on certain areas of life because at the end of the day only God who is All Knowing and Mighty will be our perfect need and help but its ok to listen to people who will influence us positively than hear hate and negativity elsewhere..

I listen to his preachings and I see only a man carrying messages of hope, of faith, using the Bible very intelligently to motivate people in whatever their circumstances. When you live faith at the level that Joel handles, the results of life are much more than extraordinary. I think he has gifts and he is putting them at the service of others. On the other hand, being a pastor is not synonymous with being poor as it is not being an engineer, doctor, etc. I'm glad to know that he has that high standard of living. He has helped save so many lives, families, couples ... it deserves that and more. I am very happy to see this type of attack against him because it is a clear sign that he’s doing a good job. First of all, why is the entire sermon about this one man, is he that important, or should our focus be on converting souls for JESUS CHRIST? Who certainly doesn't need anyone to defend HIS Word ( NOT SCRIPTURAL ) What do you expect for a young Christian, who comes across this bickering over a man who understands that JEHOVAH WANTS TO BLESS HIS PEOPLE in all areas of their lives. Then why is he not mentioning Jesus Christ in most of His sermons even yet quoting Scriptures? Paul the apostle did not give pep talk to The Church, he preached and lived Jesus Christ. When he came to my city, my friend gave me a ticket I went. What I felt was emotional only, he (Joel ), NEVER opened the Bible. I left before it was over. Because he started to show videos of supposedly what they were needing money, for. So, in my opinion it was nothing more than a glorified fundraiser. It’s so sad to see other pastors positioning themselves as judge. In my own life, God used Pastor Joel to bring a powerful word of encouragement and deliverance in more than one occasion. His advices and manifestation of love has really impacted my life for the good. May God continue to bless Pastor Joel Osteen and his Ministry.
