Oprah very slick using Maya bucuz she got backlash from her statement "there is many ways to get to GOD". OPRAH Could not explain her comment when she was asked by Christian folk to explain her self. Look at her here when Maya explains so eloquently..

In 1996 in was walking around Macy's in Atlanta and ran into Maya Angelou. I was breathless, all I could do was tell her how much I loved her writings. She stood there and spoke to me for a couple minutes. Best day ever.🌸💮🙏🌻

You’ve never heard anyone talk with such intelligence? Did you go to college? If so, did you major in a STEM program or some liberal arts bs? As far as humility, Maya is not a person that expresses humility. Far from it. Her pomposity is legendary. Demanding others address her as “Dr. Angelou” is absurd. She was “awarded” a fake doctorate by an attention-seeking university. You know who else has a “doctorate” degree just like hers? Kermit the Frog. Seriously. Look it up if you don’t believe me. Maya never even went to college. She hasn’t even earned the privilege to use B.S. as a credential. Humility-that is a characteristic Maya definitely does not possess.

That's right, we need to fight! But we can't do it alone. When I leaned on Jesus to heal my heart he really did. We need to pray and ask and ask and ask constantly for Him to heal our broken heart and to mend our broken mind. It's been a long road and every once in a while I will think about it and cry and I think that's pretty normal after what we've been thru but now I'm able to cut it short and ask God to hold my hand and heal me. And it's a constant battle but it does get better. I thank God Jesus Christ in heaven for being so powerful and teaching me real love. ❤ Hang in there sister 💪🏼❤

These two people, Ms. Oprah Winfrey and, Dr. Maya Angelou, their words held me together, when I lost it all, became homeless, lost my eldest child, rejected by family, (yep those relatives), and almost lost who I am. She was a beaming light. I'm so grateful for Dr. Maya Angelou, her poetry book is always on the side of my bed because it reminds me of my own light when I forget. I read "I know why the caged bird sings" when I was in college. I was honestly transformed to my core. Although I'm a lot younger and from a different country, I felt and understood her heart. I'm so inspired by her and how she sets an example of truth, integrity, and inner power. Now that she's transitioned, may God bless her spirit with love, love, and more love. Why can’t we have her teachings in class? Why can’t we have mandatory teachings regarding moral’s, life coaching and just vital training and knowledge in school to prepare these generations for life but also to make the world a better place. Because let’s face it, the life coaching wisdom’s and inspirations like our grandmother’s and grandpa’s of our generation are no more, not like they used to be that’s for sure. And I know people will say, “Well, you’re ideally supposed to receive that at home from your family.” True, and that was possible at one point. But clearly by seeing the actions, cries, destructive behaviors and violence, it’s not being taught.” And it’s wreaking havoc on the world.

My greatest teachers are my late maternal grandparents, when I feel I was born out of love, I remember their love and nurturing. It's been more 20 years now since they both passed on, but the memories I share with them always make me feel their love, it was so great it still cushions the blows of life. I often say their love for me will last me for an eternity, because through my experiences, challenges and achievements, I always wish they were still alive so I can run to them to share my story. Everything I live for, my spiritually, how I express myself, my aspirations; I live my dream and continue theirs. 💝💝💝🌈

I am sorry to hear that, and I am sure this isn't easy for you. Use the lesson as a driving force to become a better person. Things of such nature only make you tougher for what is out there. You've got to find ways to reinvent yourself so that you do not descend into a dark place, and as long as you have life, every day is an opportunity to reinvent yourself. Remember that you are the main character, author, and editor in your life. The Lord loves you too.

I wish my parents had your attitude. They've been so miserable and unhappy all of their lives. They've made me feel like everything that's gone wrong in their lives was my fault, even though I did whatever they wanted, and followed their strict rules, tried to help them. I'm no longer young and I have nothing to show for my life. I feel so alone . There is no joy in my life, only responsibility. Where is the love? I can't stop crying hearing this.

What an amazing and beautiful soul. I heard her speak at the University of Rochester a long time ago, and along with everyone there, was so moved. As I left the building, I saw two young black women leaving the lecture, just ahead of me. They were filled with Ms. Angelo's words and energy, and I swear they were floating - their feet never touched the ground. Now that's a life well lived. Can you imagine the strength and power you must possess to turn OPRAH into an adoring fan?

Literally brought to tears, Maya, that Maya, I swear! Wow and her with Oprah in one seating ugh! 😩 I love these ladies. I was just offered a severance package at work and it’s a job that doesn’t appreciate me or protects black women. . But thank you for offering to let me go, thank you for at least offering me a severance package because I have NOTHING but now I’m going to get thousands of dollars, thank you for not just kicking me to the curve and having to start over financially, thank you for the money I’m going to receive because now I can do what I truly love & possibly never have to work for anyone else again, thank you thank you thank you.

I love how Vivian Baxter was a great mom and I can also see that she missed Maya a lot since she wasn’t around most of her childhood so she was doing her best to be the best mother after finally getting her daughter back in her teenage years. Love how this turned out. 🤍

I’m really grateful for hearing this message that touched my heart so much. For so long I didn’t like black people. They just seemed so mean. My dad sat me down and had me research my ancestors about 15 years ago. Just a month ago I began to learn how to love me. I’m still learning. I’m grateful for the awareness. Gratitude I been learning how to love and take care of everyone. I forgot me. Today I sit in the mountain sitting listening to you both and hearing maya how her mom just loved her. This touched my heart to love me and love my children in such a way of not judging them anymore.
